028 - It's that time of the year, but goal-setting isn't just for New Years. In reflecting on which goals I achieved in 2023 -- and especially which ones I didn't -- one of my key lessons learned this year is that sometimes, "SMART" goals can be dumb.

027 - Letting go isn’t always easy. Even roses grow way more buds than they can sustain, so if we’re not intentionally pruning the proverbial branches, we might be unintentionally blocking something even better. Whether we’re holding on out of fear or by default (or maybe even cutting something off too quickly), this episode is a gentle, practical invitation to lay down that burden and let it go.

To that end, here's what I have for you in today's episode:

  • 💭 A quick conversation you can have with yourself to let go with clarity and intention
  • 🎈Three letting-go personality types (and a couple places they might show up in your Human Design chart)
  • ✂️ Three practical habits to make letting go a little easier
  • 🔥 A quick win to set the intention
  • 💡 And as always, some clarity questions along the way to help you let go in a way that feels aligned for you

026 - Of the several education side hustles I've tried, tutoring is by far my favorite. It's completely changed my perspective of challenging students, given me genuine compassion and connection with the kids who were hardest to reach in class — and paid three times more per hour than I made teaching. Working 1:1 was so rewarding that it even inspired me to quit my job to create more room for what feels more fulfilling and aligned.

To that end, here's what I have for you in today's episode:

  • 💚 Three reasons to love tutoring as a side hustle
  • 👩‍🏫 A few different ways to get started (in-person or online)
  • 💰 How to set and increase your prices
  • 💵 An idea what to expect income-wise

019 - Caffeine makes an addictive energy promise, but when the scale starts tipping from feeling awake to feeling anxious, the benefit may become less than the cost. • A few reasons we might want to consider adjusting our caffeine routine
  • How much caffeine is too much
  • A clarity question to help you decide what adjustment you might want to make that won't leave you feeling deprived and exhausted
  • A couple energizing techniques for a boost without the jitters
  • And last but not least, a comparison between going cold turkey and an incremental upgrade and how to make it work for you

018 - Disclaimer: this is not medical advice, which is exactly why I bring it up. When I was at the peak of my struggle with anxiety in my early twenties, medication was the only medical advice that was offered to me. But compared to the compound effect of the strategies in today’s episode, it was also the least effective in the long run. Luckily, we have a lot more power over our mental health than many of us have been led to believe.

To that end, here's what I have for you in today's episode:

  • 7 feel-good techniques backed by science for natural anxiety relief
  • 3 counter-productive habits to consider releasing
  • 4 supportive strategies to incrementally upgrade our peace of mind and quality of life
  • And a clarity question to help you recenter in anxious moments

016 - Letting go of kids' things can be hard. The good news is that we don't have to part with things that genuinely bring us joy, but when it comes to the rest, we could end up projecting our own patterns of clinging to the past onto our kids. Keeping too much stuff often comes from a place of love, but if we get stuck wishing our kids would stay little, we might be missing out on the awesome people they’re still becoming right now.

To that end, here's what I have for you in today's episode:

  • A few things to consider when it comes to whether and to what extent to involve kids in the decluttering process
  • A couple clarity questions to help break down our own resistance and unpack what's really going on internally when we try to part with kids' stuff
  • The potential consequences of clutter on relationships
  • Several positive parenting opportunities we get from including kids in decluttering
  • Practical tips for getting kids started with decluttering, including some sample conversation starters and clarity questions we can ask to help them make their own decluttering decisions
  • And last but not least, a couple ways to hold onto our happiest memories in a meaningful way without holding onto all the stuff

The amazing thing about gratitude is not only the sense of abundance it attracts into our day-to-day reality, but also the rapid shift it creates when used with intention in moments of scarcity. I truly can’t think of any one practice that's been more transformative in the past 12 years of facing some real challenges with my health, finances, relationships, and career than a determination to see those circumstances through a lens of gratitude.

To that end, here's what I have for you in today's special Thanksgiving episode:

  • A secret I wish I’d known sooner to personalizing our gratitude practice in a way that creates a much more abundant result
  • Within that strategy, a common mistake to avoid (which I actually made myself the first time I recorded this episode), plus two techniques to help avoid it
  • A couple examples of gratitude routines that are easy to adopt and adapt as we evolve
  • How to use gratitude to overcome adversity and feelings of lack in a particular area of our lives
  • And a couple little quick win sentence starters that can help us feel better when uncomfortable feelings come up

As always, I'll share a little quick win clarity question and some practical inspired actions to help you create more abundance with gratitude, and I truly hope you find them as helpful as I have!

Decluttering is one of my favorite incremental upgrades because it creates visible changes right away.

Here's what I have for you in today’s episode by special listener request:

  • 4 steps to successful decluttering, including the important one most people skip
  • 2 sentence starters to help you get into the headspace for decluttering
  • How to break it down into achievable pieces with lasting results
  • 3 ways to release clutter from your home (including what not to do)
  • And how to include your family, or not (plus a funny story)

As always, I'll share a little quick win clarity question and some practical inspired actions to help you successfully declutter your home with a positive perspective, and I truly hope you find them as helpful as I have!

If you feel like social media is taking away too much of your time and attention, it's definitely not just you, and it's also not your fault. Mornings can be such a powerful, peaceful, and productive part of the day — but they can easily become stressful and chaotic instead. They’ll also evolve quite a bit as we move through different seasons of life, so our challenge then becomes to adapt with intention so we can start the day in a joyful way.

To that end, here’s what’s coming up in today’s episode:

  • How to reverse engineer your morning to make time for your own wellbeing, plus an easy technique to keep the proverbial train running smoothly
  • A super easy to implement practice that’s helped us get out the door on time without tears or yelling
  • Something simple you can say to your kids (or your partner) to keep tense moments from escalating
  • And an easy conversation you can have with your kiddo(s) to help them cooperate and collaborate on making the next morning even better

As always, I'll share a little quick win clarity question and some practical inspired actions to help you make your own mornings run more smoothly, and I truly hope you find them as helpful as I have!

Self doubt can be a sneaky thief, especially when we’re on the brink of a big change, and it’s robbed even the most inspiring people I know. The bad news is that I don’t think self doubt ever fully disappears if you’re the type of person who’s constantly growing and evolving, but the good news is that there’s always something you can do to feel better.

Here’s what's coming up in today’s episode:

  • A sense of solidarity in knowing you’re not alone if self doubt is trying to talk you out of something you know you want
  • The problem with using affirmations alone to try to shift negative self talk
  • A 3-step technique I’ve been using for years to shift out from underneath a black cloud level of self doubt into an overall good place where anxious thoughts are much easier to manage in the moment
  • A shortcut version to take the edge off when you’re in an overall good place but notice little sneaky self doubts showing up

As always, I'll share a little quick win clarity question and some practical inspired actions to help you make the idea your own, and I truly hope you find them as helpful as I have!

003 - Overachievers, unite! If you've ever felt like your to-do list is competing with what you actually want to prioritize, you are definitely not alone. I love, love, love personal development and productivity, so it's super fun to bring the two together to feel more at peace and present for the things that really matter.

Here's what's coming up in this episode:

  • An absolute favorite time management tool that really helps me feel accomplished at the end of the day -- but also like I'm living in alignment with what really matters to me (a pairing that eluded me for a very long time)
  • An easy technique to sort our to-do list in a way that aligns our productivity superpowers with our priorities
  • And 3 alternatives to actually doing ALL the things so you can free up more mental bandwidth for the sake of your own sanity

As always, I'll share a little quick win clarity question and some practical inspired actions to help you make the idea your own, and I truly hope you find them as helpful as I have!

002 - If I had to choose just one area of life where incremental upgrades have been the most transformative, it would be this. Losing 50 pounds was no easy feat in the first place, but keeping it off for over 10 years has been truly life-changing.

There's so much more to unpack on this topic than I can possibly cover in a single half hour episode, but the intention today is to touch on a mindset shift to prevent self sabotage, the most effective "diet" (spoiler alert: not a literal diet!), and what I've found to be the most helpful habit to shift my relationship with food along the way.

As always, I'll share a little quick win clarity question and inspired action to help you make the idea your own, and I truly hope you find them as helpful as I have!

001 - Welcome! I'm so happy you're here and excited to connect with you! I've noticed the universe nudging me to start this conversation for a while now, even before the practice turned into a podcast, so I'm extra excited it's finally happening!

Long story short, I set out on a wellness journey 12 years ago that evolved into much more, and even in the midst of the biggest curveballs life has thrown since then, I'm learning to accept the simple joy of letting it all unfold one inspired action at a time.

This get-to-know-you episode is just a quick intro to the inspiration behind the idea, plus a quick win clarity question that really helps break through limiting beliefs. I've often found that shifting how we talk to ourselves changes the inspired actions we take as a result, and I hope this sets the same tone for you too.

If the Incremental Upgrade idea interests you, I'd be so happy to have you join us! All you have to do is subscribe, and you'll be updated each time a new episode comes out.

The first two full-length episodes will be released alongside this one, so if you enjoy those too, I'd love to hear from you in a quick review! Thanks so much for tuning in!
