The Groovers Radio Show is a DJ-Mix show on one of the best Internet House Radio Stations in the world named Freak31.
We present ours show every Friday from 8 till 11PM Amsterdam Time (CET / GMT+1)on Freak31.com. With a new Show from 8 till 9PM, from 9 till 10PM the show from the week before and from 10 till 11PM a random selection of our previous shows. Next to that you can listen to a random replay every Wednesday from 8 till 9PM.
The Groovy Sound is a musical vibe that is not related to one genre. Multiple different music styles can have the groovy element, and we want to present them to you as much as possible.

Mr. Jay invited his dear friend Yade to come up with a one hour mix for the After Wiork Radioshow.
2005 is the year Yade (’86) aka Judith van Ark discovered the music scene. As being a dancing teacher at that time, hyping up her classes with her energy, she was born to be a performer. Drizzled by a small virus that is called music, one and one made two. And so she started her dj-career back in 2006. 5 years after, she started to develop her production skills, focusing on the Tech-House sound which she fully embraced.
Not easily satisfied, she waited for the right time to go public with her best massive banger productions and it was effective immediately.
Then unfortunately, because of personal circumstances, Yade had to step out of the music-scene around 2018 and she left it open if she would ever return. In 2020 she became a proud mom and she fully focussed herself on her motherhood. But as we all know, Blood is thicker than water.
And so last year she decided to come back and put her energy out there again! People embrace her because of her genuineness and endless energy when performing. When she’s behind the decks, it’s hard to not be moved by her, that’s a thing we can assure you.

Simon Titus, a powerhouse in the music scene, hails from Reading and has been a prominent figure in Amsterdam for over 2 decades. Starting as MC Spyder, he introduced the UK garage sound to the Netherlands, captivating audiences and earning residency at the iconic RoXY.
Over the years, Simon's journey led him to explore various music genres, from UK Funky to Tech house and with Shake Up Projects, impressing with pop-up gigs all around Holland. Who are these Two Old Fools - TOF?
B& and Mikee, 2 old hands in the DJ scene, have come across each other's path over the years with their passion for house classics, among other things. They have joined forces with the idea of reviving the feeling of the past together as Two Old Fools - TOF.
As an organization they focus on giving house parties from the early 90's and have set up the act Two Old Fools - TOF as a b2b dj duo. The music from the time of the founding fathers and glory days of house music, which was played in the famous clubs such as RoXY - iT and Mazzo, will pass by at the House Classics events as if time has stood still.
Two Old Fools - TOF wants to bring the audience back the feeling of the past and let you enjoy it again as if you are standing on that warm and sweaty dance floor again with house music from your favorite clubs and DJs blowing from the speakers.

Mikee’s passion for music started when he was a young boy, listening to all kinds of music. Started recording tapes and made his own mixes when he was just a little kid. At the age of 18 he travelled across the country as a dj when a good friend started a drive-in disco show.
Years later, the passion for music stayed and grew, even when he stopped being a dj. However, you can’t take away the passion. A bunch of family and friends saw that he wanted to play the music, and that was the turning point. They gave him a beautiful gift on his surprise birthday party:
2 turntables and some vinyl to start mixing again!
From that moment onwards he started collecting different styles of house music and started spinning behind the wheels of steel again!
When he started again, his first performance was on a dj contest, and won! He was given the opportunity to perform at Best Oldskool Events (BOE), and from that moment Mikee played on Ibiza, on festivals like Electronic Picnic, Last Minute Summer Event, Luilak Festival, RelaXation Micro Festival. Also in clubs like Escape, The Sands, Hollywood Music Hall, P3 and on internet radio at Amsterdam Most Wanted.
Mikee is known for his enthusiastic performance and for playing funky groovy tunes. His style is a mix of house, deephouse and techhouse. He is the co-founder of Funky Fellas together with his son Bart, and is also co-founder of Two Old Fools (TOF), together with his friend B&.
Mikee hosted his first own party at Strand West in Amsterdam, and his son Bart aka Noose played at that gig too! Spinning back 2 back with Noose was and still is a great experience, and sharing the same passion for music is awesome! Therefore Funky Fellas was the next step to make. Noose and Mikee (Funky Fellas) hosted their own parties since 2014 called House of Zo, which was a huge success, in Holland and even on Ibiza!
Two Old Fools (TOF) hosted house classics parties and are also a dj duo. They have organized a number of successful house classics parties. As a dj duo they will perform at a number of festivals this summer.

Sarah May has had a connection with music since she was a young girl. Surrounded by her father a well respected musician, she grew up with lots of Love & Music. Susanne Alt is a saxophone player, dj and producer, based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. She has been leading her own jazz band and playing alongside dj's since 1999. In 2015, Alt was asked by a booker if she's also dj'ing and as a joke she said "yes". To her dismay she discovered that this answer had consequences, she just got her first booking as a dj! Quickly she had to catch up and prepare a set.One thing lead to another, her soulful deep and funky sound immediately got picked up within the Amsterdam nightlife. Performing live sets as a unique saxophonist-dj lead to an unexpected expansion of Alt's career and also her dj-only sets (without sax) are in high demand.Developing these new skills also lead to her new band "Venus Tunes Live", an all-female dj/live act: One vocalist, one percussionist and one saxophonist, all dj'ing and performing originals in the mix with other hot tracks. Michael Pieterse’s love for electronic music already started at a young age when he was listening to the popular Dutch Turn Up The Bass compilations. He was still only 12 years old when he first started practising mixing with turntables at a friend’s house.
For his 13th birthday he got his own two turntables and a mixer and from that moment on it was all about becoming a DJ. His record collection started to grow quickly from trance to hardcore and from house to hip hop. Now a days Michael owns thousands of records and his love for crate digging is basically never ending. His broad taste in music and knowledge of records is the way Michael Pieterse likes to distinguish himself during his DJ sets. Meanwhile, next to DJ'ing Michael developed more and more interest in producing. His releases so far on renowned labels such as Soul Revolution, Plastik People and Pogo House records have been well received in the garage house scene.
Michael Pieterse’s style ranges from house to deep house and garage. Garage in particular has always been one of Michael’s favourite styles. He loves to play everything from the deep US garage house vibes to the more bumpy UK stuff. Michael is also releases music as MPX Project with fellow garage music lover Xamount.

Lady Deep invited DJ Carlito (Carlos Vigelandzoon) for an hour session on this weeks Groovers After Work Radioshow.
A small introduction:
DJ Carlito is one of the best kept secrets from the Amsterdam underground dance music scene today. With a remarkable list of clubs, countries, events, parties and festivals both national and international he shares his dj skills for over 30 years now.
A true player with an allround vision, Carlito moved to Amsterdam at the age of 17 where his talent got picked up various dj’s and club owners and soon got his first residency at Club Havana. DJ Carlito (then DJ Carlos) was the youngest DJ ever to infiltrate the Amsterdam club scene.
During the 1990’s Carlito had residencies or played frequently in the most famous clubs in Amsterdam like Club Havana, Richter, RoXY, IT, Paradiso, Sinners in Heaven, Melkweg, Odeon, Naar Boven, Dansen bij Jansen and The Escape to name a few.
In 2000, he got busy with a new sound called UK Garage, which later became 2 Step. DJ Carlito became a key player and one of the main resident dj’s of the (Melkweg, Amsterdam)organizing parties and playing together with Afrika Bambaataa, MJ Cole, Zed Bias, Artful Dodger, Craig David, Stanton Warriors, The Streets Dee Kline, Femme Fatale and many more.
In 2002 Carlito teamed up with his brother, DJ Urvinson (DJ, remixer, songwriter & producer) to launch a fresh and vibrant concept named: Brothers in Harmony which includes live musicians playing over their DJ set. Since then, they built a reputation for their tight, funky sets and no- nonsense musical choices. Over the last 30 years of his career Carlito played alongside DJs like Armand van Helden, Derek Carter, Ricky Montenari, Alton Miller, AtJazz, Osunlade, Karizma, Raphael Morais, Ian Pooley to name a few.
In 2017 he became the new music curator of the Art’Otel and 5&33 in Amsterdam where he was already a resident dj since 2013. At the moment you can find him spinning on a weekly or monthly bases in the A’DAM Tower, Supperclub Cruise, The Hoxton Amsterdam, The Tropen Amsterdam, Twenty Seven, “W” Amsterdam, The Harbour Club and in the international club and the hotel scenary all over the world.
DJ Carlito is currently at work on his own dual label called Software for Soul Recordings and Hardware for Soul Recordings. The vision of Software for Soul Recordings is an allround open-minded community for upcoming artists as well as established musicians, dj’s, re-mixers, producers and artists collaborations and contributions on what they love and believe in most of their own music. The vision of Hardware for Soul Recordings is a harder sound with its roots more into Breakbeats, Drum & Bass, Ecstatic Dance Techno and Beyond…

Marcus Patty is a passionate DJ and record collector from Amsterdam. He doesn't like to be pigeonholed when it comes to style and prefers to be guided by the groove and funk in the music. Marcus can be seen live in various places in Amsterdam but also beyond.

John Wolff traded a lifestyle of potential soon to become professional football player and the ambiance of football stadiums to that of night clubs, outdoor festivals and exclusive after party sessions. Purely because this is his passion and ambition, with making music and playing records. Sharing it among friends on dance floors and with like-minded people.

This time The Groove Supplier is our guest DJ in this Episode 22#14
The Groove Supplier started producing soulful and funky house in 2005 under the name 'd-reflection'. But his love for funk, soul, disco and other related genres expanded when he started to work as a marketer in 2012 at the North Sea Jazz Club in Amsterdam. This also changed his music selection. By sharing and playing these type of music, he changed his artist name into The Groove Supplier.
Over the past few years he discovered that he had a strong preference for songs with a 'four-on-the-floor' beat, catchy vocals, horns, a funky bass-line and the electronic sound from 80s funk and disco music. Expect a carefully selected mix from classics and brand new grooves when you see and hear him play.
Resident DJ Lady Deep created another groovy mix with the best house remixes. This is Groovers After Work in full effect.
Amsterdam Based DJ Noa is the next Guest on Groovers After Work Radio Show. More than 20 years, DJ Noa is a familiar face in different venues such as clubs, cafe/restaurants, Festivals and Events. Her passion for music originated from the 80s with Prince and Madonna as her favourites. When she started to go out, you could find her almost every week on the dance floor of her favorite club The RoXy. This is how her passion for dance and house music started to lift off. After dancing one night, she went with her record collection to various after parties, spinning her funky techno beats. Afterwards Noa was regularly booked and she was almost every week on New Dance Radio, Slam FM and ID&T radio with her mixtapes. Over time, she got more variety in her bookings including many for corporate events. Due to these bookings her love for groovy lounge music started grow. Noa is certainly not an average DJ, she has her own groovy sound in all different kind of genres. Almost everything is negotiable, from lounge, 80s, 90's, disco, top hits to solid house beats!

He mostly makes house oriëntated music with jazz, funk, soul & garage influences. In May 2021 he released his debut album 'Save The Day'. Optimism and Festive feelings are his musical goals.

Radikal Roy is the next Guest DJ on our Groovers After Work Radioshow. He has Passion for Real Housemusic and started his dj career in the early 90’s. Label honcho of his label Radikal Rhythm, and played his tunes all around the world from Dubai to Switzerland and resident in his hometown Amsterdam. He was a regular guest at the "Defected in the House" parties when they first landed in the Amsterdam Club scene. With his resident spots like, Satchmo, Mr.Porter Kitchen & Bar, Van Rijn & De Kroon, Radikal Roy has the skills to entertain the crowd with his groovy sounds.

Groovers After Work Episode 10. This time Guest DJ Martien V. was invited by Mr. Jay to do a mix for the first hour.

Born and raised in Amsterdam, it has been one long musical journey for her. As a kid, she learned to play the piano and drums. At a very young age she started collecting all kinds of Music and developed a great passion for Electronic Music in general, particularly House Music.
Sound: “Deep layered bass lines and sharp high hats run through it like a continuous thread, always bound together in a Tuneful, Melodic way”.
However Martien prefers to play underground Deep House and House, she also really likes to play genres like Disco, Hiphop, Soul, Funk & Jazz.

This time he was going through his collection of Afro / Latin and tropical Groovy sounds when his ears kept playing certain tracks from one particular artists named DANY COHIBA. He decided to mix an hour with only tracks from DANY. Hopefully you like it. We certainly do.

Her roots stem from disco (New York Studio 54/ Larry Levan Paradise Garage sound), soul, funk, jazz to underground (Chicago) house (Frankie Knuckles) with a twist of Detroit techno (Jeff Mills, Derrick Carter).

Sarah May has had a link with music since she was a young girl. Surrounded by her father a well respected musician she grew up with lots of Love & Music. Instead of going for a soccer training she decided to learn to play piano and the drums for a few years. Soon she developed A big and truly passion for electronic music and especially House Music. The inspiration and journey to become a dj started.
Nowadays, her name appears in the booths of the best clubs in Amsterdam, Ibiza and highlighted the yearly returning CanalGayPride Amsterdam with an audience of thousands of people. And she is still working hard to expand her field.
In her dj sets she gives A well blend mixture of genres that go from DeepHouse, TechHouse and NUdisco to building it up and balancing it with the most raw dirty cuts with their own distinctive House grooves. This unique sound, her elegance and entertaining in the booth, Sarah May has learned the art of reading a dance floor and is an excellent vibe creator.
She can give a stylish performance like no other combined with a little taste of the Ibiza Vibe.

Groovers presents our next guest DJ Dave Hipke a.k.a DU Baron, born in The Hague, came into contact with all kinds of music at an early age. He has experienced the entire evolution from vinyl to digital. The technology behind making music inspired him. He turned everywhere to convey his passion for music to the public. Now living in Breda, a city in the south of the Netherlands, his network has grown strongly all over the world but never opted for the big stage himself. Since 2010 he shares his passion and experience with new talent as owner of the International DJ School based in Breda. In 2021 he started to play the best Disco hit re-works, called NuDisco, under the name Du Baron. Du Baron is loosely translated from the baron, meaning he shares and does not take.
