Built on the word Surya, a Sanskrit word meaning The Sun, the festival honours the sun and runs during daylight hours from sunrise to sunset. Participants gather at dawn and welcome the sun with 108 Sun Salutations class. The day ends at sunset with a closing Kirtan.
The event included 15+ yoga and meditation classes that take place outdoors on the grounds of the Kemptville Campus, where the large trees provide shade and the green grass and fresh air provides healing.
