In its current form, the Western Australian youth justice system acts as a revolving door. Young people enter the system, and due to a lack of constructive measures, find themselves in and out of that system for many years. Ashleigh Small is the founder of the Hello Initiative, a Perth-based charity looking to bring this revolving door to a halt. Fostering strong relationships with young West Australians and developing landmark programs in the justice area, the organisation is one of the leading voices pushing for reform.
