The Break It Better family is a group of friends who have assembled to help restore healthy communication in an ever divided and hostile cultural moment. We hope to foster meaningful and thought provoking conversation and seek a deeper understanding of ideas and individuals who may think differently than ourselves.
Today we explore the topic of Masculinity and what it means to be a man.
(Audio quality really dropped off at the end and we apologies for that)

This week we are joined by Jason, former military who served in conflicts following 9/11.
This episode is labeled explicit because of the graphic nature of some of the things discussed.
Where were you on 9/11?

This is an older episode from the fall of 2021.
The Break it Better crew (Minus Nathan) through the lens of our Enneagram numbers.
Roe V Wade has been overturned. Some celebrate, while others mourn. This is not a debate, argument or persuasive discussion. This is four women from different backgrounds coming together and processing what it is that they feel and what they are experiencing in wake of the news. Wherever you find yourself now or which side of the fence you are on, we hope that you find this conversation encouraging and that it would give you hope for more conversations between groups and individuals in the future.
DTR’s, broken hearts and Cody and his wife, Leslie, sharing their story of getting together. The Break It Better Crew discuss the age old question that, (maybe 33-year-old film) “ When Harry met Sally” seeks to answer. Can men and women just be friends?
Nathan's Notes:
Can a dude and dudette be friends with the opposite sex (gender)?
Cooper said Katniss was “very wise”.
"Life Is Hard, Then You Die" This is not a message of hopelessness but a call to accept the trials of life and respond with joy because life is too short to be overcome with bitterness and discontent.
In this episode we are joined by Michael, a boomer. He walks us through some of his experiences with those who came before him and his current perspective and folks like us, those who have come after.
Nathan's Notes:
Mike had mentioned “when I was a kid, I didn’t try to understand my parents or the younger kids. I just did it my way.”
The Boomer generation uses the phrase: “Oh that’s not the way to do it.” “This is how we’ve always done it.” “This is how I would do it.” It’s interesting when younger generations try to do something different they come up against this phrase from the Boomers about not doing it their way anytime we try to do it differently.
"OK Boomer", is a common phrase shared among the younger generation who believe the ideals of those above 58 (or really anyone perceived as old) are archaic or insensitive. Is the voice of a boomer outdated? Is it time for the next generation to take the wheel? This week we explore our experiences with the older generation and how it may not be so simple.
Moses Ingram. Amanda Todd. Two of the names that are in conversation these days when it comes to cyberbullying. What is cyberbullying exactly? What are its effects in your daily life? And are there really any laws against it? Listen to Cooper and Katniss discuss in this week's podcast.
In this Episode we are joined by, Kait Day, the founder and operator of Nowaday Studio. It is a branding + marketing studio, specializing in brand identity design, social media management, and all things digital marketing. Check out her incredible business at nowadaystudio.com. Kait unpacks her experience from a corporate employee to a small business owner and how that has given her unique insight into the current global resignation and the Anti-Work movement.
Before we began releasing to the public, we recorded a series of conversations as we familiarized ourselves with the tools and skills required to make a podcast.
This episode was from Fall, 2021 and our first ever recording.
Music provided by BendSound.
Work, The Great Resignation and the Anti-Work movement. These have become common subjects around tables all over the world. Is there something complex and beautiful at work under the surface or is our generation sensitive and lazy? In this episode we share our own work experiences, observations of previous generation's work cultures and where we could be headed ourselves.
