When we create space in our lives for God, when we create an atmosphere that is ready for the voice of God to speak, that is where life happens.
The internal voice of God has the ability to position us where God wants us to be. God does not just speak to His prophets; He speaks to all of us.
“For truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.” Matthew 17:20
“So Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you; as the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” And when He had said this, He breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit…”” John 20:21-22
The word breathed literally means to germinate or to grow, to sprout or to produce; figurative to spring up. It is as if He planted the seed of the Holy Spirit in them that would grow and sprout and produce.
“But what does it say? “The Word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.” Romans 10:8-10
The Holy Spirit has planted the seed of faith in our heart; it is our responsibility to confess it. By believing and confessing we cause the seed to grow and produce fruit.
God has solutions; by our believing and speaking it gives God room to move.
“And Jesus answered saying to them, “Have faith in God. Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him.”” Mark 11:22-23
When Jesus spoke this He used a specific mountain as an example, it was called the mountain of corruption.
The mountain represents everything that is contrary to God’s plan. God wants us to use the seed of faith He has planted in us to remove the mountains of corruption in our sphere of influence to bring forth His plan.
There are times when we don’t know what to do in situations but we can still speak grace into those situations.
There is so much peace and confidence in being true to who God made us to be. Identity is not only being okay with who we are, but it is also being okay with who we are not.
God is exhorting us not to fall into the mindset of “whenever” but to remember He is the God who intervenes in our lives.
God is exhorting us not to fall into the mindset of “whenever” but to remember He is the God who intervenes in our lives.
We are part of the Bride of God. We are people who God can use to show His love redemption, favor, and power to the world so the world can have a true picture of God and subsequently be drawn to Him through us.
Our goal should be to live each day with a passion for the life God has given us, growing daily in our walk with Jesus. We have a part in God’s storyline. Are we seeking it out? What we ultimately give account for is what is happening in our own heart.
What would it be for us to have a revelation that “unto us a Savior is born” that would allow us to put away anything that normally we would cling to for our own security?
Natural liberty is what we are born with as humans—we are only constrained by the laws of nature; we are free to do what we want to do. The establishment of government abridges this liberty. The purpose of government is to limit our liberty where we intersect with other people so that one doesn’t use their natural liberty in a way that hurts others.
The intent of God in giving us such an amazing and astounding night sky/solar system is to create wonder in us and cause an expansion of heart and thought; to get us to think outside of ourselves.
Humility acknowledges our dependency on God’s presence in our lives. The grace of God enables us to walk in humility.
Through Jesus Christ God has invited us through the veil into the very presence of God. When we enter the presence of God we exchange our strength for His strength, and we experience rest because we realize that life actually comes from God.
What distinguished Jesus as a Rabbi was that he wasn’t as concerned with the expository side of the Torah as much as He was concerned with the practical application of it. In other words He wanted people to manifest God’s heart and light to the world around them, not simply gain head knowledge of Scripture.
Doctor Maurice Sklar began playing the violin at age four and at age fifteen he was accepted to the Juilliard School of Music in New York City. “Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.” John 8:56
Matthew 5:2, “He opened His mouth…”
Acts 8:35, “Then Philip opened His mouth…”
Acts 10:34, “Opening his mouth, Peter said…”
The role of the Holy Spirit is vital in the direction of our destiny.
In Matthew 5:2 Jesus spoke to a multitude of people during His famous sermon on the mount. Jesus was introducing the Kingdom of Heaven by speaking about the old law and how it had been passed down by tradition and then contrasting it with the law of love and the nature of God. By yielding to the Holy Spirit and simply opening His mouth, Jesus gave to us the most profound and often articulated foundation for Christianity.
In Acts 8:35 when Philip yielded to the Holy Spirit and opened his mouth he shared the gospel with the eunuch from Ethiopia and by doing so helped to spread the gospel to that distant land.
In Acts 10:34 when Peter yielded to the Holy Spirit he was lead to a Gentile home, a place he would not have gone without the prompting of the Holy Spirit. By yielding to the Spirit, he opened his mouth and the Lord was able to spread the gospel to an unreached people group.
In all three instances, yielding to the Holy Spirit literally set a new course for the world. The Lord is still doing the same thing today; He still desires to use His children to change the course of the world by simply yielding to the Holy Spirit and being willing to open our mouths to share. Are we willing to let God express Himself through us? It is a living relationship with Him and God hasn’t just called pastors into it, He has called everyone into it.
Romans 4:13, “Clearly, God’s promise to give the whole earth to Abraham and his descendants was based not on his obedience to God’s law but on a right relationship with God that comes by faith.”
Abraham was by no means a perfect man, but because he had a right relationship with God the Lord honored him and said that he is the father of all who believe. God blessed him because he believed God and journeyed through life with Him. God honors faith and blesses those who believe His promises. To those who fear God the message of salvation comes.
God promised Abraham that he would be the father of not just one nation, but the father of many nations. God is pouring out His Spirit and bringing salvation to all people through faith in Christ. Are we going to follow in Abraham’s footsteps by yielding to the Spirit and being willing to allow God to express Himself through us?
All Old Testament portraits of God are pictures of God, just types and shadows until the time when Jesus came in the flesh. Everything in the Old Testament is there for us to learn from but until we look at Jesus we have not really seen God.
Humans are susceptible to what’s called the infatuation syndrome; we get caught up in the moment, in the excitement of certain people and events. When one looks at what God is doing on a global scale the concern becomes that in all the excitement and hype, where does it ultimately lead? Is God still in the middle of it for the individual?
The Pentecost Walk is a call to the body of Christ in America to repentance in unity. Sinners sin because that is what they are good at; we shouldn’t be dismayed at what those who don’t know Christ practice. God has called His body to stand in the gap for our nation. The only way a nation can ever be healed is for that nation to come together as one and say, “God heal us.” God has a plan and we get to be a part of it. As the church goes, so goes the nation.
Jesus said, “Those who have ears to hear, hear what the Spirit of God is saying.”
What is the Holy Spirit saying and doing in the earth right now? It is an important question to ask.
Are we positioning ourselves to hear what He is saying?
How many of you have been led astray? Whether in a spiritual way or merely having your GPS tell you the wrong turn, it probably is safe to assume we have all been led astray at one point or another in our lives. Through being led astray so many times, we learn to become dependent upon ourselves and not on God. There's something in us that always wants to get the ball back in our court. Through this opposition can we place our trust in the Good Shepherd?
God constantly reminds us that He should be on the throne, that He alone is King of our lives. We often put lots of worth and self-importance into our things: having the bigger house, the best car, or the highest salary. We pride ourselves on our friendships with others, attend Bible study, and engage in charity work. While Jesus encourages us to be in community with one another, our BEST and most WORTHWHILE friendship is with God.
God created man to interact and create relationships with other people. There is much importance and need for people to be connected, as loneliness is a hunger that needs to be fed. Loneliness can be cured by establishing a relationship with the Lord, as well as cultivating meaningful relationships with others.
It can seem as if our world is busy and full, but we have a God who is looking for those who are okay with being interrupted for the sake of the lonely.
Though people can chose between good and evil, sometimes evil seeps into our lives without choice. During these events, God makes a decision whether to intervene or not. How God decides, is one of many mysteries; either way, it is all part of his plan of molding each person in his image.
God made a round circle and called it a circle. He made rules for the Universe, and determined what they were and how they were going to operate. God sets all in place and honors it forever, because that is how it is made. Can god make a rock so big he can’t lift it? Bluntly no, but God can make a rock that he chooses not to move.
“God is not turned off by what we consider darkness. In God’s heart he has a prophetic plan for every person and every place. Things that we’ve written off, judged, and have given over to darkness; the heart of God has a redemption plan”
