They say the only constant in life is change. And with the changing of the seasons come inevitable goodbyes. Today on the podcast, we're having a short convo on how to say goodbye.
"It is right for me to feel this way about you all, because I hold you in my heart, for you are all partakers with me of grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel. For God is my witness, how I yearn for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus. And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God."
Philippians 1:7-11

“Within this Christian vision of marriage, here's what it means to fall in love. It is to look at another person and get a glimpse of what God is creating, and to say, "I see who God is making you, and it excites me! I want to be part of that. I want to partner with you and God in the journey you are taking to his throne. And when we get there, I will look at your magnificence and say, 'I always knew you could be like this. I got glimpses of it on earth, but now look at you!” ~Timothy Keller
When we think of marriage, sometimes we think of it with rose colored glasses, all roses and fairytales. But there's a deeper meaning played out after saying "I do." Today, we're continuing our gender role discussion, examining how they play out in marriage with special guest Andrea Hunter!

Stillness. It's something that we need so desperately in a frantic world but feels impossibly out of reach. Before mental health was even a hot topic, the Matthew 6 radically addressed the presence of anxiety and gave practical steps on how to not let it affect our lives. While we're looking for a road map on how to do more and worry less, the Bible gives some radical ways on how to grapple with the worry and fear that tries to take the controls. Today, we're talking about how to combat the anxiety that oppresses our lives and how Christ calls for us to live a better way.

Do you scroll through the 'gram and get sucked into other people's stories? Why can we get hooked on a new Netflix series and hang onto the cliffhangers? Do the stories we tell each other even matter? If you look around, we as human beings are naturally attracted to the construct of Story, and today, we're going back to the beginning of where it all started. If you think the Bible is dull, hard-to-understand, or just flat-out boring, this episode is for you.

This sermon is from May 10, 2022, as Ethan Jago finishes preaching from the book of Titus. In this sermon, Ethan shows us in the text how Christians can live in a culture steeped in perversion, hostility, and negativity. In the book of Titus Paul challenges young Titus who is charged with finding, identifying, and growing Godly leaders, getting churches healthy, and combatting false teachers and those who may pervert Christians' way of thinking. Christians need to be less concerned with what the culture tells us success is, and revisit a Godly perspective and worldview based on Scripture. To learn more about Crossroads young adult ministry visit www.olivebaptist.org/youngadults or the Instagram page @crossroadsatolive.
This sermon from Ethan Jago was recorded on May 10, 2022 at Olive Baptist Church in the young adult ministry Crossroads. In this sermon Ethan exegetes Titus chapter three and focuses on three main points for understanding as Paul writes to encourage Titus in his ministry on the Island of Crete. If you are interested in joining our Crossroads ministry goto www.olivebaptist.org/youngadults or follow our Instagram page @crossroadsatolive
We see throughout Scripture the command to meditate on God's Word day and night. In Joshua 1:8 it says, "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success."
Here is Titus chapter one being read by Andrea Hunter. Listen to this on your drive, in your home, as you are going about your life and reflect on what God has done in and through you.
In this episode, your host Ethan Jago is joined by Tim and Andrea Hunter as we discuss and get a history of the Roe vs. Wade debate that is currently sitting at the level of the Supreme Court and the implications this means. Additionally, they discuss this past Tuesday's sermon at Crossroads gathering in Paul's letter to Titus in 2:11-15 as Christians are encouraged to live for the future hope of Christ Jesus. Finally, the discussion turns to ways to be encouraged or encourage others coming out of a legalistic background, how to interact with family members who are still stuck, and the biblical method of approaching this subject with humility and grace. "Hey crossroads podcast I have a question on something that I have been wrestling with concerning church membership. I go to school in Pensacola and attend a few different churches and love attending Tuesday nights at Crossroads. However, I have heard Ethan mention about the importance of joining a local church. Why is this important and what about for someone like me that is here but not permanently, should I join a church?"

"Hey guys. Love the podcast keep it up. Can you give a brief history of the New Testament Apostles speaking in tongues and compare it to today? Many movements such as the New Apostolic Reformation and Pentecostalism continue to do so in today’s age. How does it compare to biblical times and what biblical support is there in contradicting these false movements’ use of this prior activity? It tends to be a touchy subject in many circles."

"If a guy and girl believe the same gospel, but the girl believes other things about the Holy Spirit and how the Spirit is revealed and that gifts are a sign that you have the Holy Spirit in you and the couple believed differently about those things, is that being unequally yoked?"

"I recently stumbled across a documentary called American Gospel. In this documentary I came across a few names I have not heard before. One of the names I googled, and I kept seeing “reformation theology” pop up. Can you please explain what is reformation theology and is that different from normal theology?"

On our very first episode, Ethan Jago and Travis Walser discuss today's question from the audience...
"Hey Ethan, I recently went home for Christmas and I had a conversation with my family (they are catholic) and I wanted to share the gospel with them. But when I did they told me they believe that and Catholicism and Evangelicals are the same. My question is, what is the difference between Catholics and us?"
