Episode 53 - In today’s episode, we finish our podcast series on the seven churches of revelation by looking into the Letter to the Church at Laodicea. This church thought they were the pinnacle of all churches and that they did not need anything at all. But, Jesus told them that they were poor, miserable, and blind. He was knocking at the door of their church, and they did not even know that He was missing. Those whom Jesus loves he reproves and disciplines. Often our greatest needs, griefs and unanswered. Prayers are Jesus love, knocking, and wanting to come into those areas so that He can become all we ever want. There are often times in our lives, when we face impossible situations that can feel like huge mountain ranges that are immovable and unable to climb. Such times can test our faith in a way that seems beyond our ability to stand. As we discuss what that looks like, Margaret and Carole will give a great visual in what is happening in the area near them. Great mountains are leveled in order to make a roadway in which people can pass freely. it is good to be reminded that our God is not only a mountain mover, he is the one who made the mountains themselves, and nothing is too difficult for him. In today’s episode, we continue our conversation about faith by asking the question “are we saved by grace or faith?” Join us as we talk about the importance of believing that God is the only Savior, and that His salvation is gifted to us freely, but we have to accept that free gift in order to be saved. Grace is God’s part and faith is our part. Jesus becomes that point of connection. God’s free gift came at the cost of His life; when we believe Jesus is who He says He is (God in human form) and will did what He said He would do (pay our penalty), then we are saved from sin and death.
