The Wolverine State! The boys are back together recording episode 33 and 34. In this episode, Gary details his trip around the great state of Michigan stopping at MANY wineries and few distilleries, including Mammoth, New Holland, Fox and Oden and Coppercraft. Here it is! Highlights from our first annual whiskey tasting event! Great laughs, amazing company and the best whiskey we could ask for. We go through the list of whiskeys we sampled and then provide actually audio from the evening in question. The cops were NOT called, so it was a win win for everyone involved, except Steve, who was a lil bit tipsy by the end of the evening. Lucky 13 is coming at your hard and heavy! We are back after a week off, I was in Trinidad for a week enjoying friends, family and trying to find Pappy. No such luck! In Searching for Pappy I did find Hooten Young 15yr Barrel Proof, amazing stuff! Trinidad only had Woodford and Bulleit, but they love their Johnnie Walker, more on him later in the pod. Makers Mark Wood Finishing Series 2022 edition was also a nice score this week. Steve had his kids do his booze searching, finding a Lincoln Straight Bourbon Cask Strength, for 50 bucks, hard to pass up this bottle!

A perfect 10! Well, ok, it is just episode ten. In Searching for Pappy this week leads us to a 14yr old Bull Run Whiskey finished in pinot noir caks, yummy! Also, did you know Bob Dylan makes bourbon? Well, Steve purchased Heaven's Door Decade Series and it was amazing! Yes, Bob Dylan owns this whiskey, crazy! Also, Buffalo Trace Antique collection has been released for 2022, good luck finding a bottle for MSRP, if you do send us a bottle to try, please? High West just released a new blended rye finished in wine casks, called High West Prisoner Share bottled at 102 proof, again, good luck trying to find a bottle. This is the first release of this product, not sure if it will be a annual thing.
The Whiskey Stand is a battle of Bottled in Bond bottles from Heaven Hill. Henry Mckenna 10yr vs Heaven Hill BiB 7yr duke it out this week. Both are solid BiB pours but which one will win the Standoff? Do I hear a split decision, give us a listen for the full results.
