The Belgian Grand Prix left all fans surprised at Red Bull's pace advantage over the competition, with Max Verstappen leading the fourth Red Bull 1-2 of the season despite starting from P14 following grid penalties. Mercedes and especially Ferrari were left clueless, both very far from Verstappen's pace also going into the Dutch Grand Prix. Meanwhile in the midfield Alpine asserted their pace once more with 16 points on the board: McLaren now is 20 points away and will be hoping for a positive outcome of the CRB's investigation on the "Piastri situation". Formula 1's V6's are back in action after a long summer break: we will have big changes this weekend starting from the new ERS systems which will have to be homologated before the 1st of September; furthermore the Technical Directive 039, regarding bouncing and flexing floors, will come into play. Mercedes expect to be back into full contention for the win at Spa-Francorchamps, and a few penalties in front of them may help them in the pursuit of their first success in 2022. The Alpine-McLaren battle got very heated off-track during the summer break but now the track and the cars will do the talking: will they be at the front of the midfield or will other teams catch up?
