Gray Haze: Recent Episodes

Gray Haze Podcast

Gentle steam lifts, lazy, whirling to the ceiling above. You hold a warmth in your hands, the drink fueling the glow in your chest. On the road, in your room, somewhere or nowhere in between. In this moment, time has no dominion. Our oppressive world, lost in chaos and turmoil, reaches far and wide to eclipse the horizon's of hopes and dreams. But here, now, just for a moment, there's respite. A peace, a serenity. A calm voice, a soft sound. It cannot last forever, but for a moment, the tranquility can live timeless. My thoughts and feelings lay adrift here, walking the path in that gray haze. Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/gh5/support

I've spent hours, inside myself. Looking, searching, trying to comprehend. To understand. Exactly, what I am. Who I was. Why I would act the way I do, or think the way I did. There was plenty of frustration as I fell into repetitious cycles, lacking the comfort of some logical resolution. Other times, I could feel this sensation, like a comforting glow, as I stumbled upon some gilded reflection of myself. Endlessly I'd challenge everything I thought to be true, with little recourse for assurance that I was any closer to being able to define the person I am. It felt like, trying to confine everything, all the aspects and sensations, all the memories and feelings, into just one being, one person, it was impossible. It was hypocritical, conflicting. I needed another answer. I needed a better relationship with the person I am. My solution never did come from myself. It came from another. They told me what we are, and then I knew. Every part of what we feel, every opinion, every desire, every inclination, it holds it's own song. Each and every are all a part of us. Makes us what we are. We are, a sea of voices.

I could not find the artist for every song, but I will leave a link and timestamp to the track I got their music from. When I find out who they are, I shall attribute them accordingly. I'm sorry if I can't find you for the beautiful music you've made, but I appreciate it's usage very much.

Before you ever begin walking the path of accomplishment, you must first harbor the opportunity for it's completion. We call that, potential. I'd always thought of my potential as a redemptive quality. No matter how I might waste my time, or efforts, I'd still always bank on the knowledge that there is so much I could do. So much I could be. I thought of my potential as a blessing, a gift, something that made me special and important just by existing. That was, until I put my efforts into realizing such potential. Then I felt chained by it's oppression. Knowing of everything I could do, but not properly channeling my capabilities into the realities I demanded of myself. Feeling like I couldn't give up, but also, not capable of forging the future I rested all my dreams upon. It took a lot of self-love to accept that potential is just the road to growing as a person, and so long as you keep pushing and struggling to be a little better than you were before, you are always living as the best version of yourself.

I've always found beginning something to be the hardest part of any project I work on. I spend hours, fantasizing about what kind of project I can make, the world I want to see come into being. Plotting every step, all the work I'd do. While working itself, I devote myself to seeing my passion come true, in a blind determination to reach the end and bask in my accomplishment. Between these two, I must begin. That's when I feel my world close around me. I feel the full weight of what I'm doing rest on me. Beset by fear of what happens if I fail, burdened by the assumption of how hard and long my toil will take. But beginnings can be the most important part of your labor of love. It's the start of something special, after all.
