Well we did it, we put a mom on the podcast. We know moms are full of wisdom and have plenty of provocative sayings and stories to make us think.
Swebb's mom - Carolyn Webb, aka Cici - has us thinking about planning for the end of life. And not just the death bed but the years leading up to it. Don't arrive suddenly at the bed side of a loved one in their last days only have to regrets about what wasn't done, said, or planned for.
This isn't morbid, it's honoring, thoughtful, and wise.

It's the last one before 2023. And in pure Think(less) fashion, we decided to give you 364 days of advance notice on these nuggets for Christmas. You can say it's a day late or you can see the brilliance in us being a year early. You decide.
Merry Christmas! We're truly grateful that you listen, share, review, and tell how these episodes hit you. Please tell your friends and share as you listen.
Love you all. And wish you a healthy and happy new year!

John Arthur Greene is smart and speaks to how we can understand and classify our trauma in a healthy way. The former actor on (and off) broadway, as well as many other things, speaks on his story of pain and how some pain we've experienced is partially our fault.

Jon Rush - the husband, dad, pastor, and gamer - says smart things. He said a lot of smart things in this episode too. Then tried to clarify that he doesn't know much since he's just a 30 year old youth pastor. False, Jon. false. You're insightful and spot on. This was a fun conversation that got better and better as it went along. You have to listen to every bit all the way to the final 5 seconds. It's that good.

Politics and church, church and politics. They can't mix, right?
So we asked an actual politician who then become a pastor.
Russell leads a very dynamic, bold, effective church in the Seattle area and as of this writing they've quintupled (aka 5x) their church in just the last 19 months. That's something else we were told can't be done: growing a church in the northwest. And in Covid? No way.
Yet here we are in a fun conversation with a brilliant mind and student of people and leadership.

Trust is loosely defined and should be given not proven. Our lack of trust could come from a lack of clarity and expectations.

"Quit and stay" is when you complain all day about your job but won't act to make it better or decide to move on. That's a really big trend in churches right now too.
Swebb has some solutions and can even get you a job. But whatever you do, suck it up and move on.

This was an episode from earlier in 2022 that was particularly popular and fun. Our good friend, Greg Basch, was in Texas so we all got in a borrowed creepy closet/office thing in Houston and talked about words ... and things.
Greg is one of the executive leaders at Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC and oversees all 20+ locations of the church. He has wisdom beyond his years and is just a good dude all around.
We had a good time with this one and think you will too (or again if you have already).

What you think are opposites may not be opposites. Swebb and Parker help upgrade definitions to terms that could feel in opposition to one another. But guess what, they're not.

A new season!
We do seasons more for us than for you and if you're a regular listener you can see we don't break between seasons. But seasons allow us to make shifts in programming, drive toward certain goals, or simply help us not get bored with something.
So for season 3 we're excited about somewhat shorter episodes, a little more spice in the content, and still sprinkling in great interviews with great thinkers from around the world.
Find and follow us on Instagram and tell us what you're like us to discuss or who you'd like us to interview. Or perhaps you're a Thought(FULL) guest to have on Think(less).

Saul was anointed and 7 days later was king. David was anointed and 22 years later was king. People want to be King in a week. But the things people want so badly given prematurely can hurt substantially.

Eric is the Lead Pastor of Victory City Church in Austin, TX. But he's also a student of communication and preaching, an aspiring chef (who's pretty good at it), and an aspiring-but-got-a-ways golfer. All that to go along with being a husband to Natalie and a father to 4 great kids. Eric is a good encourager by perspective and we know you'll enjoy this conversation!

Nirup lived on 3 continents by 8th grade, got a degree in accounting, and then started a church in the most educated city in the USA. Oh, and he's an emigrant who just became an official US citizen a few weeks before this recording. Of course he's also a dad of 4 boys, a husband to a superhero, and we're sure he fights crime after hours when the kids are asleep.
He's a legitimate contender for "the most interesting man in the world" but leverages all of his experience, exposure, and drive to build people and build the Church.
Pay attention, he goes 0-60 quick.

Sammy is a husband, soon-to-be father, leader, pastor, community facilitator, and one of the most genuine gents you'll ever meet. Pull up a chair for this one.
This conversation left us asking better questions about the simplicity of Jesus, the versions of Jesus we like, and the versions we don't. Sammy challenged us with three questions: Who is Jesus? Where are we going? and What are we taking?

Yes indeed, Parker, our Parker, was a butler to a billionaire. And this episode is his story about doing one of the most unique jobs for one of the wealthiest people.
Two words to best describe this conversation are practical applications. We had a helpful conversation about failing forward, addressing your inner child, and monastic spiritual practices.
Charles is a husband, father, and pastor. But also a brilliant thought leader in communication, creativity, and vulnerability. This episode will help frame how you see yourself, your failures, and your thought patterns.

This one lives up to the podcast name, Think(less), unlike any other. This conversation will make people think, not only about what they haven't thought about, but even about what many don't want to think about. Listen closely here, it'll make your think.
Rusty is legitimately one of the most interesting men in the world. A coffee expert (literally), a farmer, an artist, and a pastor. But before that he's a great husband, dad, and friend with some really good wisdom to offer.

We pushed past a few boundaries in this one. Masculinity isn't toxic, vulnerability isn't weak, and leadership doesn't have to be lonely.
Jonathan Moynihan is a husband, dad, and pastor. But also a brilliant mind with his own podcast, a former journalist, and has one of the biggest vocabularies without the condescension. Pay attention to our friend, JMo.

As Swebb and Parker close down Season 1 of THINKLESS, they reflect on things they liked and learned about their first season of conversations. But the best is for sure yet to come so they provide some clarity on where they are headed as a podcast in Season 2. We want to normalize doing hard things in our lives and the lives around us. But in order to standardize and normalize the hard stuff, it starts with seeing the "hard things" differently. We talk about mindsets and intentional approaches to a couple of different topics but one of those topics is parenting that could help in their development as well as yours. Sometimes the hardest stuff can be the smallest things that we have been procrastinating and putting off. Have we tried to run away from or run to hard things? So our challenge to you today is to GO DO SOMETHING HARD TODAY!

What an amazing opportunity we had to sit down with Wade Joye, the former Elevation Church worship pastor, and Isaac Fernandez, current worship pastor at Victory City Church. We focused on several different topics in this episode like how to not let what you do become your identity, how your ego can get in the way of growth, and how we should be more like Obi-Wan Kenobi versus Luke Skywalker. Enjoy!

In this episode, we discuss the language around healthy transitions. When we quit are we leaving something undone versus completing a mission? Does my frustration lead to asking better questions or stopping short by quitting? We explore it all and more in this episode.
Parker and Swebb get to sit with Greg Basch, who leads all campus leadership at Elevation Church. We talk about life cycles of leadership within the church, self-awareness, and buzzwords that have lost their meaning.
Cliches are manufactured by fear and regret. Cliches betray the lack of original thought by definition. Not all cliches are bad but in this episode we break down the power of original thought.
There are many influencing forces out there that we derive our thinking from, but are you letting other people do the thinking for you? In this episode, we talk about the relationship between fun and productivity, as well as break down what success really looks like.
