Comm+University is a community-based program with interest in higher education community outreach. Comm+University seeks to assist the urban area university that desires its employees and students to operate within a social justice lens when strategically planning community engagement by decreasing the distance (physical and conceptual) between university and community via the building of Comm+University through dialogue and shared understandings of community needs and university resources.

WE ARE BACK! Same host, new season After a much need summer break we are back and discussing transitions and what they look and feel like for Jackie and Gabrielle with a few jokes and insights along the way.
This week we had the pleasure of discussing a bevy of things to include horizontal hostility with our amazing Guest Joyell Arvella, J.D.
Joyell is the Founder & Curator of Harp +Sword(https://www.harpandsword.co/) where her and the team are curating intergenerational joy and liberation. Joyell is a racial and gender justice strategist, educator, womxn’s rights activist, and restorative justice practitioner. Her professional background is in education, reproductive justice, international civil and human rights law, race and equity, transitional justice, community outreach, and reconciliation. Joyell received her B.A. in Black Studies from Washington College and her J.D. from New England Law | Boston. She utilizes her legal and public interest skills to address the intersections of race/ethnicity, equity, gender, incarceration, and sexual health.
She is a DOPE human that has a fondness for Missy Elliot and recently had the pleasure of being a facilitator at @startingbloc where she enjoyed all the wonders of both the conference and New Orleans.
