A podcast dedicated to help women catalyze their own transformation and engage in their evolution in a conscious way. Three Transformational Coaches share tools, processes, practices and wisdom to support you in designing your life in a fun, joy-filled and abundant way. This is for the woman who: - is invested in her growth in an intentional way - takes responsibility for her emotional, mental, spiritual, physical and financial wellness - honours the value of wisdom and growth in community. Hosted by Donna Poulidis, Sahar Joya and Danielle Daou.
Donna, Danielle and Sahar have a casual talk about their personal experiences around the topic of setting healthy boundaries.
They share what has worked and what has not - so you don't make the same mistakes!
Some of the points the women cover are: Setting firm boundaries and not feeling guilty about it. Fear of being rejected when setting boundaries in intimate relationships.
What comes first, embracing rejection or releasing guilt for asking what you need or makes you feel comfortable? In a world where most of us avoid rejection, how do we set clear boundaries and communicate them in a way that doesn't wound the other? How do we set clear boundaries while having them be respected?
This episode is the opening of the new season of the Adulting in the Modern World Podcast. Make yourself a cup of tea and get ready to explore a topic that most of us skirt around for fear of being judged and rejected!

Healing is a word that is often used especially in the personal growth and development field.
We have used it several times in our podcast as well.
Yet its definition has sometimes remained elusive.
The word heal is the word healthy.
Yet what does it actually mean?
In this episode, we continue the conversation started from episode 16 regarding intimacy and relationships, with the focus on the question of what is healing?
We approach the conversation by bringing our own various perspectives and vantage point to explain what healing has meant for us on our path as humans on the journey of health and wellness and as transformational coaches.
Tune in and join the conversation, by letting us know what you think the word healing means to you on our IG (bit.ly/34jqPr)

Welcome to another episode of Adulting in the Modern World.
In this episode, Sahar, Danielle and Donna talk about navigating the world of intimacy and relationships.
This is something that impacts and is in the hearts and minds of all women. Sometimes it is pressing and prominent for us, women, to think about our wheel of our life and other times we think we’ve got it all handled.
Regardless of where you are in that spectrum, it is a really juicy conversation to have as women, coming together to talk about it from the sisterhood perspective.
In this episode Donna, Sahar and Danielle talk about navigating the Liminal space in life.
Let's say you’ve reached some of your goals or all of your goals today and you are now in an ‘in between’ state, almost floating in a pre-dream state where you know there are more places you need to go and want to go, maybe you haven’t dreamed them up yet, or maybe the spark hasn’t fully come to life yet, they discuss how to create the next phase.
In this episode, Donna, Sahar and Danielle talk about how to carry joy in the midst of a global pandemic that has been prolonging for about a year now.
We are still in the midst of uncertainty, in terms of the next steps to take if we are going to have a new normal and what that is going to look like.
The transformational coaches talk about the tips and tools that they use to maintain their joy, health and wellness in these times of changes
In the past couple of weeks the momentum has really picked up as the energy of Spring has sprung. You might have felt it in your life wherever you are.
In this episode, we talk about productivity and some tools and tips that we use to manage our day to day lives while we continue to grow,to flourish and to expand into our highest most beautiful self.
Sahar, Donna and Danielle talk about some of the strategies that they use to manage and to support them so that they don’t reach breakdowns but instead breakthroughs.
In this episode we talk about the big cyclical changes that we have had happen in our lives, with a particular focus on mothering and living through challenging times and being reborn through them. We go deep into the heart of women and mothers with permission to speak to deep things of managing being a mom while also going in the depths of life and rising up with greater self-awareness and presence. We discuss the importance of embodying and practicing self-love and self-respect so that we can impact those around us to also be invited to embody the same values and ways of being. We discuss how life can make us confront experiences that are challenging but part of transformation is to take those challenges and turn it into gold. The strength and support of healthy communities is necessary.
Welcome to Episode 11 - Decluttering in the Spring of 2021
It’s been an eventful year globally, and now spring is coming once more, which means we enter a time of renewal and cleansing. As part of our renewal process here at Adulting in the Modern World Podcast, we invite a new member to our team. Danielle Daou is a Relationship, Nutrition and Lifestyle Coach. Danielle and Donna met during their training at Marisa Peer’s Rapid Transformational Therapy certification program. A synchronicity of dreams and a common thread of beliefs and purpose wove Danielle into the team with Sahar and Donna.
In today’s podcast we’ll talk about ways we declutter our lives on many levels, including detoxing our DNA and ancestral traumas, emotional and habitual responses that we no longer need and can let go of, plus a plethora of information about decluttering our kitchens and making them visually appealing and more attractive to us for better health and longevity.
We ask and answer some of the following questions: “Who am I now and who am I becoming?” When we ask these questions and deeply listen, we learn what we need to release from our old patterns, habits and reactions. What are the thoughts and beliefs that you no longer wish to have cycling through your mind? When we declutter our emotional state, we allow for wellbeing to flourish and mental chatter to lessen, offering some peace of mind. Some of that decluttering needs to happen in our physical spaces (our homes) as well, so we discuss using Feng Shui to create flow and clarity in our homes, and how that can actually help you lose weight and think clearer.
Danielle leads us into understanding that treating food as information for our body can have a huge and positive impact on a cellular level. Danielle explains why decluttering your fridge and making it visually beautiful can inspire you to eat and live healthier. Her example of looking at life as a vessel of water, and when you empty that vessel even slightly, you are allowing for clarity and space, for more to flow in. This can lead to better relationships, better career and better life circumstances coming to you.
Sahar takes us through a wonderful exercise, exploring the common obstacles we face as women in this modern world. If you’re thinking “What if I don’t have time to declutter? Or what if I feel too stressed or anxious? What if decluttering brings up my fears and anxieties of loss and fear of change? What happens when I feel fear for something new? What happens when I release and there is an emptiness?” These are great questions for introspection, and we dive into some great answers for dealing with what may seem like an obstacle, so that you may begin to feel lighter and clearer during this spring of 2021. Now is your time to declutter, release and bring in the new! See you in the episode.
In this episode, Donna offers a great chakra clearing meditation, that helps to clear, energize and attune you on all levels: mental, physical, spiritual and emotional.
This is a wonderful practice to use as part of a daily practice, whether in the mornings, evenings, or a reset during your day if you are feeling overwhelmed and requiring to come back to centre.
This also helps to fortify your life force, your Prana, thereby increasing your wellness and is especially great for those who desire to live a more empowered, energized and mindful life.
How to be in flow in your business. Flow is a divine state of grace, an energy that keeps you moving towards you goals, desires, where you want your business and your life to go.
This is a must-hear conversation for entrepreneurs and small business owners, people in business with and for themselves.
Uncertainty and change is a constant, so by being in a flow state you are better able to navigate life’s ups and downs - avoiding burnout and remaining in a creative state.
Your customers, your circle, can feel what energy you’re operating with. Relationship based marketing is the new and effective way of marketing, and your energy state plays a huge role in how you connect with your audience and clients.
This new world is really about creating connections, relationships and checking in with our energy state to be aware of the image we are sending out. That energy we’re sending out is either taking us towards our goals or away from them - it’s either in flow or in force.
How do we personally get into a flow state? What are some practical day-to-day techniques to apply?
Athletes, artists, singers, dancers, when they are in their peak performance, they are operating from flow state. Their mindset is navigating in the direction of their goals. Flow keeps you open and creative, whereas when we operate in lower vibration energies it’s nearly impossible to direct ourselves towards acceleration, growth and success.
Emotions are energy in motion. How does this translate to flow state? Donna and Sahar answer this question with practical tools and tips to balance your emotional state in order to reside in flow. What is meditation's role in developing flow state. Visionary Imagination, what is it and how do we use it?
We’ll discuss how to access these different brain wave states such as alpha state, to feel less stress, relaxed, open to meditative states and better able to access more information from our “higher self”. When we can access these states, then we begin to operate from flow and not force. We discuss why it’s important to access alpha, theta and delta brain wave states in order to access higher levels of awareness that can up level your being and your business.
Adulting is about taking self-responsibility, becoming more self-aware and making choices and decisions in life in the present moment and do so from a vibration of love or above. In this episode, we talk about some of the ways we have engaged in our own adulting process.
We discuss how the following tools helped us on our personal growth and development journey: yoga, breathwork, movement therapy, psychology based therapy and coaching that helps with identifying and transforming your thought patterns and how to design and live from intentionally chosen patterns. We encourage a multi-modal approach so that you can work with your mind, body and spirit in union to help you achieve your desired transformations.
We talk about how wounds can have the seeds of our soul mission and purpose embedded in it, and as we process our pain and suffering, we usually confront the parent wounds and ancestral trauma as well. We discuss the work being done in the field of epigenetics and how we are repeating DNA codes, where we inherit belief systems that may be outdated and based in vibrations lower than love. If we long to raise our vibrations and approach life from a more safe and secure place, Sahar and Donna believe having a spiritual connection to a loving and benevolent source of higher power is important.
It is usually childhood unmet needs that cause the adult the most amount of suffering. We may not have had all of our needs met as children, as parents are not perfect, and part of the process of adulting means cutting your mental umbilical cord and creating your own self-identity that is sovereign and self-defined.
It also means liberating our parents from our childhood perspective of them as Gods and Goddesses. It means taking self-responsibility for your life and that is where you will find your power and ability to design your life according to your own authentic heart and soul desires. Then you will feel whole, and fulfilled, not in a constant search for the next thing that gives you a sense of validation but is fleeting.
Even 5 minutes of rooting to the earth and connecting to the cosmos, and if your perception of god is a loving god then you will feel secure, held and supported.
REFLECTION PRACTICE: If you are reading this, take a moment right now and reflect on if your concept of higher power is loving or vengeful? Is your concept of the great creator one that you fear or one that is unconditionally loving? And check out the Map of Consciousness by David R. Hawkings and as yourself daily, which field of emotion you desire to resonate in. Is it in the energy of love or above?
Whether you’re in a relationship or single this episode is for you. We are always in relationship - whether we share our life with a partner, we seek to be with a partner, or we want contentment with the relationship we have with ourselves.
The self work we discuss in this episode applies to both singles and those in relationship with another. How do you connect and maintain an energy that is vibrating at the resonance of love or above? Are you practicing self-love often enough so that you are in relationship from a more whole and cup full approach?
We’ll address the steps to cultivate fullness, open-heartedness and to be in love with life, whether single or in union. We’ll also talk about communication in healthy and well-functioning relationships. What are some of the red flag moments early on in dating? How to recognize them and keep yourself healthy on an emotional and spiritual level.
How can you attract love, and most importantly be in love with yourself? How do you achieve this while in a relationship? Living in the vibration of love means that you will then attract relationships that are loving or you will have healthy boundaries when you recognize things being out of alignment with love. Therefore, practicing to connect to the true source of love on a daily basis is a must to live a love filled life!
This is the perfect episode to dive into before Valentine's Day.
In this episode we explore 2 new rules of the mind, as taught by Donna's Rapid Transformational Therapy® teacher and world renowned therapist, Marissa Peer which are as follows:
1) Your mind creates the blueprint which your body uses to then create your reality.
2) Your mind can not hold conflicting beliefs or thoughts
Why do these 2 rules matter? They are central to the work and practice of personal growth and transformation.
If you aren’t happy to with the stories you have been telling what are you going to do to change it? If you aren’t happy about the life you are living right now, what can you do to transform it into a reality that you would love and enjoy?
It requires a commitment and dedication to bringing that new vision into life by reverse engineering your way back ways from that expanded self into the current reality.
We emphasize that change lives in the daily habits, y’all! It is important to expand before focusing, as Sahar’s teacher and transformational leadership coach Christine Arylo teaches. But we can’t forget the focussing and consistent action part of the equation of the law of manifestation. Yes, dream into the desired reality, and then come back, create a backwards plan, your map basically, and then you live life by following that map to get to your destination.
Donna asks how does one learn to be their new self once they get to a certain level of alignment, and how do we maintain that commitment to changing our behaviours and patterns so that we can be new people and therefore experience a new reality?
We dive into the questions of how does one change? How does one become their desired self? The one they dream and imagine and wish to be? How do we become our most abundant, vibrant, happy, healthy selves? We start from the core…changing your internal blueprint and operating system. You may want to check out our episode on Upgrading your IOS for more information regarding that as well.
In this episode we explore what it means to increase our self worth, as high value women. Plus, what are the tools we use to increase our sense of value and worth, and how can we evolve in this area of life as we grow into the true version of ourselves. We ask such questions as: Where are we allowing our sense of worth to come from, external sources or from our own internal resources? What do we learn about the value of our self worth from our most formative years, in family, in the education system, in our societal environment? How does our self worth change, enhance and get empowered through the decades of our personal growth? Plus, how does the law of radiation align with our vision of our self worth? Do we have a unique set point for self worth? Why do some people seem to more easily be able to believe they are worthy of abundance while others need to work more at increasing their personal worth and understanding their inherent value? It’s a power-packed episode exploring a question and concept we all ask ourselves at some point, and one that we all need to look at if we expect to be more successful, more impactful and more influential in our communities.
In this episode Donna and Sahar explore the question of the inner voice, and how to recondition it so that it is our soul voice that speaks and that we listen to, rather than the voice of the inner critic. The awareness that our primary patterns are first created from the ages of 0-7, we invite you to consider how your perceptions have been shaped, your world views, and how you would like to reshape your primary patterns and conditioning. Adulting provides us with the opportunity to re-write our scripts, and to recondition ourselves according to our conscious choices.
How do we recondition ourselves? This is where most people get stuck and give up, and the voice of the inner critic continues to be the dominant voice that continues to shape your reality, keeping you stuck in loops. We have to first become aware of the stories and unprocessed things we carry from the past, in our backpack, an insightful analogy that Donna shares with us in this episode. She also has us consider what we want to let go of and what we desire to carry, as we continue our journey of life.
Conscious adulting means awakening the inner leader, connecting to the voice of our soul, unpacking the stories of our past by using methods that are transformative. Rapid Transformational Therapy(R) and Intentional Creativity(R) are two modalities that Donna and Sahar use personally and offer professionally, to catalyze conscious lasting change, from inside out, in a faster time frame.
The journey of conscious adulting requires compassion and forgiveness as a necessary tool in your backpack. Donna highlights the importance of not blaming the individual and self when we do this self exploration work, because many of us may not have been nurtured from birth with the tools and knowledge of how to listen and operate from our true selves.
While we recognize that the onus falls on the general community and collective, we also acknowledge that as adults in the modern world, we have access to a lot more knowledge, tools and communities, to provide us with the support of doing our inner work of self-actualization.
This episode builds on the previous episode regarding Upgrading Your IOS. Stories are beliefs, ways, and patterns that live in all areas of our lives, which becomes our programming that guides the way we live our lives. Stories shape our identity. So being aware of our stories by becoming the conscious author and storyteller of our lives is how we do the work of upgrading our IOS, so that our lives can feel fresh, aligned and updated with who we are in the present moment and who we desire to become.
As transformational coaches, we emphasize the importance of the transformational work that has to happen to change our stories. We share practical tools of how we override and over-write old stories and create personal transformation. We discuss the modalities we use personally and professionally, such as Rapid Transformational Therapy® and Intentional Creativity®, as well as meditation and other tools, as ways to drop into the subconscious mind and do the rewiring on a deeper level.
We discuss the importance of aligning the subconscious and unconscious mind by referencing an example from Deb Erikson’s (founder of ICAN Institute) work, so that we direct our energy towards empowering the new stories we wish to live out in our consciousness and in our lives.
We invite you to become the conscious storytellers in your life, because adulting in the modern world allows for possibilities in ways that was not available before, especially for women to be authors of their own lives! As we write and live the new stories in our own lives, we create change in our collective as well.
Neuroscience states that we have over 40,000 thoughts per day, most of which happen on auto-pilot in our internal operating system (IOS). We discuss how the structure of our subconscious mind is formed in our childhood. Donna elaborates on the 3 Foundational Rules of the Mind, as developed by her teacher Marisa Peer (founder of Rapid Transformational Therapy®), and how we can use this awareness to help us update our IOS in order to design an intentionally created life. As an Intentional Creativity® coach, Sahar discusses how she applies the principles of the Rules of the Mind in her practice, in order to transform the inner voice from the voice of the inner critic to the voice of the Muse so that you design a life that feels joyful, healthy and aligned.
