Today's episode is a little different as we've recently moved up some decisions for The Dwelling and Co. Podcast & ministry. Long story short, we are not going anywhere for long but we will be going on a break due to some very exciting personal and family reasons (there is a little exciting announcement you might want to stay tuned for as you listen today!). Listen in to learn more about where we've been with our ministry and where we feel like the Lord is directing us in the future!
We're thankful for each and every one of you!

Welcome back to an extended very special episode of The Dwelling and Co. Podcast! Today we have a longer episode for you full of answers to questions like, "What is your most embarrassing childhood memory?", "If you could write a book tomorrow, what would it be about?", "what is a lesson you once learned that you've applied to life since?" and everything in between. We hope you enjoy getting to hear some stories & moments throughout our lives that have inspired us in our walk with God and spurred us on in our long-lasting friendship!

We've all had that feeling after seeing an engagement photo of a happy couple on Facebook or another baby announcement on Instagram... that twinge of jealousy, which is on the route to comparison. We compare our lives to friends, family, and even complete strangers online and can so easily think what someone else has is definitely better than what God has already given us in our own lives. So today we are chatting about comparison, telling some of our own stories about seasons of life struggling with that and how God redeemed those times, and bringing you some scripture to encourage you as you fight for joy.

As spring and summer approach, we know that around this time there is a lot of talk about "healthy" bodies or how our bodies should look come swimsuit season. It can feel like we are bombarded by culture of what to wear, how much we should weigh, and what are "good or bad" foods. Today we wanted to talk about body image and tell some of our own stories while also bringing it back to what truly matters and who we are in Christ as christians. We hope that you walk away feeling encouraged, whatever your area of struggle or pain around this issue, and that you delight in the God who made you and calls you His.

Winter is still in full swing and for many of us that means we've got the "Winter Blues." We wanted to talk about some encouragement we've found in Scripture for finding joy in these long and cold winter days and some practical ways we've found helpful as we make our way through winter. We hope you find some new ideas and ultimately you feel encouraged to keep fighting for joy!

Welcome back to another week at The Dwelling and Co. Podcast! Talitha has been under the weather recently so we decided to do a special edition of our Holidays at The Dwelling and Co. series by having Elizabeth read one of her "Advent Letters" from last year. If you're new to us, we used to have a full website with a blog and for last year's Christmas season, Elizabeth wrote a letter almost every day of December, sharing her heart and what she was seeing in Scripture during that season. We didn't do that this year but it was a perfect little mini episode to have Elizabeth share something with you today!

October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month so we thought it would be good to highlight it as well as share Talitha's story on miscarriage this year. Talitha wrote her story for our blog but felt that it would be appropriate to share more thoughts on her grief journey especially since we're highlighting this month. If you have also experienced the pain of losing a child, we are so very sorry and are praying for you. If this topic is too painful to hear about, please feel the freedom to skip the episode or come back when it's not as painful to hear. We love you all!

Today we're having an open and honest conversation on some buzz word topics, modesty & purity culture, on this episode of The Dwelling and Co. Podcast!

We're back today with a brand new episode! We begin by addressing the recent passing of Queen Elizabeth II and talking a little about what her death means to us and then we move on to announce some new changes for The Dwelling and Co. We will be transitioning now fully into a podcast-only ministry, releasing episodes on Fridays instead of Mondays, and saying goodbye to our weekly email! We will also be re-introducing a series previously entitled, "It's All on The Table," now rebranded to "Everything on The Table" as we enter this new season. While there are a lot of changes, we are still the same ministry with just with some new directions!

Hi friends! We’re back after our break with a brand new episode of our podcast. We have been planning, praying, and working on a lot of things behind the scenes that we can’t wait to share with you very soon! We decided this week to chat together about why we as humans, specifically Christians, are drawn to stories. We also touch on what we have found to be the “power of story” and how it can impact our lives, and then end with chatting about our Grief and Grace Stories thus far and the reach so far.

David Kessler is the grief guru, so I personally haven't read any of his books, however, I recently listened to him speak on grief and was blown away. He's the real deal, so any of his books, shows would be good to share.
Get a grief journal! Write out all the thoughts, all the feelings, everything you're experiencing for a few reasons: 1) it's a way to get it out of your head and body and onto paper. 2) provides evidence of growth in yourself and your grief journey, because there will be days you need to be reminded you're not at the same point you once were. 3) it can serve as a prayer and scripture journal as well
Get into counseling! You will need to process everything that's happened and you can do that with someone who is trained to listen, trained to help you tap into the feelings you don't want to feel, and will not make the conversation about themselves.
Make a lament playlist of music. I did this and it was SO helpful. I found mostly worship songs that deal with heartache or grief and it's been one of the most healing elements for me in my journey.
Today we have the pleasure of having Stacy Thorpe on the podcast today! Stacy graciously shares her story of church hurt and what walking through that journey of grief has looked like and how she has seen God through her story.
