As Floridians know, the Florida coastline was not always characterized by glitzy high-rises and massive condos that clutter the beach front. Not that many decades ago, it was easy to see the ocean driving down A-1A. The oceanside was a respite that shaped communities, lives, and livelihoods. This was South Miami. The South Beach Shark Club film directed and produced by Robert Ramos and Pedro Gomez is a compelling documentary about real-life shark fishermen who mentored boys and teens who were seeking something bigger than themselves. It tells the story of a club that evolved into an extended family that gave kids a reason to thrive on the shores of Miami and stay out of gangs. It is a step back to a bygone era of South Miami before commercialization. The documentary premiered at The Miami International Film Festival to sold-out audiences and won a MIFF Documentary Achievement award. It captures the South Miami community in the 1960s and 70s and the role the ocean and beach played in shaping a community. It is a story of the rugged, rogue fishermen who mentored the boys as surrogate fathers and taught them how to reel in the biggest catch ever. It is the best fish story ever told. Miss Flatbed Red has been creating art from the moment she could hold a pencil. She can draw big rigs like no one else. She keeps it between the lines but in a different way, creating compelling big rig artwork. Music won out over art at the college level, taking her to Bowling Green State University’s College of Musical Arts for a Bachelor of Music in Music Education. Her main instrument was the trumpet, but she also played piano and studied conducting. All along the way, she continued to draw – mostly portraits in pencil. In 2012, Red relocated to London to pursue a Foundation Diploma from the University of the Arts London. She served as an apprentice to London-based portrait painter JHL Beattie where she learned classical painting and portraiture techniques. The Spring of 2016 brought Red (and her beloved cat, Tasha) back to Ohio. She married an avid historic truck-lover in May. In March 2017, she went with him to the Mid-America Truck Show, sketchbook in tow. While drawing her very first semi, she received her first truck commission. Since then, she has refined her technique and developed her unique style. “Flatbed Red” was born in the summer of 2017. She attends truck shows and creates on-location drawings. She also does custom studio drawings of trucks, pets, or almost anything else! This lady is super talented. You will be awestruck like we are. Tune in to learn more about Miss Red.

The driving force behind The Liberty Projects has been JP Hoffman - a service-disabled veteran. JP helps veterans transition to civilian life, assists with VA benefits applications or facilitating their disability ratings status. A close childhood friend of JP’s named Nick, who he had known since grade school, sadly committed suicide in 2018. This pivotal event sparked the Liberty Projects. JP had seen too much death and suicide with our veterans and was determined to prevent this from happening again whenever possible.
JP is a Master Farrier with a background in ranching, agriculture, rodeo and horse training. His skills and knowledge led he and family to adopt and train wild mustangs. They began to bring in veterans to work with the horses at their ranch and worked with close friends and experts on holistic healing. JP and his close friend Laura Perry formed The Liberty Projects. We help connect drivers and volunteers. This is a temporary service for drivers who are in need of a meal. We only help 3 times in a 6 month period.
☆☆Our Mission☆☆
During the holidays, EVERY driver is encouraged to participate.
We work with volunteers covering 48 States and Canada to assist in bringing drivers a hot meal. While many of our volunteers are only available during the holidays, we do have some who help year round. If you find yourself broke down, sitting overnight at a customer without food or needing a plate due to circumstances beyond your control, we will do our BEST to pair you with a volunteer. There is never a guarantee!!
Some volunteers will opt to send a few dollars to the driver. That is a LAST option. Please do NOT ask any volunteer to send/give you money in replacement of food. It's rude and not accepted!

McCormick explores the origins and definition of happiness and tries to provide readers with simple step-by-step suggestions on how to achieve it.
The back of the book cover describes it as a “guidebook to the secrets of living a life of happiness and fulfillment.’’

The Wall That Heals
On Veterans Day 1996, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF) unveiled a replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., designed to travel to communities throughout the United States. Since its dedication, The Wall That Heals has been displayed at nearly 700 communities throughout the nation, spreading the Memorial’s healing legacy to millions.
Bringing The Wall home to communities throughout our country allows the souls enshrined on the Memorial to exist once more among family and friends in the peace and comfort of familiar surroundings. The traveling exhibit provides thousands of veterans who have been unable to cope with the prospect of facing The Wall to find the strength and courage to do so within their own communities, thus allowing the healing process to begin.
The main components of The Wall That Heals are The Wall replica and the mobile Education Center.

Truckers Emergency Assistance Responders
Truckers Emergency Assistance Responders – T.E.A.R. was founded in 2019 by three truck drivers who saw a need to help fellow drivers that suddenly find themselves stranded out on the road and unable to get home with their belongings.
Issues such as carrier abandonment, wage theft, retaliation, truck accident, sexual misconduct between trainers/co-driver teams, and other various scenarios are what cause truck drivers to become stranded out on the highway with pets and belongings. Too often, these drivers must suddenly find a way to get home, if they have a home at all.
Truckers Emergency Assistance Responders – T.E.A.R. is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization recognized by the IRS in October 2019.
T.E.A.R. is not a handout but rather a hand-up to help fellow truck drivers in distress, get back to work after a traumatic event to fill the gap when other driver resources are not available.

Wreaths Across America
While we have Veterans Day in the fall and Memorial Day in the spring, our servicemen and women sacrifice their time and safety every single day of the year, to preserve our freedoms. And in many homes across the U.S., every day there is an empty seat for one who is serving or one who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. That is why our mission to Remember, Honor and Teach lasts all year long, far beyond the single day in December when we coordinate wreath-laying ceremonies. All throughout the year, Wreaths Across America works in a number of ways to show our veterans and their families that we will not forget—we will never forget. Read on to see the many ways we Remember and Honor our veterans, and Teach the next generation to do the same.

Aaron Elson
From Aaron Elson:
They say memory is the second thing to go.
Lieutenant Jim Flowers would say that whenever he hit a speed bump in telling the story of Hill 122, where he lost parts of both of his legs and was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross.
In books, blogs, websites, audiobooks, and now a podcast, I’ve been preserving the memories of the Greatest Generation for more than three decades
When I display my work at air shows and re-enactments, people often say “What a great idea” and “Why haven’t I seen anything like this before?”
That’s because Oral History Audiobooks are unique.
In 1994 I wrote “Tanks for the Memories.” I heisted the title from a bumper sticker that said “Tanks for the Memories: 712th Tank Battalion in World War II.” Armor magazine called the book “must reading for every tanker.” I was stoked. But I had a decision to make: With a full-time job as a newspaper copy editor, was I going to spend my free and vacation time over the next few years promoting the book, or was I going to continue interviewing veterans while they were still available.
I opted for the latter, which turns out to have been, with apologies to Mister Monk, both a blessing and a curse. My archive has grown to more than 700 hours of interviews and recorded conversations. I have written six full-length and more than a dozen smaller books, and at 70 years of age, I still have several major projects, each of which could occupy an author for years, waiting to be tackled.

Be Prepared to Stop
Jennifer Clymer - Producer
BE PREPARED TO STOP is a documentary about our love of and absolute dependence on the great American highway. We rely on those roads and the countless big rigs rolling down them to supply us with just about everything we use every day. But this round-the-clock lifeline has become so entrenched in our daily routines, we don’t even notice it any more. Now that neglect is reaching a crisis point. Roads and bridges are failing; safety concerns are mounting; skilled drivers are retiring; government is at a standstill. In order to raise awareness about the impact the impending breakdown will have on all our lives, BE PREPARED TO STOP aims to not only explain the issues but also to energize stakeholders to push for solutions that will improve the current situation and build towards a secure future.

National League of Cities
America’s infrastructure problems cannot wait. Our transportation network is a knot of congestion and disrepair, our broadband and connectivity lags behind the rest of the world, families drink from bottled water in the absence of safe tap water, and all the while, federal partnership for infrastructure has faltered, allowing America to fall behind an ever-increasing demand.
Cities are leading the way on America’s infrastructure challenges and solutions, by building intermodal, sustainable and interconnected infrastructure networks that support a modern economy. But there are limits to what we can accomplish alone. Cities, towns and villages are calling on Congress to Rebuild with Us.
