For the upcoming IDR Talk series, we will focus on all things Mediation, with our accredited Mediator, Richard Thomas, at the helm.
In each episode, Richard will be joined by a new guest to discuss a variety of topics related to Mediation.

In this episode of IDRTalk Cara Hough, Partner met with Jackie Cleveland, Founder of Podplan to discuss Elder Care, how it affects businesses, impacts employees and what effective strategies can we implement to support.
Launched in January 2021, Podplan is a one-stop-shop for information and advice. Becoming a Podplan member offers an alternative to hours of independent research and reduces the stress of simply not knowing what to do. In addition to access to a private website, members can join live Q&A sessions, watch explainer videos, qualify for product and service discounts, and receive weekly email updates.
In this podcast, Eleanor spoke to June Potts, director or Menopause 360 who is an absolute delight and complete powerhouse in her sector. She supports and trains businesses to keep women going through any stage of the menopause in work. She also advocates nationally for both clinical and pastoral support for women.
Businesses lose thousands of talented and capable women from the workforce each year because of complicated or misunderstood symptoms including the significant impact on confidence and mental health that the menopause can have. This not only impacts the bottom line, but also the women entering the workforce who lose their role models and mentors.
IDR Law is proud to have a Menopause policy in place and flexible working as standard (which can often be the barrier to many women remaining in their posts) but this is not the norm.In the podcast, June shares her wisdom both from her own experiences and those she has experienced in working with businesses. She tells us what she has seen go wrong and what she has seen work well.
As she tells us Menopause is not just a ‘women’s’ issue, it is an everybody issue. So, if you are a woman, you manage women or are related to a woman (!) then please listen and tell us what you think.
Earlier this month Partner at IDR Law Cara Hough had the pleasure of speaking with Catherine Betley from Grief Chat and Elizabeth Rimmer from LawCare. During the panel style conversation they talked about grief and bereavement and how it affects those close to the person who has died.
They also discussed how such incidents can affect the lawyers who may be involved in assisting with the surrounding legal processes, and with those who are suffering with their own loss.
Hannah Brittain, our Head of Charity Legacy Disputes sat down with Matthew Lagden, CEO of ILM to have a candid chat about all things legacy related covering everything from the basics, such as what legacies are and why they matter, who ILM are and what their members do and why, through to common issues faced by Legacy Managers such as dealing with compliance and regulatory issues, reputational management and what ILM members want to see from their solicitors when instructing them to assist.
Eleanor Stenson from IDR Law had the joy of chatting with Sarah Jones from Full Circle Funerals. It was a lovely honest chat about their funeral service, how it works and Sarah's experience of how family disputes can affect the planning process when emotions are running high.
