Welcome back! This episode I was privileged enough to sit down with one talented businesswoman, Sally from Mirosuna. Sally was a 9-5, corporate saleswoman who left the demands of her role to pursue entrepreneurship in the health and wellness space.

Our top tips
- Get great advice from a trust worthy expert - either an accountant or book keeper
- Get TRACKING! set up some online book keeping software such s Xero or MYOB to ensure you know where your money is going
- Put enough aside for tax time! This one is crucial in avoiding a nasty bill at the end of the year
- Do things by the book - don't try to cheat the tax man - he always wins!

Mental burnout in my experience can be worse than physical as a business owner!
working yourself to the bone seems like a good idea when you think of the money, but in the long term you are doing yourself a HUGE dis service and it will inevitably come back to bite you later.
Physical burnout is the result of mental burnout! if you do too many clients or work too many hours, your body will suffer and it is something that may impact on your longevity in the industry!

Lets be honest, we have all had, and will continue to have, complaints in our salons!
Here are a few helpful resources to handling them
Book - how to win friends and influence people
Acc / consumer affairs website
Now before you handle a complaint, you must have processes in place to prevent them! Make sure you have an up to date cancellation, refund and treatment policies in place and all clients fill thorough consultation forms for each appointment!
STEP BY STEP
- ALWAYS call the complainant!
- Call them by their NAME!
- Thank them for their feedback
- Let them speak ; find out what went wrong
- Find common ground - its always there
- Explain with kindness, offer a remedy where necessary
