Myia's story most likely resonates with many who had to choose one sport over another based on a number of reasons including injury. Today marks our last podcast with Coach Sean and Coach Troy. They wrap up their seasons with final thoughts, reflections, and teams on the rise. The men bring back a good core nucleus with a strong JV team. The women bring back all but one player who will be graduating. The programs have a bright future!
Well, Sports Fans the season is coming to an end. Our basketball programs are battered and tired as they head into the final few weeks of the season. Both Coaches chat about how their squads are shaping up and a little convo about the meaning of this season's Seniors.
Today we chat with Troy as the team walked into the hardest stretch of their schedule with losses to Miramonte, Northgate, and Clayton Charter. For some, this is a losing streak, but many who watch this team would say good things are starting to take shape. In the next few days, CP will take on Acalanes and Arroyo, which are both winnable, before their Mondy night game against powerhouse Campolindo. Can the "Men of the Nest" pull off an upset? One of the more successful programs at College Park High School is the Girls Water Polo Program. One of the main reasons for this is CP Alum and current Head Coach Lauren Seidemann. Lauren prides herself on making an impact as a person with a storied career in Girls Water Polo both at CP and then wt UC Davis. This year will mark the final year that Lauren will be the Head Coach at College Park High School leaving some very big shoes to fill. Please sit back and enjoy this amazing lady and her story!
Head Coach John DeLuca is one of those special people. John is a long-time resident of Pleasant Hill where he learned to swim with the Pleasant Hill Aquatics and later Water Polo in his formative years at CP. John came back to CP to help coach the Men's Water Polo team and is now in firm control of one of the more successful sports at College Park. Like most sports, Men's Water Polo has been overachieving with a fairly young team that will be returning all but 4 of its 15 players next year.
