In this insightful episode, evolutionary biologist Mike Arnold, head of the genetics department at the University of Georgia, shares his passion for conservation and the surprising role hunting plays in preserving ecosystems. We explore how hunting creates a much smaller carbon footprint, provides healthier, more humane sources of meat, and fosters a deeper connection to nature. Mike discusses the disconnect many Americans have with game meat compared to the reverence seen in European countries. We also dive into his conservation work with sustainable hunting models and their success in restoring wildlife populations across Africa. Finally, Mike reflects on the spiritual and emotional benefits of hunting, not just for hunters but for the planet, as a means to heal and reconnect with our natural heritage.

Born in the mountains of Kauai to the sound of Ohm's and drums, this beautiful being by the name of Lily Webber compliments her courage and strength with humility and levity. After freeing herself from her ex-partner after 7 years in a taxing relationship, she was confronted with raising 3 children as a single mom. This feat would hold significant lessons for her and serve as a massive catalyst for personal growth. Lily reminds us to follow our passions, chase what EXCITES us, and find true happiness in enJOYing our life's journey. She urges us to harness un-comfortability for growth and pinpoint the roots of our deepest insecurities to liberate ourselves from the self-imposed shackles on our soul to live as our true, free selves! She nudges us to have faith in ourselves and remember that we have the power to create the life we want to live, and leaves us with the quote, "Don't be afraid to take the first step towards the life YOU want to live." As a Crossfit gym owner, she also advocates for body awareness & fitness- something she see's many spiritual seekers bypassing for the entrainment of mental capacities! She agrees in the importance of truly embodying what it means to be balanced in mind, body and spirit. Her other offerings include deep bodywork therapy and 1:1 psychedelic therapy out of the comfort of her home. Through her work as a plant medicine/psychedelic practitioner and guide, Lily shares some simple yet profound life lessons (36:24) revealed through Mother Aya, Psilocybin, and MDMA. We chat about the promise they hold for the future of mental health, their ability to break us out of "default mode," and their influence on neuroplasticity. From our hearts to yours, we hope you can extract some value from this lively conversation!

Are you a Warrior of the Rainbow?

I'm done holding back. I'm not accepting the status quo. There is a better way. I know it. I feel it. And chances are you do too! Let's rediscover it. Let's make our life our experiment. Let's reawaken our imagination and expand what we believe is possible!

This is not the hippie movement of the 60s. This is not a fairy tale. This is true inner warrior sh**. This is a rediscovery of the tools we have within to be strong. To be pioneers. To be trailblazers.

It is not on a level of extreme external activism. This only perpetuates the issues.

It is on a level of internal transformation. It's your embodiment that speaks louder than words. It's using the way you walk through life as your message!

An old Native American Prophecy states, "When the earth is ravaged, and the animals are dying. A new tribe of people shall come unto the earth from many colors, classes, creeds and who, by their actions and deeds, shall make the earth green again. They will be known as the Warriors of the Rainbow." We are witnessing the unfolding of this prophecy!

We have access to the wisdom that lies in our ancestral lineages. We can dip back into this knowing. This strength. This power.

When we look into nature for the answers, she listens. She can heal our mind, body, and spirit. She wants us to live in harmony and symbiosis with her.

But- we must give her time. We must treat her well and cultivate a deeper connection with her. Together we can mutually flourish!

This is what the indigenous peoples of the world once knew. This is what we've lost. This is what we must return to...

Jiddu Krishnamurti states, "It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society."

It's time we stop accepting what keeps humanity sick as something outside of our influence. We must stop accepting the outdated thoughts and programs that keep us limited and locked from accessing our full potential. We must stop viewing ourselves as powerless and purposeless beings.

We should seek to expand our awareness. Recognize our connection to the earth and the other beings around us. And start living more mindfully.

It's time we embody the warrior of light. The warrior of the rainbow. To remember. To help others remember. To return to harmony. To return to our true nature.

Settle in for a fun, lighthearted episode with Polish Ceramic Artist, Yogi, and Model Natalia Konopka, as she shares the ups & downs of her journey with an open heart... She reminds us there are no guidelines if we wish to pave our own path in this life... inspires us to do what we want to do and live a life we love to live. Reconnect with the playful nature of our inner child, and keep ourselves accountable while seeking discomfort for growth.

We'll explore Natalia's childhood scoliosis diagnosis that began her self-healing journey through yoga at age 14, where she got in touch with the more medicinal and spiritual side of yoga until her college years. She strayed from yoga for a while, investing time & energy into what the college experience had to offer. Upon graduation (during the craziness of Covid) with a Bachelor's in Marketing from the University of Tampa, she moved to LA, California, where she got back to her roots and into yoga... this time, hot, ashtanga yoga that was far from what she had experienced in her teens. After remembering the influence yoga could have, she felt the call to complete her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Costa Rica with Sacred Paths Yoga. For Natalia, who was struggling with body-image challenges at the time, this experience was life-changing and put her on a trajectory to embodying the lifestyle she lives today. From both our hearts, we hope this episode can meet you where you are. It could be a nudge in the right direction or a reminder. It could be affirming that you are not alone on your self-healing journey. It could be a sudden urge to make some time to nurture your inner child. Whatever it may be... carry that energy of emotion with you. Find a way to turn this into constructive action. Take another step towards creating a life you love to live!

For Season 2, I'm shifting gears. I have more clarity on what I enjoy most about podcasting.

To me, it's more than sharing information, data, catchy titles, and cookie-cutter episodes. It's about the quality and depth of the content. It's about the emotion it stirs within the listener.

It's not about 1,000 listens. It's about that 1 listen that changes someone's life.

That's why I'm in it. That's what keeps me waking up and working on this project.

It's to try my best to bring a piece of my journey and the journeys of others worldwide to you- so that you can receive these messages in the form of water and compost for your inner garden.

What I enjoy about podcasting is creating safe containers for my guests to drop into the wealth of discovery in deeply authentic, vulnerable conversations. It's feeling the power of another's story and recognizing our similarities within this human experience.

It's witnessing the growth that comes from stepping back, opening up, and absorbing what another human has to share. Sometimes it's a simple reminder- you're enough. You can do this. Other times it may be a trigger. An emotion that comes up. A bubbling up of something internally I need to work with.

But ultimately, The Live Thrivingly Podcast is about co-creation. It's about harmonizing us all within the web of life and reminding us to be the hero of our own journey!

I hope that new relationships can be formed from this platform. New opportunities discovered. More extraordinary endeavors inspired and missions shared & amplified.

In the past few months, I have met many extraordinary human beings from around the planet who share a similar vision. A similar drive. A similar recognition. They all realize the power of remembering our true nature. They all see the patterns. They all feel the shift. Chances are you, too, feel a similar resonance.

Let's stop holding back. Let's go against the status quo. Let's find a better way. We deeply know it exists. We can feel it.

Let's rediscover our true nature. Let's make our life our experiment. Let's reawaken our imagination and expand what we believe is possible!

It's time we ask more profound questions. It's time we feel more and repress less. It's time we engage with the beauty of life again. It's time we remember how gifted, beautiful, and sacred we are.

So get ready for a season full of transformational stories and powerful wisdom. Narratives that will stoke the inner flame within your soul and knowledge that will open up that well of wisdom within you and inspire a life full of vitality, clarity, and purpose.

Namaste. Aho Mitakuye Oyasin. Lokah Somastah Sukhino Bhavantu. Blessings. Amen.

In our current culture of prescription drugs and self-medicating, entheogenic medicines, like Mother Ayahuasca, offer an extraordinary potential for PTSD recovery, overcoming depression, and other human struggles. With conversations sparking up around entheogens and psychedelics around the globe, I sit down with active duty Air Force veteran & ceremonial facilitator Sergio Saenz to hear about his journey and gain more familiarity with the subject. Suppose we are to harness the full power of entheogenic & psychedelic medicine in their modern resurgence. In that case, there needs to be improved accessibility (sponsorship opportunities like- Agape Heroes) and an invitation for more equality and inclusion in ceremonial spaces. Furthermore, there is a necessity for more grounded, educational conversations around this work- largely regarding the preparatory and integration process of these experiences. As my teacher, Sam Bianchini, says, "I don't care how many times you've sat with Aya; I care about how you treat your barista." Ultimately it's how we utilize these tools to expand our generosity towards ourselves, humankind, and the planet.

Do you ever feel left behind or like you are failing yourself because you can't read a book a day like that "smart" guy on TikTok & LinkedIn or speed read as fast as Jim Kwik? If so... this episode will be great for you. Who retains more knowledge? One who reads four books three times thru or one who reads twelve books one time thru. Although there are intellectual anomalies that say the latter, for most of us, the former makes the most sense. While the information age and the growing accessibility of information is a fantastic time for self-education, our brains don't have the resources to absorb the sheer magnitude of information we consume daily. We desperately need fundamental practices and principles (like quality > quantity) to help us navigate the sheer volume of information we receive, intentionally or unintentionally. In this episode, we visit Ryan Holiday's book, The Daily Stoic, to explore a stoic thought from Seneca about the power of intentionally reading fewer titles over reading the whole library. If you have ever taken a deep dive into self-improvement, you can agree that learning more about yourself and life can become a monstrous task, filled with a never-ending "to read" list. To up-level yourself, you need to listen to all the podcasts. Read all the books. You are gorging on podcasts, books, blogs, webinars, and classes. You may find yourself on the brink of "cognitive burnout," where you cannot take any more information in. You lose focus, clarity, and balance. If you've been or might be here, heed the wisdom of Seneca's words. Let us concentrate on engraining the learning into our lives rather than score-carding it to appear "better" or "smarter."

Grab your morning coffee or afternoon tea and settle in as we visit the depths of Fiji diving with sharks, curing cancer through mindset, and the life-changing experiences of developing a yoga practice. Hear the wisdom and comfort Mamie offers through her thoughtful answers and zen approach to life! She states, "every time I step on the mat, I discover something new about myself. yoga is something you can do every day regardless of what is going on." For her students, her intention is to guide them to a place to "discover their own journey and power." This conversation was a pure delight to be a part of, and I hope her story can touch you or someone you know somehow.

Fun fact: When creating the cover art for this episode, I asked Mamie to send me a picture, and the response I got was, "I am in the Bahamas, how about this one? I call it Sailboatasana."

Ben Robinson is an American Council on Exercise (ACE) certified personal trainer with a unique approach to personal training. A year ago, he left behind a sales job and lifestyle that was completely destructive and required him to put his own health on the back burner. This decision became the spark that lit an internal fire in his body, mind, and spirit that has become his driving force toward making a greater impact in the world. A personal phrase he lives and trains by is the "Pursuit of an elevated lifestyle." While this may have different meanings for everyone, the focus is on healing the mind, body, and spirit through an engagement with the Earth as a natural healing process.

In this intriguing episode, we'll dive into:

Ben's backstory. What makes Ben's approach to personal training different? Motivation. Common Beliefs/pitfalls regarding fitness, health & wellness. Ben's view on holistic health. Grounding/earthing. Communication & Relationships. Nutrition & Deep Dive into what exactly a "Diet" is. Recovering from inevitable travel and lifestyle indulgences. Morning routine. The effect of our digital devices & blue light. What "Live Thrivingly" means to Ben Robinson.

When you're feeling off track from your routine, try utilizing Ben's recalibration questions:

  1. How have I been fueling my body? (Over/under-consumption of macronutrients)

  2. How much water have I been drinking?

  3. Have I been exercising and moving my body? (Sometimes, we work our bodies and mind too much when we need to focus on recovery)

  4. What has my sleep schedule been like?

  5. What am I giving my energy to?

Arlene Jones, aka AJ, is a Certified Fitness Coach, Yoga Teacher, and Reiki & Guided Mediation Coach. She received her first 200 E-RYT in 2000 at Barefoot Yoga Studio in Wichita, Kansas, and has been leading yoga and meditation workshops for over 30 years. I first met her in a yoga class she teaches at Lifetime Fitness in Mansfield, Texas. I quickly noticed there was something magnetic about her energy. On multiple accounts, I’ve overheard other students say, “I wish I could just bottle up some of AJ’s energy and take it home with me.” There was equally something inspiring and healing about her optimism and enthusiasm despite the turbulent times we are going through collectively. When you need a pick-me-up, AJ swoops in and illuminates the inner light within you, giving you the affirmations you need to hear to find balance, strength, and health so that you can continue to live to the fullest. She has touched the hearts of many and continues to do so daily. I am honored to deepen my practice under her guidance and consider her not just a friend but rather a “guru grandma."

In this Episode: 1. Arlene's Backstory 2. What got her into yoga & how has it impacted her life 3. Advice to those wanting to start a yoga practice 4. What has changed in the societal perception of yoga in the last 30 years 5. Speaking your truth! 6. Tips for navigating the tricky times on the planet currently 7.  (Arlene's Energetic Pulse) What trajectory do you see for humanity? Is it positive or negative? 8. Is this vision of the world achievable? How can we assist in co-creating this reality? 9. What does "Live Thrivingly" mean to you?

In honor of World Mental Health Day, I wanted to take a few minutes to discuss my perspective on Mental Health and shed light on some alternative paths to healing without using pharmaceuticals. Having suffered from my mental health symptoms, I offer my advice from experience. Whether or not you have experienced mental health problems or not this is still worth listening to help yourself or someone you may know in your life. I threw this episode together rather quickly, so don’t fact-check me lol. Many of the topics and practices will be expanded upon in more detail in later episodes by myself or guests on the show.

I believe that depression, anxiety, and other mental health-related symptoms are due to an imbalance in our mind, body, or spirit. If we are willing to put forth the effort, our mental health struggles can be an illuminated path to awakening from within.

Most important things to keep top of mind:

  1. This is not a disorder. You are not broken. You will heal.
  2. Understand that these are temporary “feelings”; they will not last forever.
  3. The darkness reveals the light within
  4. Talk about it with someone you can trust (It’s okay to be vulnerable- especially for men)
  5. Write your thoughts down (Journal)
  6. Try yoga & mindfulness meditation at home or in a studio.
  7. Consume adaptogenic herbs & mushrooms
  8. Get your Gut Health right (Cut the bad out-replace with the good)

Did you know electrolyte deficiencies can lead to neurological health problems? Yes, that's right- your stress & anxiety levels could be related to a lack of essential electrolytes- primarily sodium, but the primary electrolyte drinks have harmful SUGAR (I know that sounds crazy- but it's not).
