Hosted by Sam Dhu, Psychotherapist & Clinical Social Worker this podcast is designed to help you connect with the science and soul of owning your worthiness so that you show up confidently in all areas of your life.
Jess Miller is a somatic strategist, mum to seven-year-old Charlotte, and fierce believer that building your business shouldn’t cost you your life.
After walking away from a multi-award winning 7-figure business because she was no longer willing to sacrifice her health, relationships and happiness on the altar of ‘success’, Jess created a new definition for herself – one that’s rooted in safety, simplicity & self-trust.
With degrees in economics and communications, training in the nervous system, and trauma-informed coaching, and decades of experience in both owning and operating multiple businesses as well as supporting countless others, Jess brings a potent blend of strategy, somatics, and soul to her work where she helps values-driven changemakers to redefine success on their terms and intentionally craft a business that feels like home.
In today’s episode Jess & Sam discuss
What peace and profit looks like in the lives and businesses of Jess’s clients and the women they’ve supported inside The Slow Mastermind
What having riches AND richness means to each of them
Practical ways you can increase your profits without increasing your stress levels

It’s been a little while since I shared an episode of the Permission To Podcast with you – but that’s often the reality at this time of the year. Throw in all the “end of the year events” with preparing for holidays, running a business AND Frankie’s birthday – there’s a lot going on!
I’m sure you can relate to this – when you have too many things on at the same time, it can soon become overwhelming and you end up not enjoying any of it.
This is why it’s important to know when to say “no” so you don’t find yourself getting to this point during this time of the year. This most beautiful time of the year can often feel not so beautiful when you forget to prioritise yourself and your needs.
So in today’s episode of the Permission To Podcast I’m talking to you about saying “no” and why it’s probably easier than you think. I also share the reason you find saying “no” so hard (which might surprise you!).
If you’re ready to say “NO” – let’s dive in.

This is a super personal episode about how sisterhood healed me.
The reason I believe so deeply in sisterhood is because what I (and the psychotherapy community generally) believe is that change, and transformation happen through relationships with others and our relationship with ourselves.
On a personal level, I believe so much in the power of sisterhood and group experiences, because I was part of a four-year group experience which changed my life and healed me on so many levels.

A question that has been coming up a lot lately is what does self worth have to do with expansion. In this episode I’ll answer this question as well as:
Exploring how a women with self worth shows up in the world
Understand how self worth and expansion are interconnected
Dive deeper into the relationship between self worth and expansion
What I know to be true is that when I am stretching myself, growing, taking courageous action / expanding, this is when my self-worth needs to be strongest but it's also when I feel my most vulnerable. This is why the concept of self worth is so key when it comes to expansion.

Often the energy of those stories becomes bigger than the actual desire, or sitting with the uncertainty of if what we desire is possible becomes too much, so we put our lid on those desires. Working with thousands of women over the last 15 years, one of the biggest myths I've uncovered in my practice is that low self worth is only something that people who are struggling experience. Or to flip that on its head, the myth is that successful / high achieving women never have challenges with their self worth.
This is entirely untrue.
You can be a high achiever and a confident human being and still have low self worth.
In fact, there is a strong correlation between low self worth and high achievement, because so often low self worth can be a powerful motivator behind your drive to succeed, because you are continually striving to prove your worthiness - accomplishing one thing after the other.
For example, if you have low self worth, you may have developed an internal rule to protect yourself from the pain of not feeling good enough. And that rule may be something like if I achieve, if I’m the best at … then I’m enough.
This is why so often we see perfectionism, burn out and low self worth going hand in hand.

This week’s episode is part two of the Permission To Change Your Mind podcast.
Chances are, if you’re feeling stuck in an area of your life - it’s a mindset problem.
Of course, I want to acknowledge that we all face circumstances and challenges that are out of our control, and the context of our world is important, but so often we don’t have control over those things.
This is why mindset work can be so empowering - because it allows us to focus on something that we can work on, instead of focusing on those things that we can’t change.
What we can change is our mindset and the stories we are telling ourselves.
That’s why this episode is called Permission To Change Your Mind …
So how do we do that? - it’s all about changing those stories.
Things You’ll Learn In This Episode of Permission To
What to do when you’re finding it hard to re-write the stories
What action to take every day to make sure you maintain the changes
How you can take action to prove that a story isn’t true

Sam is an Enneagram coach for coaches and service based business owners. She is a qualified life coach, accredited Enneagram practitioner and has recently completed training in Enneagram for teams.
Back in 2017 she was introduced to the Enneagram via a leadership course. Learning her enneagram type gave her permission to stop trying to fit into the boxes that were never made for her and start to embrace her strengths.
After having her first born she trained as a life coach and realised what an asset it would be to understand her client’s enneagram type to support them on a deeper level and went on to get accredited in the Enneagram.
Her mission is for women to understand their Enneagram type so they can have a deeper awareness of themselves and how they see the world, so they can embrace their strengths and start to show up as their real selves in both business and life.
Sam is a mum to two boys, who she raises with her husband on the picturesque North West coast of Tasmania with their labradoodle Millie.

I’m so excited about today’s episode. I am interviewing my dear friend and client Lucy-Anne Lewis about her body acceptance journey, the mindset shifts it required and some tips and tools to help you get started on your body acceptance journey too!
About Lucy-Anne
Lucy is a fat babe, a rebel and a body acceptance coach. She's both a qualified counsellor and qualified life coach. She is anti-diet, and pro self-love. Her mission is to help women accept their bodies so that they can be more confident and live their joy.
After spending far too much of her life trying to change her body, and being afraid to take up space in the world and follow her own joy, she thought she might try accepting her body instead, and it changed her life.
Lucy no longer spends time worrying about her body, or letting it hold her back from life. Instead, she follows her joy every single day, because there is nothing wrong with her body. And she wants you to know that there is nothing wrong with your body either.
Lucy is also a Mum to a firecracker 5 year old named Tilly, married to her best friend, and they live in the Perth Hills together with their Sausage Dog Kransky, rescue cat Buffy and new addition, Popcorn the axolotl.

I've been having a lot of conversations with women who feel like their dreams are too big
They are thinking things like “who am I to want something bigger or different?” and “shouldn't I just be grateful?”
A lot of these women think they already have great careers or businesses that are doing ok, and they want more but worry about what other people will think
What if you could give yourself permission to go after what you really want?
How do we learn to accept the body we have instead of the body we think we should have.
How do we start seeing our body as more than something that is there to serve & please others (by looking a certain way/ by pleasing others/performance etc)
How do we respond when someone makes unhelpful comments about our body image &/or size
If you’ve ever noticed that you…
👉Have a dream that you really want to achieve but instead you find that time just keeps passing you by without any real progress.
👉Feel like you never have enough time to work on your dreams. ⏱️
👉Have an inner critic that is forever telling you that you are a procrastinator
Then today’s episode of Permission To is for you. It’s time to uncover the root causes of your procrastination and start prioritising YOU. The life of your dreams is waiting.
It’s time for a very important conversation - how YOU can be a genuine ally and advocate for people of colour..

If you’ve ever told yourself…
When it’s all done, then I can take a break or then I can have fun...
Or when my kids are older, then I can do something for myself...
Or when I'm qualified or when I'm earning six figures in my biz then I’ll rest…
Today’s episode of Permission To is for YOU - it’s time to change the way you think about play and rest.
The reality is that the things you want to do rarely happen - instead you end up at the bottom of the to-do list feeling tired, unproductive and uninspired.
I honestly believe that in a society that’s obsessed with productivity and achievement, choosing rest and play is a radical act.
Especially in a culture that equates rest with laziness and success with constant hard work.
But what if we flipped it on it’s head and prioritised rest and play?!
Because you ARE important. And your needs are important too.
So in today’s episode I’m sharing the importance of having a balance between rest, play and work and some practical steps you can take to start making space for relaxation and fun in your life.
If you’re ready to prioritise YOU - let’s begin.

Welcome to the first official episode of Permission To.
I’m ready to dive into permission to own your worthiness and expand into your wildest dreams.
Self worth is one of my favourite topics to work on with my clients.
Over many years I’ve worked on my self worth to go from being in a toxic relationship and self sacrificing my needs at work and in my relationships to feeling as free as a bird, travelling the world, meeting a beautiful man, becoming a mama and starting my own 6 figure business.
This of course didn’t happen overnight - our self worth and the beliefs we have about our worthiness are built over a lifetime so it makes sense that they take time to shift.
In today’s episode I share a little bit of my personal journey with self worth as well as some practical practical tools with you that you can experiment with to own your worthiness.
