On today's episode of The Lopes Pod:
We've seen this happen before, a GCU loss at the hands of New Mexico State. It's been 3 full seasons since the last time we beat the Aggies at GCU Arena in 2017 as NMSU continued its historic win streak in the WAC.
Led by a tenacious rebounding effort, the Aggies won the game with their 22 second chance points and team play. It's a game that stings, but there is still hope with UTRGV losing at CSUB last night, we are still in great position to seal a top 3 seed in the conference tournament.

Today's episode is a quick recap of the game at Utah Valley. GCU was unable to stop the Wolverine offense as they fell short 92-80 Saturday afternoon.
Carlos Johnson and Alessandro Lever both led the offensive attack for the Lopes, scoring 23 points each. It was also another game in the WAC where there were more fouls than minutes played.
Since we recorded, UTRGV lost at NMSU and Seattle beat CSUB, which means GCU is now in a three-way tie for the 2nd seed in Vegas at 7-6.
Thanks for listening and as always, Lopes Up!

Fueled by Terrell Brown and Riley Grigsby, Seattle U was able to keep GCU at bay and earn a much needed home victory. Alessandro Lever and Jovan Blacksher Jr. both scored over 20 points for the Lopes, but a late flurry of offense for the team was not enough to get a W in Seattle.
We recap the game, what worked, what didn't as well as what to expect on the back end of the road trip at Utah Valley Saturday afternoon.
As always, thanks for listening and we hope you enjoy! Lopes up!
