On the “Bibles & Beer” podcast, we like to taste new beers, have a drink & wind down from the previous week, and discuss what’s going on in our lives and how the Bible applies to that. You aren’t going to find overly religious people & conversations. We believe in God, his son Jesus that died on the cross, and we are saved thru that sacrifice and the grace God showed through that historical event. We are ordinary, down to earth guys, that are NOT “holier than thou”. We have kids (in public schools), and wives (that give us “to-do” lists around the house now and then. Most of all, we like to hang out, have a good time together, and joke around while having a drink and keeping God at the center of it. Beer has a bad reputation in Christianity, due to people that abuse it and ruin their own lives. Jesus turned water into wine, and I believe if he was on the podcast with us, he’d turn our water into beer, but then again, my IPA friends hassle me that BudLight already did that… And we thank Budweiser for that! Ecclesiastes 3:12-13
This episode is all about why we created this podcast!
Fall football season has arrived, and there have been some questionable calls by NFL refs. Football season is also one reason this episode is well over due. Soles has two of his three kids in school football 2-3 nights a week, and Ronnie's daughter started volleyball about the same time, on a fourth night of the week. However, we discuss how to resolve that issue.
We'll also talk about why we created the "Bibles & Beer Show" podcast. It may be controversial based on the name, but we'll discuss why we believe alcohol is not bad and how Jesus showed up at a party that ran out of alcohol, and made them more so the party could go on.
Lastly, we'll discuss some different beers, and what we like vs. what we don't like in a drink. We're hoping Stone Cold will reach out, and we plan on some future guests for interviews.
This episode's verse is our podcast theme verse:
12 So I concluded there is nothing better than to be happy and enjoy ourselves as long as we can. 13 And people should eat and drink and enjoy the fruits of their labor, for these are gifts from God. -Ecclesiastes 3:12-13
