The Value of Planning is the next lesson in the Passport To Growth.

If you would like to join us in the coaching program, visit www.passporttogrowth.com

Here is the lesson in recap:

"Good fortune is what happens when opportunity meets with planning.” ~ Thomas Alva Edison

Benefits:

You will experience achievement. You will be more productive and efficient, which will enable you to accomplish goals more quickly.

You will reduce frustration. Frustration is a symptom of blocked goals that hinders progress.

You will build momentum and morale. Great planning causes you to consider the situation from all angles so that you see the pitfalls and delays that could occur. By anticipating problems and having ready solution or contingency plans, you can keep the plan in motion and continue to build on success.

You will get all the important things done. By forming a plan and prioritizing needs, you ensure that your focus is on the things that will bring the desired results.

You will increase your value and open yourself up to new possibilities. If you can show your ability to plan as an individual and as a part of a team, you will more likely be promoted or given important projects.

You will build confidence in yourself because you will have a means to measure your success. You will also earn the confidence and trust of others.

Characteristics:

These people have an aim in mind – a well-defined goal or vision they passionately desire to achieve.

These people set aside time for planning on a regular basis.

These people have clearly defined short-and-long-term goals with reasonable time frames in which to accomplish them.

These people make a list of resources needed to accomplish their vision, including people, budgets, and measurables.

These people are great communicators. When the plan involves a team, these people take the time to communicate the vision, update others on the evolution of the plan and ask people to contribute to the plan in their areas of strength. They encourage their team members, give credit to others, and show appreciation for each person's contribution.

These people consistently take time to reflect and, when necessary, make adjustments to the plan.

Passport To Growth is a group coaching and personal development program designed to empower individuals to grow into their maximum potential.

This weeks lesson was on The Value of Resilience.

"The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.” ~ Nelson Mandela

Benefits:

You will respond better to challenging situations. Instead of making rash decisions or lashing out at people, you will think things through and reach out to others for support.

You will be healthier both emotionally and physically. Stress takes a toll on your body and puts you in a reactive state, encouraging a bad attitude. Resilience will help you deal with your stress in productive ways.

You will be more productive. Discouragement from failure can hold you ransom and keep you from moving forward. When you are resilient, you can deal with the setbacks in life and keep working toward your potential.

You will be more flexible. Resilience will help you adapt to change and take control of your attitude and reactions.

You will increase your joy. You will have a more optimistic outlook during difficult times. Even when you don’t have a good reason to be happy, you will hold on to a sense of purpose.

Characteristics:

These people are flexible. Their ability to adapt to change helps them maintain a sese of stability. They embrace the idea that change is a part of living.

These people bounce back quickly. They do not see problems as insurmountable, but they use adversity to learn and grow. When they are challenged, they take lessons from their experiences and emerge stronger than before.

These people recognize the hardships of life without being ruled by them. Resilient people acknowledge pain but seek help, positivity, and solutions so they can move forward.

These people maintain a positive outlook. They focus on victories and the positive sides of situations. They realize that the pessimism can destroy their determination and well-being.

These people are self-aware. They know what kinds of situations bother them and understand their own strengths and insecurities. Because of this, they can ask for the support they need and contribute their best.

Today's thought: Achievement

Principles of Achievement—found in a book I am studying: The Chase—Success, Motivation, & the Scriptires

Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly.—Robert F. Kennedy

  1. We are meant to achieve
  2. We must be motivated to achieve
  3. Inner change is the beginning of the motivation process
  4. Motivation must be through daily repetition, feeding the brain with habits, through patterns and desires.
  5. Goal setting is the necessary pointer to keep us moving in the right direction.
  6. Belief in Gods power to accomplish His will through us is a must.

With God all things are possible Matthew 19:26

Each week we teach on a value and then we come together to discuss and coach the tribe around the value. This weeks lesson is on The Value of Humility.

"Humility is making a right estimate of oneself.” ~ Charles H. Spurgeon

Benefits:

You will be more persuasive. You will gain favor from others because you lack ego and desire their input.

You will be more productive. By recognizing the strengths of others, you will bring out the best in them and build a strong team.

You will feel good about yourself. When you have a clear picture of your strengths and weaknesses, you can feel comfortable with yourself.

You will gain opportunities for personal growth. You will recognize the areas you need to change and will be able to make the necessary corrections.

Characteristics:

These people have a realistic view of themselves. They understand what they are good at and are willing to acknowledge where they need help. They admit when they are in over their head or do not know all the answers.

These people cooperate well with their peers and colleagues. They recognize and praise the efforts of others.

These people are willing to listen to constructive criticism. They care about improving and they understand that advice from other people can help them become the best possible version of themselves.

These people listen to what other people have to say. They have a firm belief that they can learn something from everyone.

These people serve others. They are more concerned with what they can give rather than with what they can get from those around them.

“Why” Power

You are worthy! Let those words sink deep into your heart. You are worthy. Life can get overwhelming for us, as our busy schedules keep us on our toes. Sometimes we forget that we need to intentionally slow down, take a deep breath, and remind ourselves of our purpose, the very foundation of why we do what we do. When we neglect to quiet our souls and rest in God's amazing grace, we miss out on the intimate opportunities where God assures us of our worthiness, clarifies our purpose, and strengthens us to endure each day.—Jennifer E. Smith

Why I do what I do:

  1. For Gods glory and approval
  2. For family (Leigh—to show the kids what’s possible in their life) and friends
  3. For me—-confidence, joy, fulfillment
  4. For the freedom to choose each day what’s next
  5. To be an example
  6. To be consistently excellent
  7. To be salt & light
  8. To do hard things to learn and grow

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”—Acts 1:8
