The New South Wales state governments conservation department/mainland Australia has confirmed via email yesterday that they will soon be looking to eDNA screen for Tasmanian Tiger.I can also reveal Melbourne Water in the state of Victoria mainland/Australia is also screening for Tasmanian tiger via metabarcoding since last year.BREAKING NEWS Mon 17/10/2022 Nsw state liberal government/conservation department backflips on decision to look to screen for Tasmanian Tiger using Environmental Dna in Nsw Mainland Australia.

Hi Michael,
So sorry you didn’t receive a response from us earlier this year.
The NSW state government SoS program currently works on threatened species listed as threatened under the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016. As the Tasmanian Tiger is not listed under our legislation we have no specific projects screening for Tasmanian Tiger eDNA.

Sadly nothing has changed in this disgraced job for life conservation monopoly and in 2001 a freedom of information request i took out with the incompetent public sector union dominated Nsw national parks and wildlife service revealed to the world the blue Mountains black panther cover up. Including a dummy press release that they would use if the information ever got out.
Sadly the economic reform agenda of the 1990s and 2000s never reached state government conservation departments around Australia as they remain the same as they have been for over 100 years. Incompetent and accountable only to themselves !!
A May 2022 Visit to Lake Reeve in Coastal central Gippsland. In 1996 I was the first to uncover Loch sport to Seaspray as a Tasmanian tiger sighting hotspot and have received over 100 alleged sightings of Tasmanian tiger going back to when the first houses went into loch sport in the 1950s.
This video also features the Loch ness Monster ? in Lake Reeve.

The search is on again in the Strzelecki Ranges in the state of Victoria on mainland Australia.
I have had two dozen alleged Tasmanian tiger sightings reported to me over the years in the Strzelecki Ranges 95 percent on the coastal side of the Strzelecki Ranges in the foothills of the Strzelecki Ranges.
Only a couple of sightings on the inland other side of the Strzelecki Ranges below the princes highway.
Interestingly in Tasmania where they have been extinct since 1936 it was noted also that Tasmanian tigers were seen on one side of a mountain range and rarely on the other side when they existed.
The search is on again in the Strzelecki Ranges in the state of Victoria on mainland Australia.
