Welcome to Brand for Good, the show for purpose-driven leaders who want to build timeless brands and create sustainable impact. In other words, do well AND do good.
Tune in each week to learn from Lorraine Schuchart, a disruptive brand strategist and storyteller. As an Addy Award-winning copywriter, Lorraine wrote for some of the world’s most influential brands. As an accredited public relations strategist, she created award-winning campaigns and provided counsel to multi-million dollar organizations. Now, as owner of Prosper for Purpose, Lorraine partners with clients to create peerless, profitable brands.
After more than a year of mostly staying quiet on my personal Instagram and Facebook, I’m finally back—and I want to share why I left, what I learned, and why I’m returning differently.
In this episode, I open up about how overseeing social media strategy for clients—something I love—began to drain my own desire to show up online. I talk about the quiet season I chose for myself, what it cost me (very little), and what I gained (a lot). And I share how developing my Category of One Brand program reminded me that sustainable visibility is not just something I teach—it’s something I need to live.
This is for anyone who’s ever felt burned out by content creation, unsure how to return, or afraid that stepping away might cost them everything. I’m here to tell you it won’t.

In this episode, I welcome trailblazing entrepreneur Jared Rosenthal, who left the corporate world behind to start Health Street with nothing but a used RV and a bold idea—turning a mobile DNA testing truck branded "Who’s Your Daddy?" into a national media sensation.
Jared unpacks how unconventional branding, calculated risks, and a deep understanding of trust and technology helped him grow Health Street into a successful tech-driven company serving over 50,000 businesses. From being the subject of VH1’s Swab Stories to navigating the new terrain of AI-driven search, Jared’s story is both inspiring and incredibly instructive for entrepreneurs navigating today’s evolving landscape.
What You’ll Learn:
Memorable Quotes:
“When you’re on your own, you don’t have the restrictions. You can take smart risks—because the worst-case scenario is spray-painting over a bad idea.”
“Trust is the new currency. Not just with your customers, but with Google. And with AI crawling everything, it matters even more now.”
“Entrepreneurship shouldn’t feel inaccessible. Sometimes people just need to see it modeled to believe it’s possible.”

Whether you’re building your credibility, growing your influence, or just tired of being the best-kept secret… this one’s for you.
“You Can’t Build a Personal Brand Without PR” is more relevant now than ever, so I’m bringing it back to your ears.
Where does personal branding intersect with public relations? When people hire me to help them grow their brand online, they want to increase their VISIBILITY, INFLUENCE and REPUTATION.
Before people talked about "branding," they called this work “public relations” (or “PR,” for short). The work hasn't changed, but it has expanded. Think of brand identity as the foundation and growing your brand as PR.
That is the focus of this week’s episode, as well as:
I also share a list of what should be included in a comprehensive brand identity package.
🎧 And don’t forget — I’m diving even deeper into these strategies LIVE at Peerless and Profitable, my free, live brand training on June 3.

This is your episode.

In uncertain economic times, many businesses instinctively cut their marketing budgets—but history shows that this is the worst move you can make. The brands that continue marketing strategically don’t just survive downturns; they come out stronger and more profitable on the other side.
In this episode, I’m sharing exactly what’s working right now in marketing, so you can keep growing your business—without wasting time or money. From owned and earned media strategies to community-driven marketing, smart paid ads, and customer retention, I’ll break down how you can stay visible, build trust, and drive revenue—even in uncertain times.

Internships can be a game-changer for both students and small businesses. They provide eager talent with real-world experience while helping business owners tackle important tasks. But here’s the catch—internships should always be paid.
In this episode of Brand for Good, I’m sharing why I have never, and will never, hire an unpaid intern. I talk about my own experience as a paid PR intern at a comedy club—how that summer gave me confidence, hands-on experience, and an incredible learning opportunity. That experience shaped the way I see internships today and set the standard for how I hire interns in my own business.
I also dive into the data—why paid interns receive more job offers, how unpaid internships create barriers for students from lower-income backgrounds, and why a Brand for Good should never expect young professionals to work for free. If you're a business owner, I challenge you to rethink your approach to internships—and do better.
What You’ll Learn in This Episode: ✅ Why internships are a win-win for students and businesses ✅ The eye-opening statistics on paid vs. unpaid internships ✅ How unpaid internships create barriers for students from lower-income backgrounds ✅ Why ethical brands should always pay their interns ✅ Practical alternatives if your business is on a tight budget

Did you know that nearly 50% of entrepreneurs report feeling lonely in their journey? And for women, that number is even higher.
For many women, this sense of isolation isn’t just about business; it seeps into personal life as well. While we’re building, growing, and leading, we sometimes find that our existing social circles don’t quite understand the unique challenges we face. And if we don’t intentionally build our own communities, loneliness can become an unintended companion on our entrepreneurial journey.
This is what led me to create Everbloomer, a space for women to bloom.

This week, we are revisiting why you need a strategic vision for your business. In this episode, which originally aired nearly a year ago, I discuss why vision boards and vision statements are not enough to achieve visionary goals. I also explain why I support the idea of formulating a 'big, bold, three-year vision' as a foundation for your business.
Later, I reveal my proprietary 'Magical Strategic Vision Process', which starts with identifying one's core desired feeling and proceeds with setting priorities and determining actions to take in various areas of the business. Lastly, I invite you to join me in an upcoming strategic vision workshop!
The overarching message of this episode is the importance of creating an ambitious yet adaptable vision to inspire your team, create partnerships, and grow your business.

Amy Posner is a business growth mentor who helps creative freelancers take the uncertainty and complexity out of business building. Amy built six businesses, including a Manhattan design agency, a copywriting micro-agency and a $200k-plus-a-year freelance business. Through these experiences, she has learned that following someone else’s path to build your own business does not work. Every business is different, and every growth plan needs to take that into account.
In this episode, Amy and I discuss what it takes to build a creative business, why the term “freelancer” doesn’t deserve the bad reputation it gets, and tips for growing your business. Amy also shares why she believes she was able to take her brand with her from one business to another—and how you can do it too!

Prioritizing gratitude during the biggest sales period of the year may sound counterintuitive; especially since most, if not all, businesses are prioritizing sales promotions to acquire new customers. Yet energy focused here also fuels business growth.
Expressing appreciation to the people who impact our businesses seems obvious, but often we find it hard to do so or simply forget because we naturally focus on what is wrong or needs improvement.
In this episode, I discuss the simple steps you can take to implement a practice that has numerous benefits. I reveal evidence of the relationship between optimism, self-confidence, and gratitude and share how you can express gratitude to build stronger relationships.

In this episode of Brand for Good, we explore brand journalism, a storytelling approach that helps companies build relationships, establish trust, and create a compelling brand voice—without focusing on direct sales. With brand journalism, you can bypass traditional media channels and create a dedicated audience by telling authentic, engaging stories that resonate with your customers.
Tune in to discover:
Whether you’re a business owner, content creator, or marketer, this episode will give you the insights you need to elevate your brand through meaningful storytelling.
Key points: * Brand Journalism vs. Content Marketing: While content marketing is often transactional and focused on driving conversions, brand journalism prioritizes storytelling, trust-building, and long-term relationships. * Authenticity and Trust: Consumers are tuning out traditional ads, but they’re engaging with brands that provide authentic, valuable content. Brand journalism is an effective way to create this connection. * Building Your Brand Narrative: By telling your own stories, you can shape your brand’s narrative without relying on external publications. This helps you build authority and a loyal audience over time. * Long-Term Impact: Unlike time-sensitive promotional content, the stories you tell through brand journalism can have a long shelf life, continuing to engage your audience long after they’re published.

If we were to pull the thread from last week’s episode on human-centered marketing, it would lead to this week’s episode, Heart-Centered Sales.
My guest today is sales expert Dora Rankin, who recently evolved her positioning and her brand through a lecture, a course, and a book called The Heart Sell.
Join us as Dora discusses the camaraderie of communities in the midwest–where she and I both live–and how the opportunity to speak at Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Ohio served as the launch of her dialed-in positioning. She also shares the story of her first mentor at work and how that experience contributed to her philosophy of caring for others as the core first step in her sales process.

In this episode of Brand for Good, we challenge the notion that bigger is always better in marketing. While large numbers might seem impressive, they don’t always translate into success. We dive into why focusing on the right metrics and reaching the right audience is what really drives business growth.
We discuss:
If you’re tired of chasing vanity metrics and want to focus on what really matters, this episode is for you!
Key Takeaways * Bigger Doesn’t Mean Better: A large audience isn’t valuable unless they’re the right audience. Focusing on quality over quantity can lead to better engagement and revenue. * The Right Metrics Matter: Identifying and tracking metrics that align with your business goals is more important than chasing high follower counts or likes. * Niche Content is Powerful: Creating content for a specific, well-defined audience helps build stronger connections and drives meaningful results. * Social Algorithms Favor Niche Content: Platforms are now prioritizing niche content, making it easier to reach your ideal audience without needing a massive following.

Hiring an expert to consult on a specific area of your business can bring valuable insights that transform your company. But which experts does your business need and when? That’s what I’m breaking down for you in this episode of Brand for Good.
I believe that there are 5 essential areas of your business that require expertise and if you don’t have that expertise, you may want to hire someone who does. That doesn’t mean this person has to be an employee—instead, look for the best expert you can find (and can afford) for each stage of your business.
Listen in as I describe what these five key experts can offer your business, plus three additional experts that have proven invaluable to my company.

In this episode, I discuss how to navigate misalignment between your business offerings and your personal aspirations. As I continue to take you behind the scenes with me while I upbrand my agency, Prosper for Purpose, I also want to share some of the deep work that is necessary during the process, especially when business changes are a driving force.
If you’ve ever wanted to deconstruct your business and build something that feels fresh and exciting, you’re not alone. You are not your business. It is human nature to evolve and change, and sometimes, that desire occurs within the framework of your business.
So, how does this tie into branding? One of the core principles of the Brand for Good philosophy is that a well-built brand can evolve alongside you. I often tell my clients that brand work is soul work. It's not simply about your offerings or your website’s appearance; it’s about how you want to feel about your company, the experience you wish to provide, and how you hope others will feel as a result. In short, it’s about the essence and impact of your business.
Tune in to learn how I’m navigating this process with Prosper for Purpose, and take notes on how to approach it for your own business.

Over the next few weeks, I’m taking you behind the scenes with me as I upbrand my agency, Prosper for Purpose. Follow along to get ideas that you can apply to your own business!
In this episode, I am sharing some of the inspiration for my company’s upbrand. I’m also discussing some of the business decisions I’ve made about Prosper’s position in the market and a once-beloved service we’re no longer promoting.
Here are two of the four decisions that are driving my strategy and inspiration:
If you’re branding along with me, take stock of what you offer and what you actually do in your business. Is what you created serving who you are now? It’s good to re-evaluate your business every three years and consider what, if anything, you’d like to change.
Tune in to learn how I approach this!

This episode is all about brand aura, the energy that your brand radiates—or what we might call, its glow. Brand aura also encompasses how that energy is perceived by your audience—their core reaction or feeling when experiencing it.
Brand aura is about the images and feelings that a brand provokes. It calls to a consumer’s self-identity, their aspiration, and their need to belong.
Join me as I discuss the auras of some of my favorite brands and share five steps you can take to glow-up the aura of your brand!

What is a personal brand, and why is it important? Who needs a personal brand?
How big of an audience do you need?
Since founding Prosper for Purpose in 2013, I have been asked a lot of questions about personal branding. A few years ago, I started a list, and in this episode, I’m answering as many of those questions as possible.
I invite you to join me and ask yourself, what is your top question about personal branding? If it isn’t answered in this episode, send an email to connect@prosperforpurpose.com to tell me what it is, and I’ll add it to my part two list!

In this episode, I share how indulging in some Sunday scrolling on social media led me to the realization that many small business owners are getting really bad advice about how to market online. In particular, there are two philosophies that seem to be gaining traction.
The first is that entrepreneurs should “always be selling.” As a professional communicator with more than three decades of experience, I can promise you, this philosophy will hurt any business that adapts it.
The second philosophy that worries me is the copied content trend. Tons of entrepreneurs are literally copying other entrepreneurs' content. From social posts to sales pages, it’s shocking, disrespectful, and illegal.
I believe people follow these trends because they think it will help them stand out and attract new customers, but the opposite is true. Tune in as I share what to do instead and tell you the number one thing you can do to cut through the noise in your market and become the leader you want to be!

Episode link: www.prosperforpurpose.com/episode-97-the-number-1-way-to-cut-through-the-noise Key Points: * When a business is always selling, it’s transactional. People view that business as a commodity and will typically only buy based on price because they’re not loyal. * Copying someone else’s work is always a bad move. It’s wrong to steal from someone else and their loyal followers will inevitably call you out for it. * These two examples demonstrate extremely big mistakes I see in marketing. The solution, however, is the same for both: focus on building your brand. * Businesses that build strong brands, from identity to experience, choose long-term value over short-term gain.

Beth Salyers, Ph.D., is Founder and CEO of Custom Learning Atelier, an alternative learning and development company for impact-driven leaders, knowledge workers, artists and their organizations. Like Prosper for Purpose, her company is a Certified B Corporation, using business as a force for good.
In this episode, I ask Beth about her role as a learning (re)designer of her field. Beth operates from a deep understanding that every experience, encounter, piece of content and structure either disrupts or reinforces the habitual. While this reality is inherently overwhelming, it also provides the abundance of variables needed to (re)design an equitable, meaningful and interconnected change in our world.
For over 20 years, Beth and her company have used neuroscience, experience design, implementation science and the social contexts of teaching and learning to educate, design and facilitate meaningful learning journeys for humans at work. Beth is Ohio born, North Carolina raised, and currently living and thriving in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Key Points * We are all programmed or conditioned to relate to, use, and engage with learning in a certain way. Unfortunately, this way does not align with values of equity, inclusivity, stakeholder economy, human potential, and using business as a force for good. * CLA exists to help folks unlearn these conditionalities and redesign learning within their organization and with their external stakeholders in order to uncover the latent potential we have as humans to make the world a better place for humans and the planet.
What if there were a way to measure a company’s entire social and environmental impact?
Well, there is! It’s called the “B Impact Assessment,” and it’s offered by the nonprofit, B Lab.
Since March is B Corp Month, I devote this episode of Brand for Good to discussing the ongoing paradigm shift in the business world and how the triple bottom line philosophy of “people, planet and profit” is here to stay. I also talk about how you can take steps to use business as a force for good with or without becoming a certified B Corp.

If you’re a business owner or a marketer of any kind, your success depends on convincingly conveying how your product or service will improve the life of your customer. In essence, you want to show them what’s possible by creating a world in which they benefit from your product.
To build a deeper connection, you should choose words that speak to the desires, aspirations and challenges of the people you’re trying to reach. That’s why, in this episode, I discuss how to create compelling stories using the words your clients need to use to build connection and trust. I also explain how you can differentiate yourself from your competitors and break through the noise in the market.

Episode link: https://theprosperproject.libsyn.com/episode-93-the-power-of-words-to-create-worlds Key Points: * Different philosophers have been credited with originating the phrase “words create worlds,” but now the phrase is often used by coaches, therapists, consultants and professors. * Our words have the power to attract or repel potential customers. * The way to attract the right customers is to listen to your audience, especially your customers and mirror their words back to them. * Trust is the cornerstone of any successful business relationship. The choice of words in marketing plays a significant role in establishing trust with your audience.
We’ve all heard the phrase “your network is your net worth,” and it’s true.
Your network is not just a list of names; it's a collection of opportunities, insights, and potential collaborations. Successful people understand this, and they invest time and effort in building and maintaining strong professional connections.
Who talks about you matters. The more influence the people who recommend you have, the more valuable your referrals will be. In this episode, I discuss the facts behind networking and how you can elevate your network for better referrals and results.

Key Points: * Brands elevate their influence through visibility and reputation. * While you control how visible you are, ultimately it’s what others say about you that builds your reputation. * WHO talks about you matters. * Building strategic relationships goes beyond the exchange of business cards; it’s about creating mutually beneficial relationships with good referral partners.
In my decades of experience working with bosses, I have come to believe that the main traits of great leaders include having a purpose beyond profit and ensuring their teams are trained, empowered and rewarded within the structure of that purpose.
In this episode, I talk about how statistics indicate that businesses that prioritize purpose over profit perform better financially and attract loyal customers and employees. I also dive into how I choose to lead with purpose and how you can too.
Leading people toward a common goal can be one of the most difficult but rewarding roles you can have. It is good for people and good for profit, which makes it doubly worth the investment!

Key Points: * “Having a purpose beyond profit” is the definition of being purpose-driven. * Purpose-driven brands capture more market share and grow on average three times faster than their competitors. * You don’t have to have a world-changing purpose, just a purpose about the impact you want to make that goes beyond profit. And then you need to state and implement that purpose into your company culture. * More individuals than ever before express a desire to work for a company that has a purpose. * Psychologists agree that perceived meaning in work positively correlates with both performance and trust in leadership.
In my 30+ years of writing content for traditional and digital media, I have discovered that there is a formula for writing that attracts and retains a clearly defined audience, ultimately building brand and increasing sales.
My 8 C’s for effective content form a framework that can help you write more effectively for your business. This framework will improve your blogs, podcasts, articles, and long form social media. Influence is the currency of the online market. Influence is mandatory for businesses that want to build a following, grow sales, or achieve a massive impact. Influence can also help you gain media attention, get book deals, speak on stages, earn awards, and so much more.

On her last episode of 2023, Lorraine discusses how to navigate end-of-year pressures faced by business owners, or what she calls “opposing pulls.” She explains the concept of “granting being” - exercising grace in the face of disagreements or perceived differences and highlighting the importance of separating individuals from their actions. She also talks about how it’s often most difficult to grant grace to ourselves but why it’s important to do so.
The episode concludes with an invitation to join Lorraine’s upcoming workshop, “Beyond the Vision Board: Casting a Magical Strategic Vision,” which is designed to help entrepreneurs plan strategically for the next three years of business. Finally, Lorraine reveals that The Prosper Project will undergo a rebranding and relaunch in the new year!

This week, Lorraine shares why you need a strategic vision for your business. She explains why vision boards and vision statements are not enough to achieve a visionary goal. She also tells you why she supports the idea of formulating a 'big, bold, three-year vision' as a foundation for your business.
Later, for the first time, Lorraine reveals her 'Magical Strategic Vision Process', which starts with identifying one's core desired feeling and proceeds with setting priorities and determining actions to take in various areas of the business. Then finally, she invites you to join her upcoming strategic vision workshop!
The ultimate message in this episode is the importance of creating an ambitious yet adaptable vision to inspire your team, create partnerships, and grow your business.

Where does personal branding intersect with public relations? When people hire Lorraine to help them grow their brand online, they are going to her for help with growing their VISIBILITY, INFLUENCE and REPUTATION.
Before people talked about "branding," they called this work “public relations” (or “PR,” for short). The work hasn't changed, but it has expanded. Think of brand identity as the foundation and growing your brand as PR.
That is what Lorraine discusses in this week’s episode, as well as:
She also shares a list of what should be included in a comprehensive brand identity package.

Though there is a prevalent philosophy among many of the best known marketers that business owners must be omnipresent on social media, that is neither feasible nor desired by many entrepreneurs–Lorraine included.
In this episode, Lorraine discusses where timeless strategies meet technology. She also shares how you can plan to uplevel your identity, expand your influence and spread your impact for easier, more sustainable growth in 2024 (and beyond)!

At a time when “busyness” and stress are high, why would you want to go beyond what you’re doing already, especially without a business rationale? …Because sometimes the ROI is joy, sometimes the ROI is purpose, and sometimes the ROI is bringing light into dark spaces.
There are many ways that each of us can go beyond our work for the people we serve, the people who work with us, for the communities we live and work in, and for the causes we believe in. We can bring that light, caring and compassion by going one step beyond.
In this episode, Lorraine talks about what this looks like for her and shares some ideas on what it might look like for you.

Jenny Kerr Schroen leads marketing for Delmarva Veteran Builders (DVB) in Salisbury Maryland, where she recently co-authored the children’s dystopian tale, Grit Leads to Greatness.
Jenny’s story is just as fascinating as the one she co-authored, and that’s where we start on today’s episode. She grew up the middle child of three sisters in a creative, close-knit family in Northern Kentucky near Cincinnati, Ohio. After college, she explored the world while practicing graphic design and travel blogging with her sisters. More than a decade later, she reconnected with and married a widowed college friend with four young children. That marriage and move to Salisbury brought her to Chris Eccleston, who hired her as the Creative Developer for DVB.
In 2020, Jenny won an international creative competition, for developing DVB’s ad campaign and a new tagline “Grit Leads to Greatness”. Extensive research regarding the power of Grit and her first-hand view of the workforce shortage inspired Jenny to co-write Grit Leads to Greatness—a nod to her own kids for persevering through tough times while demonstrating to all people the vital impact construction trades have on the world.
Last week, I interviewed Jenny’s boss and co-author. Now listen to her story and how everyone can cultivate the power of grit.

We’ve all heard the phrase “facts tell, stories sell.” It’s because stories convey information in ways that cause people to respond and remember more consistently than information alone. When we tell stories, we are more relatable and more memorable.
In this episode of The Prosper Project, I talk about an essential skill that a lot of entrepreneurs struggle with writing. The ability to write copy that moves the people you want to work with is critical to building your business. From the copy on your website, your sales pages, your social media, and your email marketing, a specific kind of writing can generate leads and close sales. I call this storyselling and in this episode, I tell you how to make it work for you.

Mary Lou Andre started her business with no clients, no capital, and very little personal money to build her dream company. So she sold her wedding dress and used the money to buy business cards and a used computer. Then she sold everything else she could in order to pay for a membership into a women’s organization where she could meet prospective clients.
25 years later, Mary Lou leads Dressing Well Inc. and Mary Lou Andre Executive Coaching. She is an author and a frequent speaker at women’s conferences. She runs a team of stylists who provide wardrobe consulting and personal branding services for seasoned executives, entrepreneurs, politicians, media personalities, and young men and women just starting their careers.
When the pandemic hit, her business was 80% in-person. Her pivot included turning her well-honed Dressing Well methodology detailed in her best-selling book “Ready to Wear: An Expert’s Guide to Choosing and Using Your Wardrobe” into a dynamic high-end 90 Day online program along with a moderately priced self-study video course as a down-sell to capture more market share and ultimately serve more people. Listen in as Mary Lou talks with me about her entrepreneurial journey and how she knew what to let go of and what to hold onto with both hands.

There are pivotal moments in every business.
Moments that change everything. . .
Some for the better. . .
Some not so much.
Moments where we experience something so profound that we remember them forever.
In January my agency, Prosper for Purpose, celebrated 10 years in business. And I’ve had a lot of those profound moments. In this episode, I’m sharing 10 of them (plus a bonus I spontaneously added during recording).
Whether these moments were wins or losses, I learned something from each. About business. About people. And about myself.
This one is personal.

Jennah Lear remembers the moment she fully realized she was meant for more. She was in her fourth year working in corporate and feeling frustrated that her skills were being underutilized.
“I realized I'm not in the meetings talking about change. I'm not seeing how the work I'm doing is actually impacting the end customer or client,” Jennah explains.
This recognition inspired Jennah to leave that position and launch Blue Loui Studio, where she offers visual branding and her proprietary program, C.A.S.P. (the Client Attraction Strategy Program).
Listen as Jennah and Lorraine discuss building a business and why believing and investing in yourself is a great way to move from “meant for more” to “having more.”

Philip Smith has some groundbreaking views on marketing. Smith is a serial entrepreneur, investor, and author who partnered with Kevin Harrington, one of the original sharks on Shark Tank. He also made the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies four times as a one-employee company working from home. Smith started his first business in 1998 and has sold four companies so far.
Smith’s latest business, All In One Marketing, was created to help companies scale and automate their digital marketing for less by combining many software platforms into one easy-to-use platform. Listen as Phil and Lorraine discuss how being a solopreneur doesn’t mean doing everything yourself and why not giving up too quickly is the key to success.

In this episode, I talk about the power of your brand in the age of artificial intelligence (AI), specifically in regard to marketing. Chat GPT is the newest technology to take the business world by storm. Copywriters and marketers are especially concerned about the potential impact of Chat-type technology.
In my last episode, I interviewed Thomas Helfrich, who has been using technologies like ChaptGPT for quite some time. Thomas maintains that AI can only enhance and speed up what we do as marketers and entrepreneurs but not replace it.
But since that conversation, which was recorded back in January, I’ve been wondering…
Is this new technology a gift or a curse?
Join me as I share my perspective.

Thomas "AI Nerd" Helfrich describes himself as the “Pioneering Founder's Secret Marketing Weapon.” As CEO of InstantlyRelevant.com, he builds trust and relevance for passionate founders, ambitious entrepreneurs, and pioneering startups by actually giving a sh!t about them, their brands, and their customers.
Back in January, I interviewed Thomas about the AI wave that has been heralded by many business owners but feared or dismissed by others, especially writers and designers. Thomas is not only an early adopter; he also has good news for businesses and creators alike. I have to admit, I’d already been geeking out over the new AI platforms at the time we spoke and you’ll hear that in my interview with Thomas.

Within four years he built a team that produced $100 Million in revenue and reached the top 1% income earner in the US.
I ask Eric about working with his father, choosing and training the right team and what it means to be a leader.

In the last episode, I spoke about five core truths I rediscovered as I faced a few of my false beliefs. If you listened to that episode, you may have found yourself resisting one or more of the truths I shared. In this episode, I share my final five core truths about being an entrepreneur. Which aspects of entrepreneurship tend to overwhelm you and lead you to question your abilities? What false beliefs have you encountered in building your business and what lessons have you learned from the ones you’ve overcome?
I recently hosted Women’s Entrepreneurship Day in Cleveland, Ohio, and, through that process, confronted some old familiar false beliefs of my own. My experience inspired me to share what I believe are five core truths about entrepreneurship. My hope is that they help you envision what your business can be: through focus, letting go of perfection, embracing sales, finding the lessons in failure, and becoming more resilient.
After listening to the episode, I would love to know what truths you’ve discovered along your own journey of entrepreneurship. Leave a comment or write a review, and make sure that you subscribe to The Prosper Project so you never miss an episode!

Prioritizing gratitude during the biggest sales period of the year may sound counterintuitive; especially since most, if not all, businesses are prioritizing sales promotions to acquire new customers. Yet energy focused here also fuels business growth.
Expressing appreciation to the people who impact our businesses seems obvious, but often we find it hard to do so or simply forget because we naturally focus on what is wrong or needs improved. In this episode, I share the simple steps you can take to implement a practice that has numerous benefits. I reveal scientific proof of the relationship between optimism, self-confidence, and gratitude and how you can express gratitude to build stronger relationships.

How can business owners ensure that their business supports gender equality? What steps can they take to encourage gender fairness across the entire business community?
Businesses are facing a growing number of lawsuits demanding fair pay and equitable opportunities. In this episode, I discuss this pressing issue with an ingenious gender fair advocate, Amy-Willard Cross. Amy is the founder of the Gender Fair Index, the first consumer rating system for gender equality. It rates companies on their leadership, employee policies, advertising, and philanthropy for women. Currently, the database holds four years worth of information on 300 companies, and soon, it will contain data on thousands more.
Amy graduated with honors from Wellesley College, and since the 1880s, all of the women in her family have attended women’s colleges. In 2012, Amy created the women's news site, VITAMIN W, which rated women’s banks and colleges. For the two decades prior to that, Amy worked as a writer and editor for a number of national magazines and two magazine startups, and Foreign Policy named her one of their 2015 Global Thinkers for her work on “Economic Girl Power.” She also speaks at numerous conferences on the topic of women's consumer power.
This week on The Prosper Project, Amy teaches listeners how entrepreneurs use Gender Fair data to support the movement toward gender equality. She talks about her business journey and reveals what led her to push for companies to adopt gender fair policies. She also shares her thoughts concerning equal pay and discusses the opportunities that women entrepreneurs have to stand up and speak out as gender fair advocates.
If you’re ready to grow your awareness and raise your voice in support of gender fairness–thereby helping empower women and develop a business community that adheres to gender fair policies–this episode is definitely for you.

If you’re a business owner, you probably have experience creating marketing funnels. You try to reach as many people as you can but only end up catching a few. The idea behind the marketing funnel is that casting a wide net will enable you to capture as many leads as possible before narrowing down prospective customers throughout each stage of the purchasing decision. For the last ten years, this has been the philosophy...but how effective is that strategy, really?
In this episode, Lorraine shares reasons why the popular marketing “click” funnel isn’t always effective and provides solutions for how the system can be improved. She offers strategies that can make the experience more enjoyable for potential clients, and she discusses three important ways to get more qualified leads for your business.
Make sure that you listen to the whole episode and take full advantage of Lorraine’s wisdom on how to flip your funnel!

How do you create a business that supports the lifestyle you want? How can you stop sweating the small tasks so you can focus on the things that will move your business forward?
In this episode, Lorraine’s guest, Staci Hauschild, addresses these questions and more. Staci is a director of operations and ClickUp Consultant who helps bogged down, busy-as-heck “fempreneurs” in need of serious organizational and project management. She teaches feminist entrepreneurs how they can smash the patriarchy via strategic planning, business management, and team leadership so they can claim a bigger slice of the profit pie, take business-free vacations (for real), and create positive changes for the world.
Staci reveals her strategic process for building a business that supports one’s lifestyle (as opposed to the other way around) and what inspired her to become a leader for female entrepreneurs. She discusses how she discovered ClickUp, what it is, and how it has helped her clients. She also shares some of her interesting travel stories and why she chose to settle down in her current home of Mexico.

What causes a successful entrepreneur to let go of a business that took 15 years to build? How can someone transition from running an established company to succeeding on a completely different career path?
This episode of The Prosper Project presents a unique story about changing one’s career path and features a special guest, Crosby Noricks. Crosby is the founder of PR Couture, the industry-leading career development platform for PR professionals. Crosby’s vision and expertise have led her to educate, mentor, and inspire industry professionals for nearly 20 years, and her company was recently acquired by Jeneration PR after 15 years in the online education space.
With the recent sale of her company came a professional departure–or, as we say nowadays, a pivot. Crosby is now developing a new body of work as a somatically-trained personal leadership coach, helping women in and around life’s midpoint to reimagine and reconfigure their lives and contributions for greater inner and outer congruence. Crosby is a certified Empty Out practitioner and Body Breath Method guide. She has completed an integrative somatic parts work certificate and has received training in the UZAZU method of emotional intelligence.
Crosby discusses her thought process involving her transition from PR Couture to the development of a new business that focuses on movement and helping women. She shares how she discovered her higher calling and talks about the people she serves in her new line of work. She also shares her take on what being prosperous really means and reveals the truths she has discovered since she began building her new business.
