The better our perspective is while we wait will keep us encouraged, and our faith in the Lord that He is able to deliver what it is He promised. Jesus came that we would not just have life but have it more abundantly however so many Christians have clung to the idea that an abundant life is based off of one’s circumstances; how much money one has or what kind of car one drives, etc. As the end of season 2 is drawing nearer, Geneé and Rachel Emerald give a friendly reminder that we can have a peaceful abundant life while we’re still on this earth regardless of what challenges life may bring. The devil only comes to steal but Jesus came to give.

In our society, Thanksgiving is only once a year but as Saved, Bible believing Christian’s, Thanksgiving is every day! Psalm 100:4 tells us “Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise! Give thanks to Him; bless His name!” This doesn’t sound like once year does it? Look at all the good the Lord has done in your life and you’ll see that you can’t limit the praises due His name! He is worthy of all of our praise, our thanksgiving, our obedience, our everything! If you don’t take away anything else from this episode take this: God gave you the breath in your lungs and without that you’d be dead! Thank Him for all that He’s done, all that He will do, all that He’s doing. Thank Him for who He is, period!!!!

There was once a saying “you are what you wear” and when you think about it, it proves to be true. In this episode, we encourage our sisters to please our Lord internally and externally. This does mean that modesty is not limited to what we wear but also reflects what is in our heart. We are to not put all of our investment on our external appearance rather we are to invest in the internal. 1 Peter 3:3-4 tells us Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious. Modesty is not “old fashioned” but is a command from our Lord.

In this episode of “That’s My Sis”, we discuss the topic of friendships between men and women and how we can’t be friends. As with everything, we need to take a look at what God’s intention was so we went back to the beginning to see what God actually created man and woman for. We also tackle what science has to say about this as we know there are chemical responses that occur when men and women interact. Since we have no biblical example of a man and woman being friends, we shouldn’t even put ourselves in such tempting positions. The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 7:1-2, 9 “Now concerning the matters about which you wrote: It is good for a man not to have sexual relations with a woman. But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband. To the unmarried and the widows, I say that it is good for them to remain single, as I am. But if they cannot exercise self-control, they should marry. For it better to marry than to burn with passion”. Man, Paul just gave us the business! He is explicitly saying because of temptation, a man needs a wife and a woman, a husband. Where’s the confusion?? Don’t tempt your flesh and flee from temptation sis!!

1 Corinthians 2:10-13, 16
“these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. For who knows a person’s thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual. For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.” Join us in the discussion of the root causes of overthinking and how we as Christian women can go before our Lord requesting help in this area. The definition of overthinking is “to think too much about something; to put too much time into thinking about or analyzing something in a way that is more harmful than helpful”. Do you find yourself doing this? Have you asked yourself or even God why? The Bible gives us what we are to think about in Philippians 4:8-9 “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.” Don’t be discouraged sis, keep your eyes and most importantly your thoughts on Jesus and He will give you the peace that transcends all understanding.
