For our Christmas Eve service we look at the events surrounding Mary and Joseph's time in Bethlehem. We dispel some traditions that may not be quite accurate and we look at the truth behind there being no room for Mary and Joseph. And we see what having room for Jesus in our lives looks like.
When the angel appeared to Joseph to tell him the miracle of Jesus birth the angel tells Joseph why this baby is being born, to save His people from their sins. And this week we go all the way back to Genesis 12 and journey through thousands of years of history to discover God's faithfulness and the promises He kept in that first Christmas. This week we were so excited to share in Baptism Sunday. Before we did the baptisms Pastor Brad shares with us a little about why we do Baptisms!
This week we are joined by Pastor Barry Marsten. Pastor Barry serves as our unit supervisor, the pastor of Cornerstone Church in Calgary and is, of course, the founding pastor of Hillside Church! Pastor Barry looks at the concept of God's light shining into our lives!
This week Pastor Brad brings our series on the book of Ezra to a close. As we look at the last two chapters of this book we discover that the rebuilding was not just about God's house, but it was about God's people. And we are confronted with trying to understand a very difficult topic, sin. We look at Ezra's journey of confession, repentance and dealing with the fall out that comes from our sinful choices. But through all of it seeing God's faithful, redemptive hand at work.

We were so glad to have Steve and Chanelle Hazeltine with us this past Sunday. Steve and Chanelle are missionaries in Thailand. And they had some time to share with us about their heart for Thailand, their heart for people and even more than that, what Gods heart is toward people and what God has called our heart to be towards people.

And we take those things that we see in the story of the temple and use them to help us to understand what it looks like, or doesn't always look like, when God works in us. In our last session of our Bible Study - Know Your Role - we tackle what many consider to be the definitive passage on the subject of women in leadership. We also take a look at some passages that shed a different light on this important issue.
This week we end our sermon series What Is The Church as Pastor Brad looks at what it means that the Church is a building. We discover that the presence of God takes our space and makes it into a Holy Ground. A Holy Ground that isn't about us and what we think we need, but its about God and His work in our lives.

This week we talk about how and how not to read and interpret our Bibles and begin the process of unpacking some of the difficult passages in scripture regarding women in ministry. This week Pastor Brad continues to look at the importance of the church, and answer the question why does church matter? This week we look at the metaphor of the church as the Bride of Christ.
