Everyone has to invest. Everything worldly is temporary. Every pleasure becomes less or bitter. Every social media influencer eventually loses his influence and every artist loses its hype. This is worldly life. Anyone who invests in this will be left empty-handed. Allah says: "The Day on which neither wealth nor sons will be of benefit. Except he who brings to Allah a clean heart." al-Shu'ara, 88-89.
Working on a clean heart always leads to increase. It makes everything in this life sweeter. The prayers, the favors, even troubles and misfortunes become beautiful. The investment of such a person knows no loss, only gain in this life and the next. May Allah fill our hearts with light.
In the Western worldview, man has only five outer senses and a physical brain. Islam teaches that man has more than six inner senses: the spiritual heart (qalb), the soul (ruh), the intellect ('aql), the secret (sirr), the hidden (gafi) and the deeper hidden. (agfaa). These are all senses that have their own perception. And scholars have different definitions for them. These are inner treasures to invest in, to see worlds that the eye does not see:
"So We have shown Ibrahim the spiritual worlds of the heavens and earth, so that he is one of those who believed with certainty." al-An'am, 75.
This is Islamic psychology. It is about finding harmony and order between all the inner things with which Allah has favored man, as being the armies of man. Allah says: 'And none knows Allah's armies except Him'. Surah al-Mudassir.
This requires a Shaykh who knows how to clean the heart in addition to the obligatory deeds, properly arrange the inner kingdom and open our inner senses to see the spiritual worlds.
