How to Own Your Success As a Woman: Talking Online Bullying and Harassment as a Content Creator with @sophiefrearmusic

In celebration of International Women's Day, we are SO excited to share Episode 2 of The Speak Out Podcast with @sophiefrearmusic

If you haven't heard about Sophie...this is your sign to head over to TikTok right now! She has a combined fanbase of over 570,000 followers, and she is known for her quick-fire harmonic ability, octave higher videos and adaptive songwriting content.

Most recently she rewrote the song ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’ as ‘Girls Just Wanna Walk Home’ which has since received over 6 million views.

Sadly, being in the music industry, particularly as a young woman and on a platform as public as TikTok, does not come without negative comments.

In this inspiring episode, our host Georgia chats with Sophie about how, as women, our success is often discredited, devalued and diminished. 72% of workplace harassment and bullying is gaslighting and 46% is based on sexism.

She lets us into the story of her viral 'Girls Just Wanna Walk Home' video and why it is so important to speak out and empower other women!

"There are real people on the other side of the screen and it's so easy for people to forget that."

In our first episode, our host Georgia speaks with CEO of MyKludo, Harriet Witchell, to discuss her engagement with a former Managing Director of leading anti-corruption organisation, Transparency International, Patricia Moreira. Harriet talks with Georgia about her findings in investigating the handling of whistleblower complaints against the International Board of Transparency International Secretariat and it really is shocking what she uncovered…

Harriet’s findings revealed systematic ghosting of staff by Board members, manipulation of the investigation process and misuse of NDAs…all whilst TI were providing advice to the EU on the development and implementation of the EU Directive on Whistleblowing.
