The Coop, with me Helena Fremantle, where I will go off on many tangents with my friends about all kinds of topics. Some days it will be me just rambling about Billie Eilish and other days you could be in for a chaotic story, regardless, I hope you enjoy.
maybe the end of 'The Coop'.
(I never planned on ending 'The Coop', but there's been a lot of change over April and with that I felt that the podcast should change with it. I'll be back soon, just not on here...)
conclusions from my first rave.
(some sweet, silly nights where I've found myself mulling.)
part two.
(everything from diagnosis-present. a lot to unpack, ft. the dream that changed it all.)
hmmmm.
(in order to give you an update on how I've been post-relapse of anorexia, you needed to have the context. so here's what that is.)
...
(it's been a recent revelation of mine how important silence is. if you respect silence, you build trust. if you build trust, you have the foundations of a good relationship. like I said....I've been thinking about the importance of silence.)
completely and utterly.
(so things haven't been great recently. things might have taken a turn for the worse. and I guess this is me just sharing it with you.)
two words, one woman: billie eilish
(a look into the driving factors of my parasocial relationship- a look into how celebrities can become a lifeline. I'm glad to say that the obsession has died down. it's been a long time coming.)
dark.
(I find death completely and utterly terrifying and so, this episode gets a little dark. I'm well aware I need to go back to therapy, thank you x)
I like this episode.
(wicked game by chris isaak is the ONLY song I've been listening to recently. it fits very well with this episode where I unpack my experiences with both 'practical' and 'emotional' rejection. somewhere in the middle of this episode it gets a bit deep lol so erm...enjoy?)
reflecting and reminiscing.
(a look back on the most pivotal year of my life so far. lessons were learnt and discoveries were made, I encourage you all to have a cheeky scroll through your mems!)
honest.
(a couple of weeks that had me facing some truths- perhaps I wasn't doing as well as I thought. perhaps, I was relapsing slightly in terms of anorexia and depression.)
deadly serious.
(life update part.3- adulthood took a turn. grab a blanket, get some hot chocolate and settle down for a week of disastrous events.)
-life lessons with ros.
(Ros created this saying as some sort of juxtaposition to 'live, laugh, love' and although it never gets mentioned in this episode, I think it sums up what we discuss rather well. Today, we're deep-diving into quotes/life lessons that we think everyone should hear. Get yourself involved xox)
it's life.
(a painful realisation that this isn't just 'one year out', it's the rest of my life. my actual life update for you all.)
This idea for a podcast episode first came into fruition when I went to watch my old dance school's show in July, an evening which for the past three years I'd expected to bring me closure but in actual fact had brought it about in a much more unexpected way to what I had envisioned. It's a concept that's also resurfaced in my life in the past week or two, which is why I've felt the need to blurt out all my thoughts. I hope you guys can relate in some way.
Today I'm talking all about my first month of my gap year, a year which has most definitely not gone to plan so far. I discuss what it's been like seeing everyone leave for uni and share where my head's been for the past couple of weeks....leading to what's become a rather depressing podcast episode. At least I can say it's honest!!
Today I'm joined by Ella to dive into her 'album' based on the past two years of her life: DREAM GIRL. She talks about her growth over the past two years and how that's prepared her for the next chapter she will begin at uni- becoming the 'dream girl'. The cover art is the imagined art of the album, designed by Ella herself. Enjoy guys!!
Guys, it's time to meet Tyler!! Tyler has become one of my closest friends this year and he's impacted my life in ways I hadn't even realised I needed. I'm very glad he wanted to be on the podcast, and I hope you all enjoy this rainy chat from the grass in Cleveland Park as we dive into what he's been up to this summer.
As promised, here's the second half of the interrail podcast diaries. In this episode, me, Kaitlin and Marina digest our time together in Paris as well as concluding upon our favourite moments from travelling together. Listening back to this one made me smile so much, if you haven't already, make sure to listen to part one where we discuss our time in Prague and Munich!
I'm back from interrail now and missing it already. This episode follows the journey of me travelling around Europe with my two best friends, Marina and Kaitlin, both of whom have been on the podcast before (make sure to listen to their episodes- The Coop (Marina's Version) and Deep Dive into Our Lives). This is part one of our interrail podcast diaries so make sure to look out for part two, all about Paris, coming soon!
this is a story I've been meaning to tell the podcast for a while, it's a little chaotic and full of giggles, true Helena style if you couldn't tell already!! Have a fantastic time listening guys :')
Welcomeeee to this episode of me interviewing Keye in an effort to get to know him better and hear about his plans for the future. I had a great time listening to his memories and stories and I hope you do too!!

Guys....I took an unplanned break from the podcast whilst exams were going on, but I am back!! This episode is a very chilled one with me giving you all little life updates because a LOT has happened this month, not only in terms of things ending but also in terms of new things starting too. This is deffo a background noise episode so chuck it on and we can get ready together hehe, enjoy!
As you can tell from the title, this week's episode of The Coop is another episode of If Our Lives Were Album and today I'm joined by Joseph to explore his 'album' Rising Up. We discuss the memories that music has created for him and his family and how it's become a unifying source for his family to bond over. I hope you all enjoy our conversation!
Hey guys, in this episode I give a little life update before diving into my experiences with sleep paralysis and dreams becoming very blurred with reality for me. I question how we can separate real life from our dreams if both states of being feel so vivid and tangible. I hope you don't get too lost with me on this one!!
In this episode, as you can tell from the title, I digest all my thoughts around identity and how I've learnt to accept that identity can't be one thing but is an accumulation of multiple aspects of who you are. I talk about my experiences with having identity crises and how recovery has affected my sense of self. This episode has been a long time coming but I feel like it's the perfect collection of all the thought processes I've had on identity. Enjoy!!
TRIGGER WARNING: Discussion of anorexia nervosa
The things I never shared...
I will forever be grateful to sit here a year on, happy to be here and happy to get my life back. Thank you to my parents, my brother and sister, amanda and my core group of friends, I love you all endlessly. I literally wouldn't be here without you. To anyone struggling, trust me when I say recovery is worth it in the end.
Hey guys, welcome to the second episode in my mini-series 'an exploration of', as you can tell from the title, this episode is centred around the concept of living. I explore the so-called purpose of life and if there is such thing as a meaning to everyone's lives, I also discuss the definition of 'living' and if there even is a set definition of what it means to live. This episode captures a thought process that has become very prominent to me recently, enjoy!
Hi guys, welcome to a new mini-series on The Coop where I'll be exploring new topics in each episode that I've dedicated a lot of time to thinking and analysing about over the years. Today's episode is focused around popularity and how I've come to the conclusion that it's nothing but a psychological act based on someone else's insecurity. In no ways is this targeted at anyone, it's very much a generalised thought I've had! Enjoy :)
Hey guys, in this episode I'm joined by my good friend Kaitlin, who I met back in 2019 through dance. We discuss how we both found out about each others eating disorders and how we've been navigating our way through recovery, something that has been no easy thing for either of us. In light of recent Cambridge and Oxford rejections we discuss the topic of academic validation and how despite it sounding cliche, everything happens for a reason. I hope you all enjoy our conversation!
Hi guys, welcome to this episode of The Coop's new series 'If Our Lives Were Albums'. Today I am joined by one of my closest friends, Robyn, to discuss her curated album entitled 'No Rain No Flowers'. This is an album based on the past two and probably most formative years of her life, that has seen her move out of home, leave school and full-time education as well as becoming financially independent, it's safe to say Robyn has had to grow up a lot more quickly than the average seventeen-year-old. I hope you all enjoy this conversation as much as I did!
Hey guys, welcome to another part of 'If Our Lives Were Albums', today I'm joined by Bo to discuss her album 'a new age'. It's based off the past three months of her life and explores what it means to be seventeen as well as gaining experiences that she's found has coincided with growing up. We go from talking about childhood memories and waiting for change to happen to then concluding on how we're ready for 'the new age'. I hope you all enjoy this episode as much as I did!
Hey guys, welcome back to another episode of the Coop's 'If Our Lives Were Albums'. Today I'm joined by Marina to talk about her album 'loneliness found, never kept', we digest each of the eight tracks she curated as well as the songs and thoughts which have inspired them. This album is based on Marina's self-discovery over the past three years, probably some of the most formative years of our teens, I hope you all enjoy this conversation as much as I did!
Hi guys, welcome back to a slightly different episode of The Coop. Today I'm introducing you to my new series, 'If Our Lives Were Albums' in which my guest will curate an album based on a specific time of their life or as an album of their whole life so far. They will name 6-15 tracks and explain the story and thoughts behind each one, revealing songs which have inspired their titles, as well as the cover art of their album.
To kick us off with the series, I'm joined by Athena Fremantle (my twin sister) where she discusses the inspiration behind her so-called album 'At Its Peak'. We go through all of her eight tracks digesting the influence and reasoning behind each one.
Regular episodes of The Coop will continue if I'm not recording one for If Our Lives Were Albums. I hope you all enjoy this new series!!
Hey guys, in this episode have a slightly new energy going on, I like to call it floor energy! I always find that conversations I have on the floor, whether it be with my own thoughts or with others, always hit different, so today I thought I'd invite you to one of my floor chats hehe. This episode is a little update on how I've been lately as well as briefly discussing updates in music such as Ashe's and Taylor Swift's new albums. I hope you enjoy joining me on the floor for this episode!!
Hi guys, I'm joined once again by my sister, Athena, as we talk about and digest the Machine Gun Kelly concert we went to on October the 1st. We let you in on the events that happened around us as we were standing in the pit surrounded by fellow MGK fans. This episode is full of stories and strange encounters, enjoy!
Hi guys, welcome to another episode of The Coop, today I have a new guest, Marina, with me who's one of my closest friends. We talk about how we met and explain our own experiences and journeys with dance before fangirling over Taylor Swift after she'd just announced her new album 'Midnights' which is coming out on October the 21st. I had a lot of fun recording this episode, I hope you guys all enjoy it!
Hi guys, in this episode of The Coop I'm joined by a new guest, Maicie, where we talk about our experiences with anorexia and how at times when we don't feel heard or we feel reduced to being seen as irrational we've found a way to give our voice a platform by recording voice notes on our phones of us putting forward what we want to say. I also want to clarify that this mechanism can be used in any situation where you feel like you haven't been heard as it's a great way to methodically structure what you want to say without being caught in the heat of a moment. I hope you all enjoy listening :)
Hi guys, welcome back to another episode of The Coop, today I am joined once again by Bo as we share our experience of getting piercings together as well as diving into a crazy story from when we went to the Phoebe Bridgers concert in July! We also share some life updates we've had in the past couple of months and explore new music we're into at the moment. This one is full of laughs and fun energy, enjoy!!
Hey guys, welcome back to the final episode of my series on lessons I've learnt whilst recovering from anorexia, as you can tell by today's title, this lesson is based on positivity and how you can try to prevent yourself from being hyperfocused on the negatives in your day and instead look at things with a more optimistic mindset. I talk about starting daily affirmations as a good way to appreciate the small wins found on a regular basis as well as defining the difference between accepting reality as opposed to just having a pessimistic attitude towards something. I hope you have been able to relate to this series or have been opened to new perspectives since listening, enjoy!!
Hey guys, this is the fourth episode in the five part series I'm doing on lessons I've learnt in recovery, as you can tell from the title, this episode is all about temporariness which links back to last episode's thoughts on putting life into perspective. I talk about how the impermanence of life can make us gain a wider appreciation for living as we learn to value things in our lives a lot more. I hope you enjoy :)
Hey guys, this is the third episode in the five part series based on lessons I've learnt in recovery and today's episode is all about acceptance. I talk about how living in the present goes hand in hand with accepting the reality around you and how in order to accept acceptance and understand reality, you have to put life in perspective. I hope you enjoy this episode and learn that in order to be present you have to refrain from living in denial, if you haven't already make sure to listen to the other episodes in this series!
Hey guys, this is the second episode of the five part series I'm doing on lessons I've learnt in recovery and as you can tell by the title it's all about learning how to live in the present and differentiate between being and actually living. It's only in the past couple of weeks where I've really felt as if I've lived so I've share some tips on what got me to those points and how to filter moments of living into everyday life. I hope through this episode you guys will learn to consciously embrace and appreciate the present, enjoy!!
Hey guys, this episode is very important to me, I dive right into my fear of growing up and how I've learnt to deal with it now I've been opened to new perspectives whilst being in recovery. This is the first episode of a five part series I'm doing on really valuable lessons I've learnt in the past four months, I hope you all enjoy!
Hey guys, this episode is a bit of a catch up on where I've been and what's ben happening in the past three weeks. I was going to do an episode about my fear of growing up but then I realised I just had too much to talk about- as always! So stay tuned for that episode coming next, I hope you all enjoy this 'nothing episode'.
Hi guys, in this episode I talk ALL about what song would save me from Vecna's curse (watch Stranger Things 4 to figure out what I'm talking about hehe). I do a deep dive analysis of which songs couldn't be the ones to save me, concluding with the one that would. There's a huge thought process in this one, so I hope you're able to follow along and discover which song would save you too haha. Thank you to everyone who reached out after last week's episode, I really appreciate all of you, enjoyyyy :)
Alsoooo, it turns out that the link to invite people to collaborate on a Spotify playlist only lasts 24 hours SO I'll resend the link by putting it up on Instagram on the 15th June, 17th June, 20th June and 23rd June, please add the songs that would save YOU from Vecna, I feel like it would be really cute hehe.
First off, I am so sorry about the audio in this episode, you'll definitely want to listen without headphones, I got very nervous and was playing with the microphone throughout the whole thing which is why the background noise is so bad haha! This is obviously the first episode back since I announced I was going on a break, so this episode is really a little focus on where I've been for the past couple of months as well as catching up on life since the last episode back in March. If anyone needs someone to talk to or any advice at all, please feel free to send me a message or talk to me in person and if you're someone who's struggling with something please ask for help, it's literally the best thing you could ever do. Thank you to those people who I told right at the beginning of everything, there were only four of you (you know who you are), I couldn't be more thankful for your continued support and the sense of normality you've brought to the most turbulent period in my life. I hope you all enjoy this episode- if you can try to block out the bad audio hehe.
In this episode, I have two new guests, Kerris and Erin and we dive into our common obsessions with Billie Eilish and Harry Styles. We explore how we first got into their music as well as discussing our favourite books and songs right now. We even do a live review of Billie Eilish's new perfume (for any of you who want to know what she smells like hehe) which has launched in the UK at Harrods. I hope you guys enjoy our conversations and thank you to Erin and Kerris for joining me on this week's podcast :)
In this episode, I fulfil my Emma Chamberlain lifestyle by filming my second ever podcast episode by myself. I loved every part of filming this and after getting back into Emma's podcast 'Anything Goes' (make sure to give it a listen) I've become so inspired to get into podcasting on my own. The topic of today's episode sounds boring: my transport stories, however with various tangents and crazy experiences of mine, I'm sure you'll all enjoy it. Also, make sure to check out our Instagram @thecoop_podcast if you're interested in our merch!!
Hey guys, welcome back to another episode, today we will be taking you with us to IKEA! We learn that IKEA isn't quite how we remembered it as kids and we see why our parents were always so unwilling to go. Pretty quickly you will see how short my attention span is hehe enjoy our experience :)
In this episode, I have two new guests Tess and Amy. We dive into our favourite books, tv series and current songs as well as discussing several other topics such as how we first met. Enjoy the endless laughs and confusion!
In this episode, I am once again joined by Thene where we will talk about how our week has been before drifting into different topics such as rekindling childhood hobbies/games as well as discussing recent updates on the celebrities we admire.
For the recipe to Emma Chamberlain's pea soup click this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xl1iR47dzes&t=447s enjoy!
Happy New Year everyone!! Here's the first episode of 2022 and I'm with a very nostalgic guest who has featured on this podcast much to their reluctance in the past haha. We talk about our favourite presents from Christmas which leads to a spontaneous album review and any resolutions we have for this year. I hope you all enjoy our 2022 recap.
In this episode we have two very unexpected guests: Zach Harris and Alex Mclean. It's been an episode that has taken weeks to organise but we finally got around to recording it and now you guys are free to listen. Enjoy the chaos, enjoy the quick remarks and enjoy the humour, who knows maybe there'll be another episode with these fools in the future...
(The second part of the episode with Bo). To be honest this is just the epitome of what the podcast is all about: a cheeky classroom convo. The main aim of our conversation eventually leads into many other chats and discoveries/untold stories. Of course we'll give you a short Billie update that I know you guys all look forward to every episode tehe. If you have any questions that you want me to answer then make sure to send them in on the option available in the previous episode and don't forget to vote on this episode's poll.
Welcome to another episode of The Coop and in this episode we have a new special guest, Bo! We start off by talking about Taylor Swift's album Red [Taylor's version] as well as going off on many different tangents along the way. Who knows which part of this episode you'll actually remember! We split this recording into two separate episodes so you don't have to sit through an hour and forty five minutes of just our chaotic energy hehe, enjoy :)
IT'S THE PODCAST'S ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!! And who better to spend it with than the two who started it all: Ollie and Ella. It was around the time that we were filming this (26th October) last year that we first came up with the idea together in a drama lesson and twenty-two episodes later here we are. In this episode we of course talk about the formation of the podcast as well as reminisce about our drama days, it's a very chaotic but also iconic episode, enjoy.
In this episode, we have another special guest, Ada! We talk about the approach of Halloween and how we became friends as well as our life at sixth form so far. Also make sure to listen to FINNEAS' new album 'Optimist' whilst you're at it.
We have Lucy back with us this week to have a quick catch up and discuss the ending of sex education, season three! Throughout the episode there are many interruptions, resulting in a spontaneous mukbang. A suggestion, when it gets to around 37:55 turn your volume down, for the own protection of your ears.
In this episode, Amy is back again to talk about our experience at the Ashe concert and album signing. We had the most incredible time and talk about how the day went, as well as adding snippets from the show! We love Ashe so much, also Leroy (peng ting) and strongly advice that you listen to her music hehe. Hope you enjoy :)
This is the third part to the conversation I had with Amy and this episode is full of lots of story times and rambles! We have a main story to tell but of course we get side-tracked along the way.
Welcome to part two of the podcast with Amy as our guest! In this episode we will talk about our "enthusiastic" obsessions with the one and only, Billie Eilish and Harry Styles and how they influenced our friendship.
This episode, we have a new special guest, Amy! The audio might be a little bit uneven due to the fact Amy had her mic the wrong way round. Who would have guessed? We dive into our friendship journey, wholesome vibes.
A part three with Lucy, this episode is us talking about general life and promising to tell a lot of stories that we may or may not have forgotten to talk about!!
I thought I'd surprise you all with this episode! This past week has been kind of crazy and I felt like I just had to give you a life update. I know it's a very long one but half of it is explaining my week and you guessed it, the other half is me talking about Billie's new album Happier Than Ever, which you should definitely listen to now. This is just me a microphone and being honest. Enjoy!
In this episode we again have our special guest Lucy, this is just exactly what the podcast is about, a good old ramble.
In this episode, I finally have a guest in the house. Lucy Henson everybody. This episode is all about Billie Eilish getting cancelled, part two with her is coming out soon.
This is a very loquacious episode, from the latest Billie Eilish updates to dealing with our joint birthday, there are a range of conversations to listen to!
In this podcast episode, we will talk about all the different physical problems we have experienced in our lives. From breaking a collarbone to hyperhidrosis, it's safe to say we've encountered a lot!
In this episode Helena and Athena talk about what has happened in the past month, from the 2021 Grammy Awards to the time they got food poisoning.
Welcome to our musical episode. It is truly a phenomenon and once again this is full of very random conversations, enjoy!
With Valentine's Day and Pancake Day coming up, we reminisce about any of our traditions and past experiences over the years as well as telling you all about online school during lockdown!
In this episode we will explore our connection as twins and see if we can indeed read each others thoughts!
I'm so sorry for this abominable episode, we couldn't entertain you for every single one! Make sure to follow us on instagram @thecoop_podcast to contribute to our conversations. Disclaimer: the audio is pretty terrible.
Helena and Athena start off with Christmas but soon get very sidetracked onto multiple other conversations.
Make sure to listen to my Spotify playlist 'Bangers on the Barbie.' In this episode we will talk about our music tastes along with some other random conversations! We hope you enjoy :)
The first episode of The Coop, where we talk about Hen's strange addiction and her celebrating her scolliversary!
