The boys hockey team has some great senior leadership and I had the opportunity to chat with Jared Carpenter, Peyton Smetana, and Parker Sell, the three senior captains of the squad about the season so far. They've had a few admittedly tough losses but these guys are leading the team by keeping a positive attitude and being patient through the adversity. They're great leaders and great guys.
We're getting into the hockey season now and the Dragon Girls have a couple of wins under their belts. I had the chance to chat with captains Jordan Millam, Emma Kirby, and alternate captain, Arissa Rydberg about the success that they have had and to hear what it's like being a part of the new co-op between Mora, Rush City, and Pine City.
The Dragon Boys Hockey team is coming back after a spectacular season last year with big hopes for the season. Coaches Seth Sauter and Jacob Sauter sat down with Justin and talked about the team, the upcoming season, and how the team is dealing with the difficulties of COVID. The Dragons face Cambridge/Isanti on Saturday and the game will be live streamed on WCMP for fans looking to catch the action.
The 2020-2021 hockey season is the first year of the Pine City, Mora, and Rush City Girls Hockey team and in this episode Paul Kirby, one of the team's assistant coaches sits down with Justin to talk about what it took to get to this point and the excitement that everyone is feeling about the beginning of the season. Certainly, COVID has transformed what that inaugural season will look like, but the team is focused on the positives and the community is excited to see these girls take the step to the varsity hockey level.
