Where we explore the tragic Line of Duty Deaths of Firefighters and Paramedics, to learn from these ultimate sacrifices. We will try to produce one of these podcasts monthly. These podcasts are brief Synopsys of the events we have obtained from official reports and published stories. We wanted to provide an easy and convenient method for today’s firefighters to quickly learn lessons of past LODD’s and possibly prevent them from happening again.

Please join the group as we review the NIOSH report of the Deutsch Bank fire that occurred in August of 2007, where 2 FDNY firefighters were killed and 115 other injured, during this 7 alarm fire in a high rise under demolition, as a result of damage that happened on 9/11.
In September of 2019 five firefighters from the Milford Haven Fire Rescue Service were performing Water Rescue training in two boats. Suddenly the boats collided at speed and one firefighter was fatally injured. Please listen and learn more about this low frequency-High risk event.
In August of 2000 a career firefighter was drowned during spontaneous water rescues on or near community roadways in a suburban area, after a summer storm flooding event. preplanning, situational awareness, training, lack of personal flotation devices and wearing structural firefighting gear during water rescues, all played a role in this fatality.
A gas leak resulting from un-permitted directional boring caused an explosion that fatally injured a firefighter and injured several others in Sun Prairie WI in July of 2000.
In July of 2013 a Greater Manchester Fire Rescue Service firefighter died and another was injured when they became disoriented and unaccounted for in a commercial business fire, after shift change, from day to night shift on the fireground.

In June of 2003 Two Memphis TN firefighters died when they were trapped in a Family Dollar store on fire and the roof collapsed.
In June of 2017 a firefighter fell to his death while carrying tools up an aerial ladder in LA.

On March 17, firefighters from North Perth responded to a smoke and possible fire at a local commercial occupancy undergoing roof repairs, while open for business. During investigation of smoke in the store, and potential fire in the below roof space, the roof collapsed, trapping two firefighters.

In this rather unique incident a firefighter is killed from a collapsing cell phone/radio tower, subsequent to a earlier collapse, where maintenance workers were injured. Join us for a discussion about this tragic event and learn from it.
In this landmark event the largest High Rise Fire in North American History at the time. Three firefighters died and 8 others were rescued. This event resulted in 12 alarms and eventually, it burned up to the 30th floor where sprinklers controlled it and stopped progression, so firefighter could extinguish it.

On May 31, 2013, Houston TX Fire responded to a fire in a restaurant in a Hotel. I was a wind-driven delayed discovery fire and four FFs died and another died a few years later after a long battle with injuries sustained at this incident.
