This series aims to be a recap of all my experiences in choosing to fully pursue music & what I learned from it. In turn I hope it can not only inspire other artist but also uncover all the unspoken rules in keeping one’s sanity while chasing after their music related dreams. Consider this a podcast that chronicles my origin story as I wear my heart on my sleeve on my come up & it hopefully ages well and shows the next man that it’s also possible for them as well.
The Habesha experience is a Black Experience like no other. There aren't a lot of people talking about this until recently when it comes to mapping out the Western World we live in today. This episode aims to unpack that and allow me to do my part... more so seeing how my POV/mindset has aged in the last 3 years from my initial stance.
Charlie Chaplin said "To truly laugh, you must be able to take your pain, and play with it!" and in that same sense if we are to be taking note of our little quirks and stereotypes, How secure are we in realizing whats a toxic trait in our culture and what's not?!?
What's a tradition we need to preserve while living in foreign soil and what's something we need to add to our bag to better flourish as the "East African" society we are that's still going strong since ancient times.
On the 1st episode we will be focusing on Seasonal DVLPMNT. For today's approach, we'll be looking at knowing when you as a creative have leveled up and what to do about it or where to go next. As we kick off this series and begin to unpack different areas of life as we know it, I'd like to get the ball rolling by discussing the 3 listed topics on today's title "Influences, Idolization, & How to Cope with Criticism."
