The Local Beat is a weekly interview program from WKNC 88.1 FM HD-1/HD-2 focused on North Carolina musicians.
Camryn (Big Hoss) and Lizzo (DJ Lizzo) sat down with North Carolina-based alt-country punk group, Sarah Shook & the Disarmers. They discuss the band's spot on the Merlefest lineup, their upcoming album, Nightroamer, how country music has developed as a space for queer musicians, and more.
Local Durham Band Bangzz sits down with hermajesty, Eubanks, and Space Cadet to talk about the term Riot Grrl, being covered in Top Ramen, the music in their heads, Festivals, and the catharsis of playing shows.
