The third sermon in our series "The Gift" focuses on the gift of myrrh, and how it symbolizes the sacrifice that Jesus was sent to Earth to become on our behalf. Jesus lived the perfect life then became the perfect sacrifice so that we could be saved. Although it may be the least commonly understood gift from the story of Jesus's birth, it may be the most important of the three we have learned about so far. Put simply: without Jesus's sacrifice, none of us would have the gift of salvation.

The first Sunday of December brought the opening sermon in our Christmas series "The Gift". We all love giving and receiving gifts during the Christmas season, but there was one gift from God that would change the world forever: His son Jesus.
Although we could never repay the Father for this gift, the first message in our series highlights the 3 gifts given to baby Jesus by the Magi soon after His birth: gold, frankincense, and myrrh. We learn about the symbolism and significance found in the gift of gold.
"Most people have a desire to be kept accountable until they have a reason to be kept accountable."
This week, Pastor Kyle wrapped up our Relatable series by focusing on the importance of accountability. There is a big difference between judging someone hypocritically and holding someone accountable. As Christ-followers, we should hold each other accountable, but more importantly we have to be willing to allow someone else to hold us accountable for our own sins. This week, Renovation Church was blessed to have Pastor Jason Davis from Hope Church KC begin a new series called "Essentials". We begin this two-part series by focusing on John 4 and the story of Jesus and the Samaritan woman at the well.

In the fourth and final message in our "Toxic" series, Pastor Scott delivers a convicting sermon regarding the toxicity of lying. Not only do we struggle at times with lying to others, but lying to ourselves and lying to God are also very prevalent sins that we should try to avoid.
Pastor Scott touches on common reasons why we lie, and why it's so toxic regardless of the situation. Instead of justifying "white lies", we should recognize that lying is contrary to who Jesus is. We pray that you are inspired by this message to become more like Jesus!
