Casual Conversations was born in early 2020 when I (Jahna) felt drawn to connect people in need of support with the changes happening in business. It started as live chats on Social Media, which has now evolved into Casual Conversations - The Podcast.

The focus is to share real life conversations about business, celebrating success, acknowledging struggles and finding tools to Navigate and move forward.

Episode #14 - Guest Episode with Shalini from Love Your Legals

I had the pleasure of finding and working with Shalini maybe twelve months ago - to bring up to date all the agreements within Keeping Balance.    Since then we have worked on a number of projects for my business and Shalini’s approach put me at ease in knowing that what I have is RIGHT FOR ME.

Shalini and I talk about all things legal, the importance of reviewing all the legal aspects that you may need in business.  During our chat we talked in depth about having an E Commerce, selling digital products site and what the legal templates you may need to include to ensure you are protected in your business.

Hope you enjoy

Episode #12 - Guest Episode with Amy from Amy Willis Consultancy

I met Amy Willis a couple of years ago when identifying a gap in my skills in helping a client with their team.  I reached out to chat to Amy and the rest is history so they say.

Amy and I delve into the topic of Leadership which you will be able to tell by our conversation that Amy is very passionate and skilled in this area.  Hear us talk about Leadership as it relates to working in teams and how business owners are having to adapt to the “new normal” as employees are no longer just settling for the normal nine to five.

As always, I hope you get some gems out of this one and you find points that may benefit you when working with your team.

Hope you enjoy

Episode #11 - Guest Episode with Kim from The Social Child

WARNING: In this episode we discuss issues and experiences that could trigger distress. We talk about our own experience with bullying, mental health and what impact it is having on the community and suicide within young persons.

If you or someone you know is experiencing bullying, harassment please seek the appropriate support or seek your own professional medical advice.

Resources available for people needing support are:

  • Kids Helpline: 1800 55 1800
  • Beyond Blue: 1300 22 4636
  • Lifeline: 13 11 14
  • Do it for Dolly: https://dollysdream.org.au/get-help/

It was such a pleasure to have Kim as my second guest on Casual Conversations. Kim and I met ten years ago at the Gympie Muster when I hung out on the Country Music scene. Fast forward and Kim is one of my valued clients, she is a friend and someone that I can talk to at length across all topics.

During this episode we spoke extensively about Kim’s creation that is The Social Child. Her journals, resources and tips to help families support children who may be experiencing bullying and how to build confidence and resilience in kids.

We also talk about being in business with your partner (husband) and how it’s ok to acknowledge you want a business, or project for yourself. Kim has done just that and walked the path with her husband to ensure that he is doing what he loves, she supports him in what she is good at - that back end whilst pursuing her own business ventures.

We also dove into the topic of VALUE, about working for FREE or for low rates - which for both of us has impacted how we feel about our work. Whilst neither of us has studied Money Mindset we both have lived experience about the FLOW of money and the impact of it - when we work for FREE.

There are lots of gems in this one, particularly for people who work with their partner in business.

Hope you enjoy
