Este versículo del Salmo 3 me llamo la atención. En medio del caos y angustia, el rey David hace una pausa para reconocer un acto de fe a través de su descanso: "Me acosté y dormí, pero me desperté a salvo, porque el Señor me cuidaba." Salmo 3:5
Dios nos llama a caminar con Él, no a lograr más, hacer más cosas o ser más productivos. Nos llama a caminar con Él para que podamos experimentar el deleite y la confianza de descansar en Él.

This verse in Psalm 3 stopped me in my tracks. In the midst of chaos and turmoil, King David pauses to acknowledge an act of faith through his rest -- "I lay down and slept, yet I woke up in safety, for the Lord was watching over me." Psalm 3:5
God calls us to walk with Him -- not to achieve more, do more things or be more productive. He calls us to walk with Him so that we may experience the delight and trust in resting in Him.

Genesis 31:5-9 He said to them, “I have noticed that your father’s attitude toward me has changed. But the God of my father has been with me. You know how hard I have worked for your father,but he has cheated me, changing my wages ten times. But God has not allowed him to do me any harm. For if he said, ‘The speckled animals will be your wages,’ the whole flock began to produce speckled young. And when he changed his mind and said, ‘The striped animals will be your wages,’ then the whole flock produced striped young. In this way, God has taken your father’s animals and given them to me.

Reading the Bible as a Latina Pentecostal PK: As a Latina growing up in an immigrant community, I've witnessed how education has very little to do with our calling and service in the Lord's Kingdom, contrary to what the role of education in the Western church. Checkout this episode focusing on these verses:
Acts 4:13-14 The members of the council were amazed when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, for they could see that they were ordinary men with no special training in the Scriptures. They also recognized them as men who had been with Jesus. But since they could see the man who had been healed standing right there among them, there was nothing the council could say.
Proverbs 11:33 A gossip goes around telling secrets, but those who are trustworthy can keep a confidence.
Reading the Bible as a Latina Pentecostal PK: "As for Ishmael, I will bless him also, just as you have asked. I will make him extremely fruitful and multiply his descendants. He will become the father of twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation." Genesis 17:20
Yet another example of how God redeems the decisions of our past. God was kind towards Abraham and Ishmael as God chose to bless Ishmael despite Abraham and Sara's striving to fulfill God's promise by their own efforts.
This episode was inspired by the desert exhibition at the zoo. I noticed the beauty of the flowers in the desert and was in awe of how God perfectly designed life to be able to withstand the desert. This is true for us as believers as we encounter prolonged periods of trials that feel like a spiritual desert. Listen to this episode to hear how David withstood the desert in Psalm 63 and the lessons we can take from it.
The Bible is a gift from God that equips us and sustains us through heavy seasons. Psalm 77 is one passage that changed the way I prayed during a dark season of grieving in my life. In this episode, I talk about the four sections in Psalm 77 and how you can use them to pray and walk through difficult seasons in your life.
We’re all in a hurry to get to resurrection Sunday and celebrate victory. However, slowing down in the heaviness and darkness of our trials creates space for Jesus to form us as believers to strengthen our faith and to be able to say what Paul said, “I have learned the secret of living in every situation.”

“I’ve disappointed God too many times.” “I disappointed God yet again.” These are thoughts that many believers struggle with. These thoughts have also been the reason why some have walked away from following Jesus. Given that this is such a major struggle for so many, it’s important to ask the question– is it even possible to disappoint God? Let’s take a look to see if God is actually someone who can be disappointed.
I most often see the church engage with the topic “church hurt” in a defensive way, which leads to more harm than good to those who have in fact been hurt in the church. In this episode, I talk about how God actually invites us to address conflict because He has already provided us with the guidance needed to face it. God isn’t intimidated by conflict in the church, but rather calls us to reflect who He is in the midst of it.
For those of us who were raised in the Latino church, we have a lot of memories of the days spent en la iglesia. Some of us, though, were left hurting and with triggers.. If that’s you, you deserve compassion not judgment. You deserve healing. I hope this episode can fill you with hope for what God wants to give you: healing.

In the healing God's given me, I learned how disappointment tells the story of my soul - pointing to the spaces of my heart that need God the most. I share in this episode how my upbringing in the Pentecostal church left me feeling like I wasn't enough at times when I experienced the Holy Spirit differently. This feeling of not being enough has been a theme in my life but Jesus has been teaching me how he sees by efforts through the story of the widow who gave all she had, 2 coins. Coming into this new year, I want to see through the eyes of Jesus, with the tender love He saw that widow who gave the best she could.
