What are the things you value most in your life? Did they require sacrifice? Can you highly value something that takes no level of sacrifice? What about your faith?
Sacrifice is a word that can scare a lot of us. Jesus calls us to follow Him, and tells us it will require sacrifice. Why do you think sacrifice is part of His plan? In this episode, Jeremy and Emily talk about what sacrifice entails, and why it is a good thing.
Listen in as Emily and Jeremy discuss discipleship principle #3: Obey Him. Have you ever wondered why God requires obedience? Do you often find it hard to understand and walk out some of his commands? In this episode, we will discuss the importance of obeying God. We will dissect different types of obedience, the pitfalls around walking this out, and why obedience is paramount to being an effective disciple who makes disciples.
In this episode Emily and Jeremy discuss principle #2 of Discipleship: Know Him. We often equate knowing God to how well we know the Bible. While this is certainly important in our Christian walk it is only part of knowing Him. Listen in as we discuss what it really means to know God.
Accepting Jesus comes with more than just knowing and recognizing who God is. In this podcast on the first principle of discipleship, Emily and Jeremy talk about what it truly means to accept Jesus into your life. They share why it is more than knowledge of who He is and why we should be willing to take that first step.
Is the word discipleship intimidating to you? Have you considered it but felt unqualified? Do you think you have to be perfect to disciple others?
Our culture tends to make discipleship feel out of reach. We think it's for only those who have their walk with the Lord down perfect. In this intro to discipleship, Jeremy and Emily talk about why discipleship is for everyone. They break it down to the simplest form and give a solid definition.
Have you been able to hear the Holy Spirit speaking to you? If not, have you heard Him before? Is something different now?
Many of us have experienced the Holy Spirit at one time or another. We've heard Him speaking to us, but other times we don't. In this podcast Jeremy and Emily share about some reasons why we may not be hearing Him speak. They also share about the greatest benefit of knowing the Holy Spirit as well as how to hear his calling for YOU!
In part 2 of the podcast on the Holy Spirit, Emily and Jeremy talk through questions surrounding the Holy Spirit. Why do we study Him? Why our theological differences or opinions over the Holy Spirit shouldn't divide us. Why do you need to be willing to be lead versus always in control?
We are given the Holy Spirit to empower our Christian lives. However, we live in a day and age when it seems very few Christians are living with much power. Why is this? Is the Holy Spirit just not working as he did in the past?
In today's podcast, we discuss some of the barriers we have built that hinder our ability to walk with the Holy Spirit fully. Listen in to see if you have created any of these barriers and if so how to remove them.
What makes up your being? Is it just your body? Do you have a spirit? A soul? If we have all three how do they interact?
God designed us with three parts: Spirit, Soul, and Body. Each has influence on ourselves and the world around us. Listen in today as we talk about each part's importance. We share on how the spirit and body can influence the soul, which in turn influences how we act.
What does the Cross really mean for you? Are we all born "sinners"? What does it mean to be dead to sin?
These are all difficult questions but don't worry, you are not alone in asking them. Today Emily and Jeremy talk about the Cross. They discuss the root of our sin and the solution the cross provides. Learn why the Cross is such great news and the freedom that we have because of it!
