Each of us wants to have influence in life, to fit in, and not be rejected because of the beliefs and values we hold. We often think that if people knew what we really thought they would reject us. So we remain silent. And that makes it easy to tolerate a lot of things that are wrong in this world. But, how are we supposed to respond? What does it actually look like to speak up? As Jesus’ confronts the church in Pergamum, we’ll unpack what that means for each of us too!
Many people experience that moment where life feels overwhelming, so difficult, and even too challenging. The same thing can happen with God if we don’t invest in maintaining relationship with Him. Yet, when we look at the eyewitness accounts to Jesus' life and ministry unbelievable is exactly what we see. How do we make sense of all of this? When Jesus walked the planet He was the very embodiment of mercy, and yet now, there seems to be a shortage of mercy in our world. So many are willing to cancel and ruin rather than correct with truth and extend mercy. Can anything be done about that? And how do we become people of mercy in an environment that's stacked against it?

Why is it so tempting to pretend everything is fine when it's not? To put on a brave face and act like we're ok.
