As we approach the milestone of turning (almost, for some of us) 30, we find ourselves grappling with the challenges of adulthood and the task of maintaining the precious friendships we have forged over the years. Should we continue to invest our efforts, dedicate our time purposefully to keep these individuals in our lives? At this halfway mark, we analyze the obstacles that arise in preserving lasting friendships and relationships. We deliberate on the choices we make in order to navigate these challenges, aiming to cultivate and evolve alongside the people we hold dear.

Wow - it's - wow. We've wanted to do this for a while now, and have missed multiple opportunities to do so earlier in the year. It's only towards the edge of the calendar year that we'd been able to squeeze in a little bit out of our schedules to get together for this. We've missed you, and we've missed one another. 1.5 years has passed and this is us.

Digressions include everything and anything you can think of, we're still cats with lasers just that we not have less energy.

SPOILER ALERT: We're not in Seattle

This week, we kickstart a three part series surrounding the topic of relationships. For three women on the verge of turning 30, the question "When is it your turn?" has become all too familiar. On this episode, we explore the topic of singlehood and all the questions that comes with it. Is it the pressure of commitment? The value society has imposed on the concept of marriage? Or are we just unskilled at spotting partners? Digressions include dating app horror stories, sushi conveyor belt pet peeves and bad algorithm.

Audioslave once said, "To be yourself is all that you can do," But what if you can't bring yourself to? This week, we bring to the table the subject of self love - to what extent are we capable of loving ourselves? Are we only worthy when someone else loves us? Or are we enough? Being self sufficient, especially when it underscores the topic of body image, is probably a challenge that a lot of us face. Us women especially. In this episode, we embark on this topic citing our personal stories. Digressions include McGriddles, Dina not being able to take a compliment, and empowering women.

This week, we talk about our favourite Malaysian director Yasmin Ahmad and perhaps one of her most powerful films, Sepet. Together with Dina and our very special guest Remy Osman, we discuss the themes that run through the vein of the film and deep dive into our favourite scenes and how the film has provided a lens for the life we've gone on to lead. Our conversation comes from a place of adoration for the late director and her work - all inaccuracies are unintentional (so please call us out on any and we'll fix it!).

A dumb conversation about astrology between two friends based on zero facts, what a way to kick off the first episode! This week, we take you in between the folds of our discussion about birth charts, horoscopes, and Dina reading my astrological chart. Will this at all benefit the pandemic ridden world right now? NO! But will it add a little spice to our mundane, work from home lives? ALSO NO! But if you wanna be a third party to this incoherent mess, we welcome you to Digressions Include.
