Welcome to our weekly podcast here at Dream Cast Project. Every week, we focus on a different topic related to our mission of supporting everyone to live a life of abundance, rediscover their passion and purpose, and understand how the life that you have been dreaming of is possible - regardless of your starting point.

This week's topic is why wealth is important.

I want to start with a provocative question today, and that is - did you know it will take 288 years to close the wealth gap between black and white families if nothing changes?

Yes, 288 years; as Dr. Geord Fraser says, โ€œThere is a lot we need to fix as people of color, the global majority - because no one else will fix it for us.โ€

Yes, generational wealth is important, but it is something that takes time to fix; we have to start now by starting to fix our mindset; we need to instill a generational wealth mindset, get rid of the โ€œliving for Friday nightโ€ mindset, to break the cycle of poverty.

This is why we are so passionate about supporting thought leadership through our Dream Cast Project work. Work that Dr George Fraser has dedicated his life to.

Iโ€™m excited to introduceโ€ฆ Dr George Fraser is one of my favorite speakers addressing the wealth gap. Enjoy.Source: Wealth is important

**Welcome to our weekly podcast here at Dream Cast Project.

Every week we focus on a different topic related to our mission of helping everyone live a life of abundance, rediscover your passion and purpose, and understand how the life that you have been dreaming of is possible - regardless of your starting point.**

Our topic this week is Wealth and Iโ€™m excited to introduce Melinda hightower. A tax lawyer and financial analyst by trade, Melinda Hightower now runs a division of UBS focusing on Multicultural Investments. Melinda talks about a recent report on the wealth of black women and shares with us the importance of financial literacy as well as some key ideas for building generational wealth amongst the global majority.

**An area Iโ€™ve personally enjoyed learning more about is investing and trading. Iโ€™ve always been a strong advocate of women managing their own money and love that Iโ€™m now able to actively make my money grow through what's previously been the secret of a few rich white males - the stock market.

Join me as we learn more from Melinda hightower.**

Hey there, yes you, are you happy?

You need to stop what youโ€™re doing and listen to this message from Stacey Flowers.

Youโ€™ve heard the saying that goes: You are the average of the 5 people you choose to associate with the most, right? Who are those 5 people in your life right now? Your partner, your work colleagues, your children, your friends, a sibling or parent?

Have you identified your 5? Think for a minute about these people. Do they bring you happiness? Do they energize you and encourage you to be your best?

As Stacey says: โ€˜Relationships have the deepest richest impact on our level of happiness. More than any other factor combined.โ€™

This is so true when I get philosophical and think about the purpose of life. At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is growth in 3 key areas: your relationships, your learning (gaining knowledge) and your experiences. Do you work on fostering the important relationships in your life? Are you continuing to gain knowledge in an area thatโ€™s important to you? When last have you had a new experience that pushed you outside your comfort zone or showed you a different way of thinking?

Stacey Flowers is a phenomenal inspirational woman who chooses every day to live the life of her dreams rather than conform to the box prescribed to her by others. Stacey has identified 5 key people who you need in your life in order to connect and catch happiness.

If you feel ike you are missing out on lifeโ€™s greatest moments. Take Staceyโ€™s advice to unleash your innate talent, to positively influence this world.

Hereโ€™s Stacey Flowers.

I wish I could play a piano like Jade Simmons.
For years I tried to find my passion and my purpose.
I wasnโ€™t very good at sports, I was just an average student, I wasnโ€™t in the in-crowd, so was not at all cool or entertaining. My hair was too curly, I, was always a little overweight and spoke with a very weird accent.
When I finally learnt to love and embrace that little girl who so desperately wanted to fit in, I realized what Jade Simmons talks about next - that your purpose is that thing that happens in other people when you do what you do.
And often times you donโ€™t even know that youโ€™re doing it.
Jade says itโ€™s scary to believe that the big thing in your heart, the big vision, is actually something you were designed to have and that people were designed to want and need.
Jade Simmons trained as a classical concert pianist. But she realized her purpose when she stopped trying to be like every other classical pianist before her and made one tiny change that transformed her career - she was brave enough to be authentic.
So hereโ€™s a reminder that you are amazing and that you are designed to do that thing in your heart and make a difference in the world.

Hereโ€™s is Jade Simmons, classical musics #1 maverick.

Today, our featured speaker is Scott Mescudi, aka Kid Cudi, the artist and rapper.

He was asked to give his high school talk about growing up and his career path in the music industry.

What you can learn from just listening to someone's story is amazing.

I love how Scott re-tells his story; it is so real and honest. There are so many parts of it that I can identify with, and I'm sure you have parts that you will identify with too.

Scott a young man of 31 at the time of this talk, gives a ton of life advice. Advice about showing up for the opportunities that present themselves in your life. About how Focus is key and hanging around people who inspire you.
About embracing fear and finding your confidence, and how important it is to attack one goal at a time.

He talks about how life will throw you a ton of curve balls, but if you believe, want it bad enough, and are willing to work for it, you can make your dream come true.

Scott Mescudi is coming up.

On today's show, we have one of my heroes and all-time great motivational speaker. Les Brown, today, Les is sharing his advice on how it's possible, how working on your dreams is worth it and necessary, and how someone's opinion of you does not have to become your reality.

This audio was recorded at the George Dome in front of 35,000 plus people. It's one of the great motivational speeches. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do every time I listen to it.

Today's topic of discussion is normalizing natural beautiful curly hair.

For decades, having curly hair has been seen as a curse for anyone born with anything other than straight European-looking hair.

People with curly hair have been limited in opportunity, marginalized, threatened, persecuted, and even demonized.

Even Michelle Obama made a conscious decision not to wear her hair in its natural state during her eight years as the First Lady. She intentionally chose to wear her hair straights because, in her words, "Americans were not ready for natural black hair in the White House."ย

In this podcast, we discuss some uncomfortable truths, ask some uncomfortable questions to our people of color, and continue creating awareness of normalizing natural curly hair.

We follow in the path blazed by people like Trevor Noah, Colin Kaepernick, Everett Taylor, and even America's first black First Lady, Michelle Obama.

The eight laws of learning are explanation, demonstration, imitation, repetition, repetition, repetition, repetition, repetition. - John Wooden

Today we discuss how repetition is what leads people to their greatness.

10000 hours:

Malcolm Gladwell wrote that it takes 10,000 hours to become an expert in anything.ย

We broke it down into meaningful chunks i.e.ย
5 hr a day x 365 days x 5 years = 9125 hours.

This means that you can change your career multiple times in your lifetime. Is that not awesome to know?

Every week we do a podcast on a topic to inspire. This week is about not just standing by and being quiet so that you don't stir the pot.

It's an everyday occurrence and everybody has examples of when someone just stood by quietly so that they didn't stir the pot.

This one covers.

  • Glorifying the Queen ๐Ÿ‘‘
  • Anti-Racism
  • Not voting

Therapy comes in different forms and I always found daily journaling or podcasting great forms of therapy.ย

Today we have a topic that has been front of mind for us for a couple of weeks. It's been in the media, quite a lot. The topic of quiet quitting, what is quiet quitting. Quiet quitting is a new term for something that's been happening for a long. It use to be called employee disengagement, where employees become disengaged with their organization and start doing less than they used to before.

It's just a new term given to it. It's now called quiet quitting. The term itself has blown up after a TikToked posted a video that went viral.

โ€œI recently learned about this term called quiet quitting, where you're not outright quitting your job, but you're quitting the idea of going above and beyond. You're still performing your duties, but you're no longer subscribing to the hustle culture mentality.โ€

Essentially, what he is saying is that you're NOT defined by your job title.

Your worth is NOT defined by your productive output at work. Your self-worth is NOT defined by your job title.

This is where we're getting to, especially after the past three years of constant struggle, emotional and physical for a lot of people more and more people are realizing now that their worth is not defined by their job.

Five years ago where we realized that we were putting in or giving almost a hundred percent of ourselves to our job, to our employers. We were working ourselves to death often in jobs that we didn't really like and missing out and spending time with our young family

  • Creating the future, today.
  • Traveling as a brown family
