Mixed Feelings: Recent Episodes

Allye Doyle

This series is meant to bring biracial people together and create a space for those who didn't feel like they otherwise had one. Both Quinn and Allye have struggled with their identity over the years and this passion project has become a place for both of them to grow and learn more about themselves and to feel connected to something or someone in a way they hadn't before. Being biracial isn't always easy, and not everyone has a space to talk about. So they made one. Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/allye-doyle/support

On the series second episode, Toussaint Morrison joins Quinn and Allye to talk about everything from colorism to Kathy Hilton and a little bit of terrifying history about everybody's favorite city to celebrate Mardi Gras. By the end of the episode the girls are still trying to decide what term best describes them. Are they biracial? Mixed? POC? Stick around and we might all find out.

In this episode, Quinn and Allye discuss the complexities of being racially ambiguous (even though they barely know how to say the word). In an over saturated story time, they explain the struggles of growing up being multi-racial and the tough conversations they've had to have with friends, family, and random strangers. Quinn dives into her family's background and Allye discusses her identity crisis. All that and more in this episode of Mixed Feeling's.

In this introductory episode Quinn & Allye talk a little bit about who they are, how they met and why they're passionate about biracial people having a platform just to talk and learn about those who may have similarities to them. They're still working out some kinks but are beyond excited for this new journey and all of the opportunities they will have to learn about themselves throughout the process.
