"Whenever fear comes up, that means I have to do it anyway - conquer it." -Kristen Addis

Episode 5 is an audio performance by Livy Liv, speaking on her written piece, '1926'.  Which focuses on a hypothetical experience of a male of color, responding to his first encounter with the "paper-bag test".  She sets the scene in 1926, in New Orleans. She expands into his internal struggle dealing with an unjust death as a young adult.

There's history to learn here, as well as some picture painting of how colorism can benefit some, and what the consequences might look like for others.

Join her in this vulnerable space of creativity.

How can we personalize a label, used by millions - if not billions - of others?
Let's join in with your host, Livy Liv, in a discussion around this word, "Love".

As she introduces us to some recycled definitions and ideas of it, we grow in the conversation to show up to its impact on the lives of People of Color. From traveling back in time to where affection was seen as illegitimate for us, to now stepping into how we can redefine it today.

Recognizing the significance of honesty and self-reflection to drown out what we think is expected of others, and ourselves using this word.
