Grief is very complex. It is not just about the loss of someone in death but also grieving the loss of those in our lives that may have changed, shifted, or for whatever reason left. Maybe they disappointed you and there was no way back to recover the relationship. Whatever the reason your hurt is real, and healing takes time. With all stages of grief it is important that we all take care of ourselves and get counseling if we become overwhelmed. These are the times to rise up and be who you are meant to be. My person I lost in my life as you will hear is my dad and I know he is smiling down watching me rise from some of the hardest times in this roller coaster called life. That makes my heart smile. Join me in this very candid and raw conversation.
In this episode I sit down with both my girls. Discussions with both are very different and so fun. We have been blessed with our girls, and we want them to dream big and persevere even through hard times. Maybe it was the military life that made me want to be so honest and upfront with both of them from an early age, or maybe I just wished I had that frankness growing up. Regardless, it has been great for us, and I feel like my relationships with my girls will forever be special and priceless. Enjoy getting to know these beautiful humans.
After an almost 20 year stint in the military, I found making lasting friendships difficult as I would not allow myself to open up, knowing that distance and time would stand in the way. At 40 years old, I met my sister from another mister, finally letting my guard down and connecting on the next level. Growing up with parallel paths in life, we now are business partners and besties, never allowing ourselves to hit a ceiling. This is our story.
This episode is pretty tough, but it is one discussion that is needed. Mental health is a huge issue in our society today more than ever. Statistics this year says 1 out of 3 Americans suffer from depression. It is my heart to share my own experiences in hopes of helping others. I hope to help someone out there in the mist of that dark place and let them know they are not alone. There is light at the end of that tunnel. Keep going, reach out for help, and know you are loved. So here it is... me Owning it.

In my first Episode, I sit down with my husband of 23 years and reflect on our journey from
Jr. High to marriage, through the military and business. We explore dreams, goals and challenges along with the ups and downs with mixing business with marriage. This episode is for the dreamers, and the goal setters. It's for those that need a real look at real life when things work out and when things don't. Learning the importance of communication and forgiveness. Let's Own this!
