The tools include a demo of IPR, a tool that allows users to create interactive content, and iSpring Space, an online course builder and sharing service. Poli also highlighted the tool's AI capabilities, which can suggest course titles, create course outlines, write assignments, create quiz questions, and simplify language. The AI also supports multiple languages. Poli also demonstrated how to create a course portfolio, an important tool for instructional designers to showcase their skills and work. The portfolio can be shared with colleagues for collaboration or with clients for review.

In this episode of Edup Ed Tech, we interviewed Amanda Bratten, Vice President of Content and Curriculum at Propello. Bratten shares her journey from PR to teaching, and how her desire to provide resources for teachers led her to educational publishing and eventually to Propello. Audrey paused her studies at Stanford University to pursue Curious Cardinals, chasing her dreams to not only help K-12 students unlock their greatest potential but also to provide college students with meaningful work. After teaching her first workshop on mass incarceration to high school students at the start of the pandemic, Audrey mobilized her most ambitious peers at Stanford and beyond to share topics they were passionate about to K-12 students. Since then, Audrey has spoken on CNN and in Forbes to share her vision to create a community of lifelong learners and doers. Curious Cardinals has now raised $6.8 million in seed funding led by Anthos Capital and Audacious Ventures. She was recognized in the 2022 Forbes 30 Under 30 Education and Youngest category. At Stanford, Audrey was a history major whose research on the history of sexual assault was published in the Stanford Historical Journal. When Audrey is not working or speaking to members of the Curious Cardinals community, she can be found running while listening to podcasts, reading, or art museums!

This led him to create a website for free computer science education. He also shares about WeSchool's upcoming features, including a teaching assistant that predicts dropout rates and a system that emits learning credentials on the blockchain. Since 2016, WeSchool has grown to over 70 employees across three countries, closed a 6.4M€ Series A funding round, been used by over 2 million learners and has been recommended as one of the three platforms by the Italian Ministry of Education for distance learning (alongside Microsoft and Google).
At age 32, Marco is a champion of digital education. His passion for education started as a teenager. At the age of 14, he asked his teachers where he could learn how to code. Everyone around him shook his head. This frustration prompted him to found his first free online school, the “OilProject” to self-enroll himself and learn about the topics he wanted, on his terms.
This innovative spirit and builder personality pushes Marco to pursue disruptive ideas in a quest to deliver meaningful change through technological innovation at times when common sense and the status quo do not necessarily approve.
He strongly believes that education is the only “social technology” that can enable anybody to become independent Knowledge Age citizens and thinkers. Mariah Okoye is a Florida-based professional who holds a Bachelor's degree in Educational Studies (2014) and a Master's degree in Instructional Design (2018) from Saint Leo University. With nine years of experience teaching English Language Arts (ELA) and Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID), Mariah realized her passion for instructional design and decided to make a career transition.

About Andrew - In his own words
I'm a product and culture person. When I use a product, I'm subconsciously taking notes of new ways of doing things that can be applied to the products I create. When I learn about another company's culture, I'm doing the same.
As my role has shifted from product building to company building, I've become a bit obsessed with understanding what makes people their most productive and happiest. I want to understand what the key things are that make people look back and say "Those were the best work years of my life". And then figure out how to those in our culture now.
Beyond product and culture, I seem to have a knack for picking up new skills & understanding things quickly. After starting out as the business-focused founder of GooseChase, I successfully taught myself how to code (web, iOS & Android) and switched to the technical lead, just because it needed to be done. I love taking data points & insights from a variety of places and combining them to evolve my understanding of something, even if it doesn't seem particularly relevant right now. If I'm not learning, I'm not having fun!

A.M. Bhatt was born in India and came to the United States with his mother when he was six years old (his father had come three years prior to study engineering). For more than six years, he and his mother lived as undocumented immigrants while his father stayed in school to maintain his student visa. A.M. has a personal understanding of how students and adult learners from different backgrounds engage with established systems that tend to be mired in traditional or outdated modes of thinking. He is committed to helping individuals develop their sense of self and community – equipping them with the technical skills they’ll need to launch or grow a career while, at the same time, empowering them to become agents for humanity-centric change in the world.

Robin Sargent Ph.D., an entrepreneur, instructional designer, author, and former professor, is recognized as an instructional design community leader. She is the Owner and Founder of IDOL courses, IDOL Talent, and VITAL courses. Dr. Katherine Grill received a BS in Art Therapy from Springfield College in 2013. She went on to complete an MA in Psychology from American University in 2016 and a Ph.D. in Behavioral Neuroscience from American University (BCaN Program) in 2017. Dave Hurwitt is an innovator. Over the course of his career, he’s led the development and launch of new products and services – from toothpicks to wind turbines – that have generated well over $1 billion in sales.
If you have a large, front-loading washing machine in your house, that was Dave and his team at Whirlpool. They re-envisioned the traditional, small European washer for the US market and took front loaders from 1% of the market to over 50% today, saving billions of dollars in electricity and water consumption in the process.
Dave has lived and worked around the world and is now based in Burlington Vermont with his wife and two Golden Retrievers. Their 3 “kids” have now graduated from college, but it was his experience with them on their college journeys that started his innovator’s brain cranking on what became Troove.
Having worked in admissions through grad school, he was amazed by how little technology and the internet had impacted the college search and admissions process. And even more, he was dismayed to discover how often students were transferring or dropping out altogether.
In early 2020, this led directly to his founding Troove, a 2-sided, AI-powered platform to help students discover their passions, people, and place based on the real experiences of recent alumni and current higher education students.
An accomplished photographer, lover of history, and avid traveler, Dave has made it to every state but Alaska (so far!) and some 50 different countries, the camera always in hand. The same curiosity about people that shows up in his photography also shows up in the new products he creates – always with a focus on human interaction and how we can better blend the old and the new.

Jarrett Carter (he/him) is Associate Vice President for Integrative Learning Design at the University of Maryland Global Campus, which serves 45,000 students worldwide. Jarrett has worked in higher education for over a decade, most recently spearheading cross-functional teams to develop innovative learning experiences in a variety of settings.
Over the course of his career, Jarrett has partnered with companies and educational institutions to develop learning strategies and solutions for their global audiences across over 150 countries. My academic background is in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Waterloo, Canada. In my last year of university, I was accepted into Velocity, the University of Waterloo’s Entrepreneurship Residence. Goosechase was born a few weeks into the final term at a Hackathon on campus.

Aliza Shatzman is the President and Co-Founder of The Legal Accountability Project, a nonprofit that ensures that law clerks have positive clerkship experiences while extending support and resources to those who do not. Aliza earned her BA from Williams College and her JD from Washington University School of Law. At WashU Law, Aliza served as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Law and Policy. During law school, Aliza interned with four different components of the U.S. Department of Justice—the Office of Vaccine Litigation; the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Illinois; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; and the Counterterrorism Section of the National Security Division. After law school, Aliza clerked in DC Superior Court during the 2019-2020 term, intending to launch her career as a homicide prosecutor.
In March 2022, Aliza submitted written testimony for a House Judiciary Subcommittee hearing about the lack of workplace protections in the federal judiciary, detailing her personal experience with gender discrimination, harassment, and retaliation by a former DC judge. Aliza now writes and regularly speaks about judicial accountability. She has been published in numerous forums, including the UCLA Journal of Gender & Law, Yale Law & Policy Review, NYU Journal of Legislation & Public Policy, Above the Law, Law360, Slate, Ms. Magazine, and Balls & Strikes.

Before starting my Ph.D., I co-authored 6 scientific publications on abstract math, algorithms, network analysis, and statistics. I have also competed in a series of competitions on entrepreneurship and innovation, winning first place in the Venture Cup Idea Competition in 2011, a final position in the Danish Global Management Challenge, and received a price for a project branding electrical cars using mobile applications.

Dr. Katherine Grill received a BS in Art Therapy from Springfield College in 2013. She went on to complete an MA in Psychology from American University in 2016 and a Ph.D. in Behavioral Neuroscience from American University (BCaN Program) in 2017. While completing her PhD, she worked at Children’s National pediatric hospital conducting NIH behavioral health research. She was also the co-founder of a community health program for young adults called Mindful Millennials. In 2017, Dr. Grill moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to learn about using technology to increase access to mental health care. As the Co-founder and CEO of Neolth, Dr. Grill has won numerous awards including being selected for Forbes 30 Under 30 in the 2022 education category; the 2021 Lyfebulb-Loyola University Chicago Public Health Innovation Challenge Grand Prize Winner; 2021 Timmy Finalist for Best Tech for Good in San Francisco; 2020 Startup of the Year EdTech award; Top 100 Startup in 2020 by SOTY; Top 100 company in 2020 by Pepperdine University; winner of the 2019 SoGal San Francisco Regional Pitch Competition and the 2020 SoGal Global Finals Pitch Competition, the largest pitch competition for female founders in the world. Dr. Janice Gobert (Ph.D., Cognitive Science, University of Toronto) is an esteemed science education expert with over 25 years of experience and has executed over $25M in federal research funding. As students engage in scientific inquiry, Inq-ITS uses patented AI algorithms to assess and scaffold in real-time all science practices, including their writing about science. In 2014, Yellowdig's CEO and founder, Shaunak Roy, knew he wanted to start a company that mattered. As Facebook and other social media technologies took over the social connectivity scene, he saw an opportunity to leverage this idea of social sharing through technology, specifically in the area of sharing academic ideas and knowledge. I believe in providing you with practical applications and helping you develop real tangible skills. I’ve been told that my superpower is being able to take complex ideas and translate them into simple lessons. That’s why my podcast and blog have quick steps for you to take to work on your craft. My students come from all walks of life. I’ve designed courses for engineers at NASA to busy Moms and Dads who are working full time. No matter what course I’m designing, I follow Universal Design for Learning as a framework to overcome barriers and provide flexibility. What I care about the most is the online learning experience and providing every opportunity for students to learn. I have a BA in Graphic Design, an MS in Marketing, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership (EdD) with my research focused on online Millennial Generation students and how they perceived their relationships with online Academic Advisors. Judith was an instructional designer and part-time faculty member, and Melissa was an administrator and faculty member. Over time, their partnership became a friendship and that friendship would become the Online Lecture Toolkit--an open educational resource dedicated to helping faculty develop online lecture videos--started in 2017. More about Shaunak RoyIn 2014, Yellowdig's CEO and founder, Shaunak Roy, knew he wanted to start a company that mattered. As Facebook and other social media technologies took over the social connectivity scene, he saw an opportunity to leverage this idea of social sharing through technology, but specifically in the area of sharing academic ideas and knowledge. As Shaunak looked back on his own academic days (he went to undergrad at IIT Bombay, and postgrad at MIT), he realized that he learned as much from his peers as he did from his brilliant professors. Some of the bonds he created with his peers lasted well beyond those formative years and morphed into lifelong friendships.

What is Quad C?
TutorOcean's higher ed solution morphed into QuadC after several of their higher ed partnerships grew and evolved with them by adding roles beyond tutors to their platform. They needed a brand name to reflect their capability in helping higher ed schools connect their students with a wide variety of student services and not strictly just tutoring. Prior to joining TutorOcean, Jeff was freelancing digital marketing services where he helped small and medium-sized businesses generate sales meetings through LinkedIn.
