Exploring biblical principles to help provide an enriched perspective on how to live your best life.
In a biblical context, to be anointed is to be blessed, set apart for God's service, and empowered by the Holy Spirit. Throughout Scripture, prophets, priests, and kings were literally anointed with oil as a visible sign that God had chosen and commissioned them for His purposes. Today, however, the biblical understanding of the anointing is in danger of being diminished or misunderstood. What Scripture presents as God's empowering presence and divine calling is sometimes reduced to a mere emotional experience, a title, or a religious expression. The anointing is far more than symbolism—it is God's enabling power to accomplish His will.

The Bible portrays sibling rivalry through stories such as Cain and Abel, Jacob and Esau, Joseph and his brothers, Isaac and Ishmael, and Leah and Rachel. These accounts reveal how jealousy, pride, and favoritism can breed conflict, deceit, and even violence within families. Rivalry is described in Scripture as a “work of the flesh” that causes chaos, dishonors God, and undermines unity among believers (Galatians 5:19–21; James 3:16).
Yet, amid these cautionary tales, the Bible also offers hope. Through examples like the reconciliations of Jacob and Esau and Joseph with his brothers, it emphasizes repentance, forgiveness, and divine restoration. Ultimately, Scripture calls believers to reject rivalry and embrace love, humility, and harmony as “brothers and sisters in Christ.”

In this episode, we explore the dangers of operating with guile. It's important to understand what guile truly is—and to avoid it at all costs. In the Bible, guile refers to deceit, cunning, and dishonesty. It is often contrasted with the virtue of being without guile, which reflects innocence, honesty, and integrity. To be ruthlessly honest with ourselves and others is to live free of guile.
Definitions:
Guile: insidious cunning in attaining a goal; crafty or artful deception; duplicity.
Deceit: the action or practice of deceiving someone by concealing or misrepresenting the truth.
Scriptures:
Jesus considered that absence of guile to be remarkable, presumably because itis so rare. We must cry out like the psalmist in Psalm 120:2, "Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue".

In this episode we discuss the benefits of being prepared. Preparation reduces anxiety, builds confidence, and helps us accomplish our goals. It is easier to prepare and prevent, than it is to repair and repent. If we plan for the worst and hope for the best we are less likely to experience failures. We prepare because we believe!
Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance.
How to prepare…
Understand your current situation.
Determine where you want to be.
Create a plan.
Execute.
Repeat steps 1-4.
Scriptures:
Quotes from famous people:

In this episode, we discuss the difference between judgement and correction. Judgement is not for improvement, it's a conclusion, whereas correction is for the purpose of improvement. Accepting correction can be hard and oftentimes we interpret correction as judgement.
Scriptures:
It is important to realize that when we are not open to correction and instruction, this can hinder our Christian walk. If we do not acknowledge that we make mistakes and sometimes need to change our ways, this can have negative consequences. The Bible informs us that God is our only judge. If we can be given correction and be corrected, we will be able to confidently stand before God in the judgement without condemnation.

Ignorant: lacking in knowledge or training; unlearned. Lacking knowledge or information as to a particular subject or fact. Uninformed; unaware. Due to or showing lack of knowledge or training.
Ignorance: the state or fact of being ignorant; lack of knowledge, learning, information.

In this episode we discuss the beauty of leaving and cleaving to God. We cannot be made the servants of God until we are freed from the power and dominion of sin; we cannot serve two masters so directly opposite one to another as God and sin are. Cleaving to God is a resignation of ourselves to the service of God and righteousness; to God as our master, to righteousness as our work.

In this episode, we discuss the importance of being justified by God. By Him we obtain a complete justification, for by him a complete atonement was made for sin. We are justified, not only by him as our judge, but by Him as our righteousness. Our faith leads us to obey His word that leads to justification. We fall short when we try to justify ourselves by trying to do things our way.

Submission is a concept that seems to go against the grain of human nature, and yet we all see the need for it in certain aspects of life. Without submission, things quickly fall into chaos as everyone strives to be in charge. Even though it is sometimes mocked as a sign of weakness, submission is really one of the strongest pillars of a stable society.
Scriptures:
Once we have submitted to God, our highest Authority, recognizing and following the chain of human authority in this world becomes easier.

Jeremiah 29:11 says "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." We're just taking a trip down memory lane through our 20s, 30s, and early 40s discussing how we had to come to understand that God has an expected end. In order to see the fulfilment of His plan in our lives we must stay focused and stay the course.
After Adam and Eve sinned, what was once perfect, was now corrupted spiritually, mentally, and physically. In this episode we discuss the types of healing, who is the healer, how we gain access to His healing power, and the most powerful healing there is...conversion.

In this episode we discuss the power of weakness. This strength comes from our confession of dependance on God. When we are strong in abilities or resources we are tempted to do God's work on our own and that can lead to pride. When we are weak, by allowing God to fill us with his power, we are stronger than we could ever be on our own.
Scriptures:
Matthew 26:41- Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
II Corinthians 12:9-10- And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

To consign means to hand over, deliver formally/officially, or to transfer to another's custody or charge. Two words that are synonymous with consign is commit and entrust. 1 Peter 5:7 says that we should give all of our cares to God because he cares about us. In this episode we will be exploring what it means to consign our cares over to God... the good, the bad, and the in between. The consignment must take place!
In this episode we discuss the contrasts of the worldly and biblical view of love for all mankind. While there are some similarities, the biblical view takes us further than we're able to go on our own. We need God's help to live and demonstrate a mature love that's in alignment with his Word.
World View: Self-centered, temporal, measured, romanticized, emotional, sensual, reckless. (influenced by media, society, peers, music, books, magazines, etc.)

Did you know that there is a connection between gratitude and overall happiness and well-being? In this episode, we discuss the importance of possessing this valuable virtue. Many studies over the past decade have found that people who consciously count their blessings tend to be happier and less depressed. Even science and religion agree that gratitude increases happiness.
Scriptures:
Ps. 92:1 It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High.
Ps. 100:4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him and bless his name.

In this episode, Mike and Talesha talks about the "what" that governs our lives... ambition. We have a dream and a goal for which we are willing to do whatever it takes to attain it. As believers, we must align with Matthew 6:33 which says, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Sometimes we do, sometimes we don't... listen in as we discuss this thing called ambition.
For many, there is an expectation that if we do well we will become wealthy. While there is some truth to that statement, there are also some fallacies that must be addressed to get a more enriched perspective. This episode is part 2 of a 2 part series regarding wealth building and maintenance from a biblical point of view. We attempt to address a few, not all, principles related to how to operate when wealthy and also pitfalls/obstacles to look out for.

In this episode we explore the cause and the place to which Elijah, the great prophet, fled because of the threat of his adversary. This was both a physical and emotional journey that he embarked upon while searching for answers to his current predicament. With the pressures and adversity we face, we find ourselves sometimes behaving just like Elijah... going on a journey of discovery.
In this episode we explore the who, why, and how of walking in the Spirit. There are great benefits to learning and applying these trues to our everyday lives. Starting with Galatians 5:24-26, and walking throughout the epistles, we're seeking to better understand the principle and it's application.
I thought we were all a child of God… nope. (Romans 3:10-12, 23, Romans 5:12, John 8:44, 1 John 3:8-10, Romans 8:9, Ephesians 2:12)
Is God my Father… spiritually speaking… not until you're born again. (John 1:12-13, John 3:5-7, Romans 8:15-17, Galatian 3:26-29)
We were apart from God… separated. We were brought back into right fellowship by the spiritual rebirth. This rebirth is what gives us access to what we by nature were cut off from… similar to the process of adoption. An adopted child is brought into a family and is accepted as and has the same rights/privilege as the natural. By being born again, we receive his Spirit, and are now his children (Romans 8:15-17).
We have an obligation as God's children... (2Tim. 2:19, 2Cor. 5:17, 1 John 3:2-3, Romans 8:12-14, Galatians 5:16-25, Ephesians 4:1-3)

Prophecy is described as the speaking forth of the mind and counsel of God. It is the declaration of that which cannot be known by natural means. It is foretelling of the will of God, whether with reference to the past, present, or the future.
The purpose prophecy is to edify, to comfort, and to encourage the believers, while its effect upon unbelievers is to show that the secrets of a man's heart are known to God, to convict of sin and constrain worship.

In this episode we deal with the concept of self-love. Interesting enough, the scriptures do say quite a bit about this topic... we just tend to miss it! Self love done with biblical principles in mind will lead to life, peace, and fulfillment. Join us as we explore how the Bible addresses this topic.
Love thy neighbor as thyself: Matthew 22:34-40; Luke 10:25-37; Romans 13:8,10; Galatian 5:14
Treat people like you want to be treated: Luke 6:22-23, 27-39
Ways to love yourself: Psalm 34:12-14; 1 Peter 3:10-11; Colossians 3:1-17; 2 Peter 1:2-11
Charity at it's finest: 1 Corinthians 13:4-8
As a continuation of "Why would I...", sometimes after we have said "I do" and time begins to pass we find ourselves looking for the exit. In this episode we're discussing what the Bible says regarding exiting a marriage.

We have a particular need for acceptance by those in authority and who we want to be friends with. Being accepted leads to being treated with respect and afford status of some kind. Acceptance brings closeness. When people know that you accept them, trust develops. They open up more to you, and a closer bond develops. Although we set our criteria for acceptance and make adjustments to be accepted, one question comes to mind; why can't God have a criteria?
This powerful episode takes us on a personal journey with Mike and Talesha as they share their struggles with acceptance and overcoming the need to compromise to fit in.
