I have been thinking about this concept for a moment now. So many people are talking about the concept of submissiveness, and wouldn't you know, I saw the word submissive listed as a synonym for tame.
Many women are taught to look at being a wife as more of an identity, instead of a role. It's a role that requires certain things from you, but it's not everything you are, nor is it the most important thing you are.
To tame something means to make it less powerful, docile, more cooperative...
On the other hand women are so dynamic, powerful, life giving, challenging, awe-inspiring...I could continue. Wy would you ever want to tame any of it?
We get to a place where we don't recognize our true nature any more, but we've become masters of closet audits and the illusion of multitasking. Oh my word, what will happen if we tap into the storm that lies dormant underneath?
The relationship you have with your spouse is a direct reflection of the relationship you have with yourself...
Find out, today!
Purpose is an interesting thing isn't it? Something so ambiguous can make such a big impact! Wives don't put your purpose on the back-burner in an effort to put your husband's out front. I know it's tempting, but I promise you there is a better way. I find that many women are entering into marriage with the concept that a man will make them better. Spending time to dim your own light, trying to make his shine brighter, then hoping everyone will be better off. I'm familiar with this thinking because I was this woman. Today, I'm a different type of wife.
With all of that said, my goal is to help wives create the space to be the woman they were designed to be. Your value does not come from your husband. When you are walking in your purpose you are more valuable to yourself, and those around you.
I had to become a woman of purpose before I could look at becoming a better wife, mother, employee, or business owner. Purpose helped me better define how to be whole in all of these areas, and show up differently.
You better believe it! You are on a journey where you are trying to be bigger and better in this world. You are trying to show up and show out! You are trying to walk in your purpose, and here come the self-saboteur! Always so loud, and so negative...ready to shut it all down, but not today. :)
You can stop that negative voice right in its tracks! Here are 3 simple steps to get out of your own way, when you know you are destined for greatness!
Be unreasonable - stop trying to make your dreams small and reasonable. If they are easy to achieve it's likely not a dream, but a goal.
Be obsessive - not in an unhealthy way where this turns into negative addictive behavior. Instead, let your vision fuel you, and pursue it like you know it can't fail, like it's already happened, and like you've already won!
Be thankful - for all that's going well in your life, and with intention, feel the emotions that come from you having these amazing things, experiences, people, resources...you name it, allow yourself to smile or laugh when you think about it. The Universe loves to send you more of what you are putting out into the Universe.
Expect the Extraordinary!
Have you been thinking about doing something that you know is going to benefit you or others around you? Yeah, how much longer are you going to let it simply be a thought?
So many of us have incredible gifts to share with the world, but we let fear rob us of the opportunity...
Today I am challenging you to do it differently! Now is the time to pull out the 4 BIG questions that will help you break down any problem or fear you are battling...
I loooove self-inquiry!!!
Can you find happiness at work? Isn't work supposed to be challenging?
You can certainly be challenged and fulfilled...but, if you want to have both, stop looking for happiness. JOY is really what you want.
How can you create the extraordinary? How can you find this JOY?
Life is a journey full of lessons learned, peppered with moments of Joy!!!
These lessons will require growth and could potentially be painful. However, they are so impactful.
This episode delves into what I would tell my daughter to do differently in her life....
1. Trusting the opinions of others before your own...
2. Getting married so early in life...
3. Discovering purpose so late in life...
I am certainly modeling and teaching her to do it differently, removing attachment and accessing her truth...
That’s a heavy question isn’t it? For me it was quite burdensome and hard to answer.
Once I really sat down and asked myself the 4 tough questions, I realized that I don’t have to find my purpose…instead, life is a gift that has allowed me to discover my purpose.
Currently, it is to change the world, by helping women create and connect to what’s extraordinary in theirs!
That just sets me on fire when I think about it!!!
What’s setting you on fire today?
