It’s often said, half-truth is no truth. So real truth must be complete! That’s what God expects from all believers—to serve Him with complete devotion. Don’t be a Christian on Sunday, and then behave like the agent of Satan throughout the week. Psalm 86:11b summons us to complete devotion in service.
Paul gives Christians a charge in Philippians 2:12-18. To act as light where there is darkness. For example, show love where there is hatred, peace instead of war and virtues in place of vices. Believers are transforming agents
We are weak, but our God is strong. 2 Chronicles 32:1-15 informs believers that Yahweh fights and defeats the enemies of His people. Make Him your God and He will do same for you.
Name certain things society does not want you to do. In 2 Thess 3:6-13, Paul advises we do something God and people greatly approve of; that’s doing good! Never get tired of doing good!
Sex is one of the most controversial gifts that we have from God. It’s being used rightly and wrongly at the same time! 2 Corinthians 7:5-13 continues Paul’s very harsh rebuke on sexual immorality.
The author of Hebrews wants to see Christians grow in the faith. In life, children grow and become adults. Believers should do same in their spirituality as suggested by Heb 5:11-14
In this edition of Believers on Board, we start the day with great expectations. Paul in 2 Cor 7:2-7 advises that we look to God for help. It can come in different forms and sizes from many and various sources.
Proud people are not popular because they look low on others. Proverbs 16:18-19 highlights the destructive nature of pride and arrogance; that’s something to avoid.
James 2:14-26 gives believers practical advice: that faith and deeds must go together. Anyone who separates the two, is yet to understand the mission of Jesus.
Most people want to live above 100 years before they die. No problem! Ask why you want long life. Psalm 39:1-6 has some challenges for all of us.
2 Timothy 1:3-10 is the passage to read. Verse 7 says God has given all believers a distinct spirit. The spirit of power, the spirit of self-discipline. Do your own self assessment and see if you are bold and fearless for Christ.
What lasts for ever? The Word of God! All human beings come and go, so do other things. The irony of it is that some people neglect the permanent and focus on the transient! Is 40:1-9 has a message for all of us.
Psalm 19:7-14 reminds us that we are people who make many mistakes. So while we ask for God’s deliverance from errors, we should also be open to welcome corrections from others.
Have you ever seen a person who makes no mistakes? If you say Yes! Then you are wrong! Such people don’t exist! Since all make errors, Proverbs 3:11-14 advises us on correction in love
Do you know how to sing? If your answer is No, I will answer Yes for you. All of us can sing and praise God if we want to. Don’t complain about your crooked voice! God gave it to you, use it for what Col 3:12-16 advises us to do.
The world is full of pleasures and things that can derail you from God. Prophet Jeremiah 2:1-13 warns people against idol worship. That has unpleasant consequences.
From James 5:7-18, we are empowered and given the privilege to pray for others and God will heal them. Don’t fail to avail yourself of that unique gift from our Father in heaven.
Jesus advises believers to place spirituality over materialism. In Luke 12:23-31, He says people allow matters of food and clothing to dominate their lives, instead of giving priority to the valuable things of the Kingdom.
Today we read Phil 1:12-18, with focus on 18a. Human ego wants us to always be the success story; but Scripture wants that, and more! We should be glad when others succeed even more than we do.
The story of Ananias and Sapphira in Acts 5:1-11 warns us against the evil of telling lies. Have you ever told a lie? What were the consequences? Lies can kill you! So, avoid them!
The writer of Ecclesiastes speaks philosophically to us. In chapter 7:2 he says a Funeral is better than a Birthday. Do you agree with that? Listen to this edition of Believers on Board.
Reflection from Revelation 2:1-7. God knows the time and effort we take to do certain things. So, we must be patient and wait for Him to act.
