In this Episode Scott welcomes the lovely Amely Joly to the podcast. Amely, currently living in Toulouse, France, is currently a womens pro roundnet player in Europe and also one of four board members on the European Roundnet Association.
Her impact on the sport and in-particularly her commitment and work ethic to her role on the board of EURA is nothing short of inspiring which is one of the many reasons why Scott wanted to bring her on the podcast to discuss where her motivation comes from to growing the sport on a voluntary basis and also for the listeners to gain more of an insight into what goes on off the court and behind the scenes at the European Roundnet Association.
While this episode discusses the details behind the scenes at EURA, it parallels incredibly well to other organisations, clubs, NGB and even boards at the IRF which also are doing these things behind closed doors and are the building blocks for the sports growth and development.

Onto the womens division where a massive 35 teams entered and competeted making it one of the most competitive womens field to date, the anticipated final or Tirmasu (Austria) v Towerful (Germany & Switzerland) made for an incredible 3 set spectacle on the Saturday!
Moving onto Sunday where we saw a huge 70 team mixed division take place with more than 15 different nationalities competing! In the end it was Levi and Megan of Belgium and Austria to play against Clark and Laura of USA and Switzerland in another 3 set final!

The first ever European STS Major is taking place in Toulouse, France this Saturday!
Saturdays tournament consists of a Premier division of 20+ teams, including individuals from all around the world, as well as another 30 teams making up a HUGE womens advanced division!
This event is without doubt going to be one of most entertaining events of the year so far with so many story lines and the first time we get to witness the clash of Europeans finest with North Americans finest since Worlds in September last year!

On this episode Thomas Pshaid (@tops_roundnet) and Gavin cover the topic of streaming in roundnet. With STS Challengers no longer being streamed by Spikeball, we discuss how anyone can set up a basic stream so that people at home can track these events. We then move into mid-level streams which might might use a computer rather than a phone and even how you can set up a scoreboard for your viewers. Later on we discuss the importance of streaming events live, not worrying about the viewership numbers as a new or experienced streamer, playing in events vs streaming them, the major in Toulouse and finally the how streaming could be revolutionized by advanced production teams. The boys are back
On this episode Scott discusses his recent adventures across Europe, while also discussing what goes into preparing a roundnet clinic, how he creates roundnet drills, and the general lack of coaching in roundnet since HTR slowed down.
In this episode — while Scott was away hosting clinics in London — Mike and Gavin joined to discuss community. Here we label the two ways we believe people experience roundnet community, as upstream and as downstream. The upstream player is working their way to the top and sees community as an opportunity for them to play and enjoy more roundnet. On the other hand the downstream roundnet community member might be more concerned with providing to newer players, making roundet more enjoyable for everyone, and presenting opportunities to those who might not have given roundnet a chance otherwise. Later on we discuss Gavin and Mike’s experiences within communities and recent strategies they’ve implemented to further their own groups.
This week the boys build on a fan favourite episode from season 1 discussing your role and relationship with roundnet. The guys start the episode by openly discussing Mike & Gavin's previous and present relationship with roundnet before discuss new exciting projects and initiatives within roundnet such as The Roundnetwork, Roundnet AI, as well as other projects started in 2023. It's then time for Mike's break where he continues on last weeks topic of team names by testing Gavin and Scott's roundnet history in a little roundnet trivia. The boys discuss the results the mens, womens, and coed divisions at both STS Richmond (major) and ETS Paris. The U.S had their first major of the year with Rouge Roundnet (Thomas Hamilton & Ryan Marino) winning the final in two against TRP Spotless (Ryan Gross & Joe Bondi), while Twinz win again in two! Alongside discussing the event, the guys discuss the progression of top level roundnet from the years gone by while also reaping ETS Paris where there were a handful of surprising results from the weekend!

To learn more about the company and the people behind it, the boys bring on Taylor Sanford, co-founder of Premier Spike, to discuss how, why, and when this project first started and what Premier Spike's ambitions are as a company.

Post Produced Roundnet - Potentially one of the biggest things missing in the sport of roundnet.
Do we expect people in roundnet to go from watching a reel on social media to watching a full 40-60 minute match? Could the next big thing in roundnet be post-produced tournament recaps so the sport can retain some of the millions that are exposed to the sport through a reel or tiktok on social media?
These post produced recaps would help build storylines, build personal and team connections, and help funnel more people into the sport, very similar to how discgolf has done over these past few years through the help of Jomez.Â

Serving and offense are the problems, how do we find that balance where defensive touches occur more often than aces, but where aces are still part of the game? Is one solution hosting tournaments dedicated to testing rule/equipment changes to collect data? Is the key that we all need to stay open-minded and understand that this sport is still very young and will need to be constantly evaluated in order to achieve that 'optimal' state as quickly as possible.
